Remakes are for fans and people that haven't played the game. If you're neither of those then don't worry.
I don't buy the argument that resources are wasted on remakes. Would a sequel to TLOU or Uncharted 4 be finished quicker if the remaster wasn't made? Maybe. Or maybe there'd be more contract employees without a job.
Agreed.
My PS+ subscription ended not long after I got a PS4 and I don't see any reason to renew yet. I was expecting to renew when Driveclub became available but now I see no point, the PS+ edition is just a demo in my eyes.
I worry that glorified demos might become the norm now that PS+ is required to play online. Whereas PS+ used to be about subscribing to what was essentially a game rental service it's now about paying to play online.

I can't reply to all of you individually so I'll reply to myself and try and address your questions.
Firstly, thank you all for replying. I sense from the hostility that I've offended some of you, sorry that was not my intention.
I don't think demos or trials are a bad idea, I think they're great and are far too rare these days.
What I'm worried about is the replacement of full free triple A games on PS+ with stripped...
I hope the glorified demo version of Driveclub for PS+ isn't the start of a trend.
Not many people are complaining now but what if more Triple A PS+ releases on PS4 are 'lite' version? What if the next release is Killzone: Shadow Fall, the first three single player chapters, no multiplayer, free on PS+?
Doesn't look like something I'll use to make videos but I'll be happy if it means I get to consume more/better gameplay videos on YouTube.
Hardly a review. Ironically just called every sport vague and simply.
Thanks for the reply.
What I really want to know however is how long until this PC no longer performs better than next-gen consoles? I don't think anyone could argue that a budget PC built in 2007 could outperform some console games form 2009. Would a budget PC such as this outperform consoles for 2 years?
I would have assumed you'd need a better CPU. For those who know, will it be long before a rig like this is outdated? How long until you'd have to start turning off a lot of effects and putting settings on low? Would it make more sense to spend a little more money?
I wanted this on PS3 but was saving for a PS4 so I'd definite buy a remastered version.
Lol, how could someone disagree with you?
I disagreed because I've not experienced a F2P game that was win-win, I hate the typical grind or pay model, but I do agree that F2P is the future of mobile gaming. I just scrolled through the top 100 grossing Apps and 94 of them are free! I think F2P will become more common on consoles this gen but I can't see it become the norm like it has on the mobile platform.
This is the first understandable argument I've seen for a discount. I think a £10 upgrade fee is too low but say a 15% discount for season pass holders is probably reasonable.
Exactly. I think of it like when a director's cut of a movie is released, nobody expects a discounted upgrade price for those. These remastered versions are for die hard fans and people that didn't play the game on PS3. I really liked Tomb Raider on the PS3 so I bought the Definitive edition. I really like The Last of Us so I'll be getting the remaster day one. I also own GTAV but I'm done with that game, if they released a remaster I wouldn't buy it nor would I expect an ...
This article is refreshingly well written. My interest in Destiny had started to wane but this got me excited for it again.
Agreed. He's certainly doing a good job of changing my opinion of the XBone. I've gone from not expecting to ever buy an XBone because it's not for gamers to thinking maybe one day.
FYI, a lot is two words.
I have the 1.0 headset and haven't felt the need to upgrade. Is anyone able to compare the two?
I'm impressed with how alive the city looks. People are going about their lives and actually doing things rather than just walking around, they're taking, watching buskers, taking photos etc.
It may well have been creative differences from Sony. I recall that it was Sony calling for Uncharted to target an older demographic.
"So the big push from Sony, not just at Naughty Dog but at all of Sony’s development companies at the time, was to craft games for PlayStation 3 that were much more realistic."
"We had a lot of internal grumbling about the realist bent. More of the old dogs were from the Crash and Jak era and preferred that more...
Possible but very few staff are needed during the first year or so of game development. That's partly why developers like DLC, keep those staff that aren't needed for the new game yet working. It's probably only those people that work on remastered editions so I don't agree that there's a delay on new games.
Also the profit margin is likely a lot higher on re-releases and the risk a lot lower which will give developers more monetary resources to put into n...
