I'm not really sure, but I know the BttF Trilogy is coming out on Blu-Ray on October 26 (finally), and I'm more looking forward to that than a game (which will probably be terrible, going by the past).
They are annoying, but they DO lead you to treasures you can't otherwise get...so be sure to shoot them after you save them and get the loot.
Meh, I type over 120 wpm (used to be a writer, part time), so that didn't take but a couple of minutes. Anyway, I have no problem with you defending the Wii, as it gets way more hate than it should (and some that it deserves, as do all systems).
I'm glad you own all systems, and wish more people did. Owning all three consoles makes it so that it doesn't matter which system has the best JRPGs, because there will always be a few games on "the other" sy...
oops...double post
The story is a joke, but yeah, it's a sensationalist headline meant to draw hits.
The lesson I find from Starcraft is that a troop of marines does a lot better if they shoot up some drugs before battle (stimpacks). ;) (j/k of course)
ps. Thanks for your service.
Yeah, me too, but would still be a nice release for people that don't. Mainly for people that have never played it, but give it a try through PSN. The graphics in the game are semi-2D, so the game has aged a lot better than some of the ps1 games (like FFVII and Vagrant Story, although both amazing games, just have to get used to it if first time playing).
This is a late reply, so not sure if you will see it or not (don't really care). I'm just curious, did you completely cherry-pick through my post on purpose, or do you just like ignoring people? I mentioned Lost Odyssey simply because it was made by the same people that are making The Last Story. So if you didn't like LO, what makes you think they will do better with this game? Simply because it's on the Wii?
Again, though, I'm just curious about you...
While I will be getting this game day one if it comes to the US, saying something as ignorant as "jealousy" (sorry, "jelousy") is kind of short sighted. It's not like the Wii is loaded with good RPGs either, and as far as I know, this game hasn't been released yet to judge it as a "good rpg." Although, I expect it will be a great game. Lost Odyssey is still one of the better JRPGs released this generation. Still hoping they decide to make a ps3 game t...
The site seems to be down (at least right now, for me), so I can't check the list, but yeah, no FF6 automatically makes it a bad list, or at least a list of someone of whom I don't care what their opinion is. For me, it's the second best RPG ever, behind Xenogears (let me guess, it's not on the list either?).
I'm gonna file this under "not an issue."
The game looks fun (the old one was pretty fun, but no masterpiece), but comparing the gore in this to GoW3 doesn't fit. GoW3 is realistic (obviously the monsters and such aren't), this game is stylized and slightly cartoony (and overly excessive like GeoW...who knew people/monsters had 100 liters of blood inside them?). There is nothing wrong with this style, but I don't think it's a good comparison.
These scenes don't give the same "yuck" &qu...
While I wouldn't mind the titles you suggested (although HD upgrades of ps1 games is near pointless, because they would have to remake the game for it to matter, otherwise, might as well just buy the ps1 game, which all ps3's can play), you shouldn't dismiss Sly Cooper.
Maybe you have never played the games, but they are amazing, and this was a perfect series to do an HD release, since all the games were on the ps2, all great games, and capable of HD upgrades with...
Of course it's just opinion, but I think the greatly improved gameplay, dialogue and presentation of the second one (and multiplayer, if you play it) far outweigh the slightly better story of the first one.
As for difficulty, I don't think there was much of a difference in terms of actual difficulty. The biggest thing that probably made it seem easier than the first one is that the checkpoints were much closer together in UC2. I know I probably died a lot more on Cr...
Lists like this are NEVER done well. All they do is pick 10 or so of the most popular games and then make up reasons why they are overrated to draw hits.
Yes, the lists usually have a few that belong there, but I guess it's just too hard for these morons to realize that some games deserve the praise they receive.
Seriously though, look at the games on the list. With a few exceptions (which leads me to believe this person sure loves a certain system), ...
I'm hoping they do the same treatment for Persona 4. While 3 is one of the best RPGs released on the ps2, Persona 4 is better. The graphics weren't much of an upgrade, so porting it shouldn't be much more difficult than p3.
I really (really) hope they announce a ps3 Persona 5 soon. One of my most anticipated announcements, along with a ps3 Dark Cloud 3.
Yeah, this is a really good list. Which is very rare, because these types of lists usually vary a LOT compared to my own opinion. Maybe I would take out/add one or two, and change the order of a few, but overall, very good list.
*some spoilers for MGS4*
I agree completely with #1 (mainly the salute) and 2. The main thing I would change is that instead of number 3 (which was great and would be on my list somewhere), I would put in the end of MGS4 before t...
@fastrez
I sure hope not. Scrooge is the coolest old guy (guy of the anatidae family, anyway) ever. I would hate to tarnish that impression by comparing him to a self-serving @hole like Kotick.
Actually, knowing who she is modeled after, kind of helped me picture her (Yvonne Strahovski) while playing. Anyone who claims the real life woman is ugly has some of the worst taste imaginable.
The Last Guardian will probably come out next year, as well. If it does, it has to be in the top 3 as almost guaranteed to be a contender.
