@Lucreto
There is no shooting yourself in the head in the first Persona. They summon them based off of fear (initially).
I don't really remember persona 2, but I remember it was better than the first one.
One thing I really remember about the first one is that if you don't answer a few questions from an NPC the correct way, you lose out on about 40% of the content, which I always thought was strange. Also, the game has personas all the way up to lvl99 (I think it was), but if you just play through the game, you will only be around level 30. The mobs do level up with you, but I always figured to...
You're right, it's mostly opinion, but that's kind of my argument. Most PC people spit and spew that it's not opinion, but fact that Crysis looks better, which is silly.
You say you disagree with everything but the animation. Explain KZ2's superior lighting engine, art direction (this I suppose is opinion), intense gameplay (sure, when you enter an outpost in Crysis, you have to fight a few people, or the time at night during the air fights running down the road and all, but ea...
Maybe look at the lighting architecture in KZ2, as one example. It's far more advanced than the on in Crysis. I'm not talking about the ability to raytrace the light reflecting off of each leaf (which doesn't happen, and even if it did, it's a huge waste of resources for an already vastly inefficient engine). I'm talking about use of lighting, it's superior in KZ2. Also, look at the buildings in Crysis, it's like they were put together from textured rectangles just so they had the destruc...
In the spirit of this article:
"As much as we loved the idea of this article, the skeletons are still in the closet for the punchline that is gamedaily.com. As certain as they are that they are a legitimate website, they prove yet again to damper the spirit of the season, by refusing to give even a semblance of relevance. As much as we all tried to enjoy their witty premonitions, let's all be realistic and accept that the hype is a letdown. Gamedaily's writers came up sho...

I think I saw you say you didn't live in the US, otherwise you can just go to Amazon or something. It's fairly easy to get here since it's in the greatest hits library. I know that doesn't help you much though. I checked the UK Amazon though (if you are there) and there are several places it links you to that have it for sale, but it's pretty expensive.
@supremacy
Beyond the Beyond...hah, damn that game sucked so bad. I remember buying it because it was the first real RPG released on the ps1 (Arc the Lad came out around the same time, but only in Japan). The only thing that was cool about the game was the mini-dragon that followed you around and when I happened to stumble upon Merlin in a cave after reading a random book in some city (I think he taught you a revive spell or something). I remember really thinking the game migh...
Since updates and everything, the software BC runs about 99% of the ps2 games just fine. Out of about 50+ ps2 games I've played on my 80gb ps3, the only thing I've noticed in any game was the fight against The Fury in MGS3. It slows down the game a lot (it actually makes the fight very easy). Other than that though, everything works perfect.
@rhood022
Don't forget the Killzone Dew. (or maybe not)
I agree with a lot of the list, except for Yukari. She was one of my favorite characters in P3.
The shots provided are SD and way too small to define the quality of the game's graphics. As to the comment about signifying lesser graphics means not enough time was spent on the game is ignorance.
Level5 has one of the best track records of any game developer ever, so far, since they have never released a game that is not at least really good, if not great. Epic, Squenix, Sony, MS, etc. can't even come close to claiming such a thing. So, I for one am willing to give Level5...
@poeo
While the PC market certainly has the "systems" to be the larger market, in terms of game sales, it's just not there. That's not to even mention the fact that the game will obviously be on the PC as well, and probably a timed "exclusive" for the PC, if it even comes out for the 360/PS3.
"Quite a few sites are saying FFvs will b coming 360's way."
Those sites wouldn't happen to be something like "xboxfanboys.com," "360gamerz.com," etc. would they? I have never seen any site claim such a thing unless it's in blog format, where they are just stating their opinion. Anyone hoping VS is going to come out for anything other than the ps3 should research who the director of the game is. The only way any other system is going to see VS is ...
Or, where is Tobal No.2. =\
It was the first game I ever imported, and is in my top 5 favorite ps1 games, and that's saying a lot, especially considering all the epics Squaresoft released for the ps1. Thankfully I had an original, release day ps1, so I could just disc-swap to play imports.
Tobal No.1 was a fun game as well, but I remember the only reason I bought it was for the FFVII demo. I'm glad I did, though.
I agree that the DS remakes and much-cheaper-to-make handheld games are the best way for Squenix to make a profit, and they are being smart about that. What the problem is, is that Squenix has yet to make a truly great game. Dragon Quest 8 was a great game, but they just published it, they didn't make it. FFXII was good, but not great. None of their next-gen games so far have been near "great."
Squaresoft and Enix made a lot of great games when they were separate co...
Where the heck are Palam and Porom from FFIV? They killed themselves to save the rest of the team...Well, maybe they were revived for the ending, but at the time it was a very sad moment. Also, Edward in FFIV as well (this is from the SNES version, as I haven't played the new DS one).
Then you also have General Leo in FFVI (Kefka you psycho son of a ...).
If you want to include Final Fantasy Tactics (better than all but two of the main series in my opinion, VI and ...
@1.4
Bioshock and KZ2 are only related because they are both FPS. KZ2 may have better graphics and gameplay, but I can 100% guarantee the storyline of Bioshock will make KZ2's "look like a$$." Bioshock has no multiplayer, it is a story-based FPS, and probably the best of it's kind ever made (System Shock 2 is good, but I don't see how people compare it to Bioshock in terms of story-telling, also, Half-Life 1 and 2 have good stories and better gameplay, but again, the ...
Not that it really matters, but that comparison shot has been around since May of this year, since the Playstation Day in London, so it's about 6 months old, so not sure why no one has mentioned it.
Anyway, I think it looks great now. Certain things aren't going to match the CG footage, simply because the CG footage is probably using 20x the polygons. That being said, the fact that most everything looks just as good, and some things look even better (the lighting, gun models, e...
While Nintendo definitely got Sqaresoft off the ground in it's early days, until FF7 they had not broken through in any market but Japan. FF6, while I think a superior game to 7, never broke a million sells in the US. FF7 on the otherhand obviously did, and is undeniably the reason Squenix is one of the biggest video game companies in the world. So stating that Square owes more to Nintendo or Sony, either way, doesn't work.
Nintendo screwed over Square, somewhat, by not rele...
Agree, VC is definitely in my top 5. I think the problem is, based on what we've seen on sales, most of the people haven't played it, sadly.
