And Persona 3 gets shafted again. Oh well, can't win 'em all.
lol
My wallet weeps at all these games.
No, it does. Persona 3 and 4 were both dramatically better than even old Square-Soft. However, FFXIII was not that bad. In fact, I would even say it's my favorite of the series. The only game Square made that even came close in my opinion was Xenogears. Also, P4 is not THAT much better than P3. Unless you mean, in terms of game mechanics. Than by all means...
They're confidence is contagious. Especially after the critical disaster that was FFXIII. That game is so much better than what the media made it out to be. **** reviews!
And that's exactly why I'll be picking up Alan Wake next week. Well, that and the atmosphere. My GotY will likely come down do Mass Effect 2, God of War III, Heavy Rain, Bayonetta, or Final Fantasy XIII. Of course, the year's not over and there are a couple of games I'm eagerly anticipating that could kick a couple of those out. Here's to an incredible year thus far.
I fully agree with every point you made Reibooi. As for the people saying all they had to do was spam Auto, how many times did you die? Just as Reibooi said, they don't organize or prioritize. I had characters who couldn't attack and were all poisoned. And what do you think Vanille was doing? She was healing herself. If you want to rely on a character like that, go ahead. Or, you could just switch to medic and manually queue Esuna and the appropriate stat remedies. Takes all of two se...
I find the hate hilarious. In about a year, they'll all look like idiots, and FFXIII will be regarded as one of the best Final Fantasy's. Don't believe me? Play it for yourself. And I'm not talking the first 2-3 hours. I mean, actualy play it. If after the big fight in Palumpolum, you still hate it, I'd say you gave it a chance. Until then, knock it off with all this blasphemy. lol
Exactly, it's the hype machine. Critics compare it to the hype rather than enjoying the experience. At most user aggregates, Heavy Rain is within the Top 5 of the year. For critics, Top 15. There's definitely a difference there. Mainly, I think it's because critics find it difficult to gauge user reaction for games like these. They're tricky. So they're reviews are often way off the mark. I expect much the same for Alan Wake.
I can't wait to pick this up. I love me some cinematic gaming. I don't care what the score is. Especially Destructoid being that the review is by the same person that tore Heavy Rain to shreds. He's clearly not a fan of this style. I have no idea why he praised Alan Wake over Heavy Rain. There's nothing inherently different in the subject material. Both are suspense thrillers that utilized cinematic scene structure to tell their stories. I find it ridiculous he tore Heavy Rain...
I agree, but, at the same time, I believe they had their reasons. They would look like fools filing a case without any more objective basis. I feel sorry for the two execs, but I'm under the impression that we're not getting the whole story. Therefore, I'm on no one's side. I'm waiting for that long *** history of discussions. ;)
They mention the appeal they filed back in April. I'm a little busy to do some digging right now, but hopefully that gets you started.
Granted, this could have been an excuse. Regardless though, it was probably one of the hardest decisions the company has ever made. Kudos to standing up for what they believe in, if in fact they are telling the truth.
Wouldn't be the first time. Just look at Arkham Asylum.
I personally like Mitsuda more than Uematsu. Now if only Yuki Kaijura would only compose for some new PS3 games. She'd easily make that list.
Perfect? I'm pretty sure Kotaku doesn't even have a numbered rating system. They won't. Then again, on the other hand, I'm sure others will.
Wow, I highly doubt half of you have even played God of War III after having made that ridiculous statement. Take the opening credits for example: http://www.youtube.com/watc... That is art. No two ways about that. Also the opening fight against Poseidon is art from a game designers perspective (how it plays, how it feels, how it sounds). Matter of fact, that can be said to just about every boss fight. I mean, even whe...
This game is really f#cking sh!tty. I'm serious. Get PixelJunk Shooter, instead.
I'm so confused. So what's the name of the game? lol I actually thought the game was called "This Game Could Redefine Horror," because of the "logo" in the article (read: picture). I almost wish they did stick with that name. It'd be full of win.
I thought inFamous had a pretty good one too. All those cars and stuff blowing up around you, charging Cole's body. EPIC
