I don't know about you guys, but I like good stories. I'd love to have one in my FPS. It's been a while: Resistance: Fall of Man and BioShock being the most recent. Hopefully, Crysis 2 is as good as those, if not better. Still, I can't help but feel a bit skeptical.
Regardless, he's talking about graphics here. Who knows really. It very well could be better than Killzone 2. Just remember Crytek, actions speak louder than words. ;)
I want to stay up for it, but I think I'm going to call it a night. I'm pretty tired. Too much homework. Let me know if it's any good. Just remember though, it's on the Jimmy Fallon show. It's probably going to be short-ish though. Keep your expectations within reason. This isn't E3 we're talking about here. They're probably saving the best for then.
Really? I found the game to be far too linear, and usually I wouldn't mind this if I felt involved but it was far too simple and streamlined. Choices are limited, the puzzles are poorly designed, and the narrative, while charming, can be extremely annoying. I like how they poke at stereotypes in the game, but, in my opinion, the only reason to get this game is for the refreshing atmosphere.
Rather than Blue Toad Murder Mystery Files, I'd recommend picking up PixelJunk Shooter, by...
Depends on my mood. Most people who own a PSP, probably own a PS3 as well. The problem sets in with the PS3. It's stealing the spotlight. Sony should do something about this. I highly doubt it has much to do with piracy. It's like, once it got cracked they ceased marketing. Big mistake in my opinion. That's why people only buy a couple games for the PSP. It's because they don't know what else is out there.
For instance, everyone crowns DS JRPG king but have these people played th...
I could tell. It's greater because of it. I can't wait to pick this up. Love me some cinematic gaming!
Hmmm, that's funny. I seem to recall playing every last game you mentioned. Yeah, those are horror, but Dead Space is as well. How could you consider it anything but horror? That there just blows my mind. Thriller? Um... no. Dead Space isn't even close to a thriller. Heavy Rain is a thriller. Do you see the difference there? If not, you need to study up on the last century's worth of cinema.
I'm guessing you're new to horror yourself, being as you listed some of the most well kno...
EDGE? Don't care. They've already lost every ounce of respect I once had for them. I wouldn't even consider them harsh. What they love is far too flawed, and the true gems are often overlooked by the team. Final Fantasy XIII being one such example. F#ck EDGE!
Someone hasn't played Dead Space...
Wasn't Avatar 24 frames per second, as are most films released to this day? While I'm sure Cameron wanted a higher frame rate, it still worked rather well. Strobing seems to be an issue at lower frame rates, but I'm sure it will be rather minimal at first. Especially since games are anywhere from 1.5 to 2 times more frames per second than typical cinema.
Don't do it Alpert! Jacob still needs you. Isabelle can wait.
Bungie has always done an amazing job in terms of polish. That's not what people are griping about generally. Just saying, it's nice to here, but nothing indicative of whether or not Reach will be better than 2 or 3.
*crosses fingers*
my bad
If it is true, the pirates will be all over this one. Sad day. :( I mean, I'm fine with those who just want to use Linux or something for personal reasons, but at the same time. Sony's a business, they'll lose much more if pirates are able to exploit they're latest venture. It pains me to see a beloved feature taken away because of a select few who would rather abuse and screw it up for the rest of 'ya than use it as it was meant to be used. Sad day, indeed.
I was speaking generally. It amazes me that they had to go as far as the "It Only Does Everything" ads this article was based on. It has nothing to do with whether the comment was made as a joke. I'm stunned by the theme of the ad campaign: it's great, but obvious. Hence, me replying to your original message. Too much obvious in this thread. lol
I have to disagree. I've been programming for over four years now, and let me tell 'ya there is nothing more important than satisfying your clientèle. Sure, you can't satisfy everyone, but a majority of gamers found both Halo 2 and 3 to be a step down from the original. Fans are merely providing feedback. This should make they're job easier. In terms of creative direction, you're right. Experiences should be left to the designers, but we're talking about networking here. They should be a...
Honestly, I'm waiting to see how the public will react to Sony's MOVE and 3D technology. With the PS3, you'll get a state of the art gaming rig (with a ton of support from quality first party studios), plus a Blu-Ray player, not to say it goes without mentioning that it also does 3D, add to that a true 1:1 motion controller. Sony has catered to both the casuals and hardcore before. Hence, the PS2 selling like mad. I think Sony's latest features will tip the scale in they're favor. Even here i...
Balancing can be extremely tricky, but if we're talking about network support here they should be listening to their fans. Except, of course, in the most extreme conditions. The most fun I've ever had online was probably with Resistance: Fall of Man (the original). The community was generally older and, depending on the day, had extremely skilled players. Best of all, it was balanced.
Now, Resistance 2 on the other hand... Yeah, listening to fans may not always be the best case. ...
Meh, the free content we're getting is good enough. Don't know about you guys but I'm enjoying the Tester. Hope they do another one when this one's over. They did a really good job picking the Top 3 (Cyruss, Amped, and Nauseous: my three favorites). Also Starr performed better than I thought. I'm glad she was a good sport about it. She's had many chances, and I would absolutely be devastated if Cyruss left.
Then again, doesn't look like it'll matter. From the preview, he appears ...
What gets me is that Sony has to come out and state so just so the rest of the world gets it.
You'd think they'd know better by now what with their extensive line up of Blu-Ray products and players (main backer), 3D HDTVs (Bravia anyone?), VAIO laptops, Cybershot cameras, surround sound systems, and what have you. They're in the music industry, movie industry. They're even infested the porn industry (okay, that last one's not true, but it might as well be). I mean they even produ...
Well, he's taking inspiration from the right games at least. I'm interested to see what he does with Crysis 2. Sounds pretty epic. Stories have been remarkably absent this generation with First Person Shooters. I can recall Resistance: Fall of Man (just the original) and BioShock. That's about it. I don't know about you guys, but I really do want to see Crytek deliver on what they promise. Who wouldn't? Don't we all love gaming?
