Well, it's news to me. Nice to hear where Rockstar's money's going.
Some people are going to totally misinterpret your comment. I know I did at first. I think GTA IV would be a better example though. Games like Bayonetta, Dead Space, Assassin's Creed, and Heavy Rain are infinitely better than GTA IV. Never trust MetaCritic. Critics are generally way off. They've only been right on a select few games.
Not just that, but Mass Effect 2 was a tad overrated. Yes, I've played it. Yes, I've beat it. MetaCritic matters not to me. In my honest opinion, God of War III was better. Mass Effect 2 had some crazy a$$ awesome missions, but also had plenty of dull ones. The Okeer mission ring a bell? Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. There were hardly any choices in the mission. The layout was far too linear compared to previous missions, and the story made no sense at all. How were th...
Exactly. I'm getting tired of this question. None of us know save a select few, and the ones that have probably won't mention it here as Microsoft loves to hunt for pirates and early shoppers. In my honest opinion though the GotY contenders so far are:
Bayonetta
Final Fantasy XIII
God of War III
Heavy Rain
Mass Effect 2
With God of War III being the front runner. Yes, I've played and beat every last one. I'm pla...
Agreed. Everyone's acting like it's one big joke, but some of it doesn't even make sense. I don't see the joke in nearly half the points. IMO, this article fails. My brother and I play Heavy Rain for the lulz from time to time. There's a lot of material in there to make fun of, but the author doesn't mention any of these. Instead, relying on absent minded humor, which doesn't make sense in respect to the game. FAIL!
oh, shhh you
I understand, but using examples that make little sense is just plain stupid. My brother and I joke about Heavy Rain a lot, but 50% of the stuff in here doesn't make any sense. Sorry if I prefer a bit of logic to back up my wit. Now why don't you go Press X to Jason. ; )
Wow, is this person serious? I could pick apart everything they stated here. Instead, I'll just list a couple. For starters, the ground floor is not necessarily the first floor. Sometimes, people stick an elevator on the ground floor, and you have to go up a level to reach the first floor where receptionists and the like are. Obviously, this person hasn't been around.
Also, after the highway chase, Ethan was pursued by cops. In one of the endings, he ends up in prison...
No kidding. Anybody who can spare a couple bucks should pick up PixelJunk Shooter... RIGHT NOW! Easily one of the best games put out this year. I'm all for a potential sequel.
For some reason, I can't send PM's. I'll try to get it sorted it out. Regardless, here's what I would've sent you:
Fighting games are not boring. They're lots of fun in fact, I just need some depth in my games. Otherwise I feel disconnected from the experience, which is how I refer to games. I need more than just fun factor. I need the long term. That's what makes games an art form: the depth and care they put into their experience.
lol Not even NPD can support a system as long as Sony.
but Heavy Rain does have guns and explosions >_>
...spoilers...
*pew* *pew* *pew*
I'll probably try it. I don't use GameStop. Only Best Buy. I don't support used games and never will. Until the middle man cuts some for the big guys that is. I'll bite.
But I wrote a response in my own blog that can be found here: http://n4g.com/blogs/detail... (currently waiting for approval)
Wow, you guys are hilarious. Defending your favorites while persecuting perhaps one of the most majestic and philosophical games to emerge on the market. If you liked Xenogears, you should be all over this. Your taste leaves something to be desired. If you want depth in your games, play FFXIII, you're just buying into the western media's propaganda. Silly gamers, think for yourselves. I won't go as far as to say brainwashed, but you guys are pretty pathetic. Like I said before, in...
It's called being ignorant. They obviously didn't beat the game if they're spouting stuff like this. Why's it matter anyways? FFXIII was an amazing game.
lol Final Fantasy XIII was an experience, which is much more important to me than any predefined genre or game. That is why I firmly believe FFXIII was just as good as Mass Effect 2. Period. Some of you need to... you know, play the game. You're all going to regret this sometime in the future when you finally realize how good FFXIII really is.
Actually, I do think we'll see in increase in 360 sales when Halo Reach ships. Remember, MS goes by units shipped, and I'm pretty sure many a Halo fans consoles have succumb to RROD. There will be an increase in sales for sure, but not as big as Halo 3's. Especially with what happened after ODST.
While FFXIII is definitely an amazing game, my favorite Final Fantasy no less, I still think both Mass Effect 2 and God of War III were better-ish. It's a close call though. It really comes down to direction and presentation. The latter of which I feel surpasses FFXIII, barely.
@ 10.2 - lol, I find that hard to believe. If anybody has made it as far as Palumpolum and still hates the game, I'd find it hard to take that person seriously.
Can't say I agree with that at all. First off, you're listing games that haven't even come out yet. We have no idea how they will perform. End of story. I'm not going to guess which games will make the list. Remember what happened with GTAIV, labeled by critics and gamers as GotY before it even came out. Now look at it.
So far, I would say the GotY contenders are:
1) God of War III
2) Mass Effect 2
3) Final Fantasy XIII
...
Maybe announce, but they certainly won't release this year. They still have a bunch of $hi+ coming out for the original: Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, Persona 3: Portable, Valkyria Chronicles 2, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, Final Fantasy Agito XIII, and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. That's not even counting all the games they'll announce at E3. The PSP is far from dead.
