I think the industry should start heading into this direction. Games have the potential to offer interactive experiences based on the choices we make; something movies can never offer. Games like Uncharted 2, Shadow of the Colossus, Silent Hill 2, Mass Effect, and Indigo Prophecy all fall under this banner. I'd rather have more games like those than any other. What I enjoy most about this game so far is the realistic consequences they have integrated into the gameplay. I remember mixing the p...
Just so you're aware. This isn't a Best Of list. This is just a bunch of games covering a whole bunch of different genres both good and bad for developers to pick apart and learn from. For instance they stress playing a lot of bad games so you can learn from their mistakes. Rather obvious, but then you have stuff like Left 4 Dead in their to learn how to do Co-Op, Portal for puzzles, Ico for artistic interactive experiences, etc. Just thought I would mention this before a bunch of users start...
They better be. We can't even get a priest to bless a same-sex marriage, but marrying a video game character is A-OK? ... I'm sorry, I'm speechless. ... o_o
yeah, there's no way they got a real priest to bless that. I'm calling fake.
oh my god GAY SEX! The world is coming to an end. Who the f#ck cares? I for one appreciate Bioware's efforts in offering gaymers an opportunity to start relationships with the gender they feel drawn to. You think gaymers give a flying f#ck about banging Morrigan as a male, think again. At least now we can get a TRUE romantic experience in a genre that up 'til now was dominated by straight relationships. Personally, I would have gone with Alistair if I could. He's an awesome guy... in a virtua...
I'd say this is enough to warrant a protest. People need to stop treating video games as if they were made for kids.
should be cool
Let's not jump the gun here. Of course, they may have already been able to mess with it, so who know's. In that case, they could still be blowing smoke out their ass, but then again maybe what they say is legit. We won't know for sure until we're well into the new year. Probably Fall, but could be longer.
Could someone tell me why Metacritic adds this as 100% when it is an A/A+? Should be a 92 or 95%, should it not? They've done this before: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, God of War Collection, etc. If a F is the lowest grade and they are reviewing on a scale of 13 due to D-, C+, etc, the score should be a 92 when crunched out. I'm guessing this is how 1UP wanted it, which I would say is extremely low considering how hard it is to pull off the rare A+. They deserve to be appropriately scaled....
This I cannot argue. Purchasing used is the same as piracy. However, I do support used game sales when a console is dead. For example, finding Psychonauts for the Xbox is a b!tch. The only way to get it now is used. Same for Suikoden II. Then again, Sony and Microsoft are beginning to release classic titles from their older systems digitally. Soon there won't even be a good reason to buy used.
I suppose people who simply can't afford the $50-60 price tag should be able to partici...
The key here should be profit. If video games start stealing all the consumers hard earned money, Hollywood will take notice. Until that happens, movies will remain king. As much as I'd like to see video games gain some spotlight, I do believe the two can coexist. They're entirely different art forms. ; )
Please not another. At least not this soon. Wait a while. How 'bout Half-Life 2: Episode 3 first. Come on now Valve!
EA is better now than then. They stand for much more than sports titles now, and I will always appreciate their new IPs like Dead Space and Mirror's Edge. I hope more enjoy what they have to offer.
I actually prefer shorter games. Experience is more important to me than length. I don't mind, so long as those few brief hours are incredibly kicka$$.
I'd like to share in the excitement. All gamers, "xbot" or not, should play Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. It is definitely my personal favorite this generation; probably ever. Such a good game. Do not let this opportunity pass by! Next up, Assassin's Creed 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Mass Effect 2, Heavy Rain, God of War 3, Alan Wake, The Last Guardian, and Final Fantasy XIII. :D
P.S. These are just U.S. numbers. The game has already reached well over a million by now. ...
**MASSIVE SPOILERS**
Close combat produced loads of blood if you beat 'em into a corner. Also, the Ice Cave level where you first meet the demon yetis, there were several butchered wolves in the area with very realistic blood depictions (read MOST realistic). You also have Nathan when he got shot by Flynn and was bleeding out on the train and Elena when the grenade went off. How exactly could U2: Among Thieves not be rated M? While the game didn't drop any F bombs that I'm aware ...
Yeah, Uncharted 2 surprised the sh!t out of me. Definitely should have been rated M. I could see the UDF getting away with a Teen rating, but not Among Thieves. Still my personal GotY though.
I've played most of the games in that list, and have got to say inFAMOUS has the best f#cking opening. Absolutely amazing... if only they could have kept that pace up. All those exploding cars and electricity going off everywhere. It was teh sex. <3 Yes, even better than Uncharted 2's opening, but U2 does deserve to be in that list.
Really? And I mean really? I'd agree that the Wii has some really awesome stuff (Metroid Prime Trilogy, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, etc...), but those are all owned by Nintendo. It's like wishing Halo would come to the Wii, or Uncharted to the 360. It's just not possible. So "wishing"? No, not a chance. If there were other hardcore games, preferably new IPs that were as good, then yes, I could see where your comment might a...
IGN, I'm sorry, but this just doesn't make any sense. Here let me help you. In one region alone, the PSP Go sold 29,000 units in one week (latest), that's not even counting the other 35,000 regular units sold that very same week. The PSP brand as a whole is starting to pull DS numbers, if anything Sony should try to push more 1st Party titles for the system. We have enough for PS3; share some love Sony.
Strange how the PS3 is starting to pull Wii numbers and PSP DS numbers, but I...
Sure. No problem 1.9
Uncharted
LittleBigPlanet
Mass Effect
Dead Space
No More Heroes
BlazBlue
Resistance
inFAMOUS
Gears of War
Assassin's Creed
Dragon Age
BioShock
Rock Band
It's actually a pretty extensive list. Sony and Microsoft have both been doing much better than Nintendo in terms of new IPs. And those are just for games already out. Of course, Sony provides the most support, but Microsoft ...
I guess I'll be the odd man out. I prefer shorter games. I don't have all the time in the world, and I hate it when developers assume I do. Most 60+ hour games are packed with filler that I could care less about. There is such a thing as the cutting room floor you know. 10-20 hours is the sweet spot. I don't mind 4-8 hour campaigns either, as long as they are insanely fun or emotionally gripping. Games like ICO, Uncharted, and Heavy Rain are good examples of this. Most of my favorite games ar...
