Heavy Rain seems to be the type of game where everyone thinks no one else knows about it, when in fact they do. This happened pretty recently for me. I was talking to my roommate, a new PS3 owner at the time, and we ended up talking about our most anticipated games. I listed Uncharted 2 and Heavy Rain for mine, and he whole heartedly agreed. Same for a friend across the hall. Turns out, one of my instructors is very fond of the game as well. I think the sales will surprise everyone, except Qu...
Hugh Jackman would make a better Harry Flynn in my opinion. ;)
Will the PS3/360 ever be fully maxed? There will probably always be something that can be optimized. Sure it could take years and years, but it is still possible. However, I'm okay with developers using the phrase, as long as they use it sparingly. It gives you the idea that given the team's current ability, they have fully utilized all aspects of the SPUs, but, even then, how is one to know whether someone is working at full potential? In the end, it comes down to trying. No matter how much ...
One of the most talented game designers ever. Probably IS the most talented. Congrats Hennig on a job well done. <3
I'm not falling for this again. In what manner will it surprise us? A game can surprise us in several ways: how awesome, controversial, or sh!tty it might be. Temper your expectations, gamers.
I'm looking forward to Heavy Rain more than God of War 3. Indigo Prophecy was an incredibly ambitious game that had the potential of advancing the industry as a whole. Obviously, it didn't quite end up that way, but Heavy Rain looks to improve upon its predecessor in every way. Can't wait. I think David Cage has a hit on his hands here. This and Uncharted 2 will be the pioneers to a new form of game design.
lol Paid off by Micro$oft.
Obviously, I'm joking, just in case you couldn't tell. The world we live in these days.
Thankfully, the PS3 is region free. So even if they do, I'll just pick up the import.
According to guidelines, sure, but would anybody check the review out then? Probably not. USA Today has prestige. Name sells itself. Indeed, Uncharted 2 is one of the most popular games on N4G right now, but I have a feeling a lot of it has to do with the reviews its been getting as of late. So I merged the two to actually try and get the users to, you know, actually read the article.
As the saying goes, choose your battles wisely. I decided that it would be better just to use a ...
It's just gaymer. Not that it matters either way. No need for special treatment. I've been playing games for years, and, yes, the first Uncharted is one of my favorite games of this generation. Hopefully, U2 does even better.
... and no, I had no idea this site ever existed, and already I hate it. Drake's kind of hot in a virtual sort of way, I suppose, but it was hardly the reason why I loved Uncharted as much as I did.
If you want games to be taken seriously, this is the first step. Movies are visual forms of books, and games are interactive forms of movies. Why shouldn't "these guys" be allowed to review a game?

That was my bad. The original title for this article was "CBSNews Reviews..." It was changed after someone noticed it was an AP article, which I noticed as well, but they failed to provide a link or author. So face palms all around.

lol Just read the article. Sounded like pure fanboy dribble to me. On top of that, it's as if he didn't do any research at all. Most of the facts he states are entirely false. IGN is a shadow of what it once was.
Funny thing is they tried to compare the two by blowing U2 up to a resolution it does not support, at least a resolution the retail version doesn't support. Obviously Crysis will look better. Keep U2 at the appropriate size and it will be a lot closer.
Great review. Expected no less. They'll probably give Ratchet and Clank a 5/5 too, as they have for previous installments. Unbelievable year for PS3 owners.
Kind of off-topic, but, well, prepare for GameSpot's review. I checked the Uncharted 2 page, and they had added three new videos for today. No video review. Just gameplay stuff. Now it's gone. Maybe I'm seeing things, but they could be getting ready to post their review. Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up.
Needs only 9 more 10's now. G4TV gave U2 a 5/5!

Wait for Edge? No need. Critics have weighed in: U2 is the best game so far this generation. My purchase was confirmed long ago. All these reviews do is make me wish today was October 13th.
The score might go up once they get their hands on the multiplayer: stated towards the end of the article. So it may still get a 10/10. Regardless, it's beyond me how they could rate the single player anything below a 10. Be nice if the perfect scores from Eurogamer was unanimous. :D
I don't see what's wrong with his comment. The video games industry does need to grow up. What's disgusting is the way these one dimensional characters are stuffed down our throats. Developers just don't get it. Games are not as immersive as they once thought. In fact, I hardly relate with characters in any sort of way. Granted, there are a few developers out there like Quantic Dream that gets this. Games like Bioshock, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, and Alan Wake will ...
