I don't get the concern. Dragon Age: Origins was 18+ too. I'm sure there will still be sex scenes, regardless of which version you get, but I'd be interested to see why the PC version contains strong sexual imagery whereas the PS3 and 360 counterparts do not.
Perhaps more important is the fact that the Game Developer's Choice Awards is starting to make a name for itself. The International Choice Awards Network is basically the equivalent of the Academy for the Oscars. Hopefully they get a TV deal eventually. I'd much rather see this than Spike TV's award ceremony. Way more credible. Also, the ICAN is dominated by 500 of the leading game developers. I could care less who wins. I'm just glad we're finally taking these awards seasons a little more se...
I think I might buy myself a copy of this magazine. I'm so desperate for anything Heavy Rain at this point. I don't want to say I'm jealous per say... okay, maybe I am a little. Probably for the first time in a long time. I just can't wait that long. I need my Heavy Rain! lol
Maybe it's just me, but I'm not surprised in the least. After having read an impossibly large amount of previews gushing with praise, Heavy Rain is already on its way to "AAA status" as you gamers put it. This is but the first in the line of many to come. ;)
Maybe so. I don't follow through on links usually to avoid giving sites hits unless I'm positive the source is credible. I just wanted to get the truth out there. Thanks for following up though. I probably won't even consider visiting the site now.
The original Mass Effect's ending was pretty good too. Kudos to Bioware on a job well done! Can't wait for this. :D
These two titles are compared because of their focus on narrative design. Usually, the comparison stems from industry professionals, but, apparently, sites have started to latch onto this, forgetting the very reason why they are so often compared. Both have a strong focus in writing, and seek to gain a mature audience as well. It comes down to aesthetics. Otherwise, the two should never be compared. As many users have already stated, the genres are nothing alike.
Unexpected titles are always welcome Ubi. Good luck!
Got to love the competition this year.
Whichever way you look at it, sex plays a part in relationships. Getting to see that is a way of immersing the audience into that particular character's life: blemishes and all. I think these scenes will complement the game immensely. We're all adults here. I hope. lol
Surprisingly, the US version will remain uncensored despite close to full frontal nudity being present throughout. The only thing you don't get to see as a user above me put it is the beaver. Happy days are here again. :D
You'll be able to see a bit of what I'm talking about here: http://www.youtube.com/watc... (NSFW)
Mass Effect 2 is my 2nd most anticipated game of the year. Behind only Heavy Rain. The original was a landmark in storytelling and narrative design. Much in the same way Uncharted was. I like to view those two franchises as the pinnacle of this generation. Microsoft better hold onto Mass Effect. Right now, in my opinion, it is the only franchise worth a damn compared to Uncharted.
Day one buy for me. Can't wait! :D
These first couple of months are crazy. Week after week another big game is set to release. It all started with Bayonetta and Darksiders. Now we have Army of Two: The 40th Day with MAG not but two weeks later. Then Mass Effect 2, Dante's Inferno, White Knight Chronicles, Bioshock 2, so on and so forth. Heavy Rain is my most anticipated and I'll be there day one for sure. However, I might still be playing Dante's Inferno depending. DI has a surprisingly superb direction. I can't wait to get my...
I'm confused as to how they can do this. It sounds like a software related coding procedure. Not hardware. How can the TV do it alone? Something needs to differentiate the axes. I highly doubt the HDMI cord can do it either. The game/movie should be the one telling the TV to output various graphics to certain axes. For example, the horizontal points along an image should be outputted in parallel on the X-Axis, the vertical Y, and span Z. The program should be telling which points to output. H...
Not to step on anyone's toes, but I don't seem to recall any analog control complaints with the Dreamcast. Sega's controller featured one analog stick as well, but didn't draw near as much attention. Is it really that hard to use a single stick? I'm not even sure the system would play that well with two. Where would you put it? Sure, if you want to move the stick, fine. Placing it right below the D-Pad is a bit awkward. Might I suggest below the face buttons instead. Either that or remove it....
I too think Naughty Dog has made the right decision. While I see the potential with the Wand and Natal and by extension the Wii Motion Plus, I don't believe we're at that stage where we are incorporating design around motion. As of now, it feels context sensitive rather than fully interactive. Until you hit the nice medium, motion controls have no business with action adventure.
However I'm sure they're eying Uncharted 3's 3D aspects. I couldn't even begin to imagine! Matter of f...
I found The Hurt Locker to be a far better movie than Avatar. Don't get me wrong. I liked the movie for what it was. However, I would've liked to see an actual plot and some character depth that didn't have me rolling my eyes every other second. Some of you are acting like this movie is the end all is all, but have you even seen any other movies to back up that claim for even this year alone.
Try the aforementioned Hurt Locker, (500) Days of Summer, Inglorious Basterds, District ...
This was by far the best premiere shown at the VGA. Followed by the sequel to Arkham Asylum and True Crime. Everything else was mediocre, or just didn't show gameplay.
Completely agreed. It's ridiculous to think people are already dismissing Uncharted 2 when it still looks better than just about every game released thus far. Matter of fact, the only game that I really feel matches it is POSSIBLY Heavy Rain. It still needs a bit touching up before it reaches that level, but it's extremely close.
Sure, we have yet to see the final build of FFXIII, but I highly doubt it has improved considerably since. And no, the art style doesn't make up for it....
Heavy Rain has the best character models for sure, but I'd like to see some more work done to the environments. Once they hit that, I fully believe that Heavy Rain will be the best game graphically. Who knows, they could've already touched it up a bit since the last build they showed publically. I mean just look at this picture. INSANE! Makes my mouth water. :D
*sad face*
This is exactly what I had in mind with a game I was working on. Now I'm all sad and stuff. The idea was supposed to be original. Heavy Rain beat me to the punch. Still, mine has a slightly different twist. So all's not lost.
The very fact that Heavy Rain utilizes a concept like this, just makes it that much better. I love Quantic Dream, and wish nothing but success in their future. This will be extremely exciting. Hopefully, shocking. I believe the indust...
