No where has Sony said "We will not be showing any new, exclusive games".
It's a massive reach to assume that to be the case, especially when there are plenty of Studios that could be working on fresh, unannounced projects.
Japan Studio has massive resources, a major chunk of which has been busy on a big game since early this gen.
Insomniac developed Ratchet and Spidey concurrently for two+ years.
From Software hasn't released an...
There aren't any double standards here, Sony had a constant stream of exclusives from the very first year and each subsequent one after that, quality titles.
PS3 had sold around 50M by now, with almost 400M units of software sold, that's not ever to be considered as a dead system, far from it and I don't think XBox One has been called one either.
PS3 was doing a hell of a lot better than XB1 was at this point in time, even if XB1 isn't a d...
Amazon UK has Detroit available for Pre-order, Spidey is listed but unavailable, so it's not everything in the UK.
PS4 still has like 10 pages of pre-orders for the system on Amazon UK.
Me too.
They're basically saying if you get lucky you'll manage to beat it in 30 hours, most likely you'll go off the beaten path, have to deal with hordes of Freakers, different animals and gangs, which will likely extend playtime considerably.
This sounds awesome.
I'm so hyped for this game, easily as much as Spidey, Dreams and Ghost.
It wasn't delayed for development reasons, more because of a little title called Red Dead Redemption 2.
Basically Sony wants to give the game a chance and not let it get mixed in with such a giant.
Makes sense to do that considering Days Gone is a new IP.
This game looks like it's going to be a real gem. The environments look varied, good use of physics, weather effects, vehicles (the bike seems really important), varied weapons and great AI.
The potential for strategic environmental interactions looks like it's going to be a load of fun in this game.
I can't wait!!
Arms, Xenoblade, Splatoon, Fast RMX and Labo are all new things, maybe not so much Xenoblade because it's the 3rd game, but it's pretty fresh feeling, but those games coming in the first year was pretty damn good.
I totally agree with your points here.
I own a base PS4, bought my Switch to take on the go, but I also use it on my TV as well because I want to play it's games on the big screen.
I see no reason to buy an XBox this gen, the games hold no real interest for me, when I can afford to build my PC I'll probably pick up Forza Horizon 3/4, Gears 4, Ori and Cuphead.
You just don't need an Xbox now.
Building a decent PC has become pr...
Well clearly Switch is capable enough for great Nintendo games to run on it, sure 3rd Party titles are more demanding from a hardware perspective, but to get the likes of Breath of The Wild on a portable system to fit in your hands concessions needed to be made.
Sure Nintendo could have used a 16nm version of the Tegra X1, which would have allowed Switch to house a faster clocked version of the SoC, by about 25%, unless Nintendo wanted to make a bigger box they were always ...
I'm loving my Nintendo Switch, it's a great little system.
Mario Odyssey is utterly phenomenal IMO, Labo is a load of fun (even for adults that like creative things), Zelda BoTW, Splatoon 2, Xenoblade, Arms, MK8, Bayonetta, Fast RMX and Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle are all great fun.
I think I play my Switch as much as my PS4 and PSVR.
Tbh it all depends on whether you like a good chunk of the games on each system, but too me the stuff I have for m...
The Switch's Pro Controller is very comfortable, but it lacks Analog Triggers.
I definitely use it over the Joycon's in regular games, but after trying all of the controllers this gen the DS4 is the best for comfort and it's update is very durable too.
Literally the only issue with the DS4 is it's battery life, which is still long enough for lengthy play sessions.
The only thing this article gets right is the Backwards Compatibility situation, the rest is a bunch of nonsense or subjective to the point of ridiculousness.
They think PS4 can't use external HDDs (it can and for quick access to game data).
They talk about the DS4, it's one of the most comfortable controllers ever made and it has every feature you could want from an analogue controller.
The system has access to Spotify for music, which is availabl...
As much as passion for great game development is important, these are businesses and they need to make money to keep going, they want to make a huge amount of profit because that's natural in business.
The best way to make a fortune in the case of producing goods or services is to provide the best that you can.
RDR2 sounds awesome and like it will be worth the wait.
It depends on the salary of each person working on the game, say full development, with a studio of 500 staff for 6 years, at an average of $60K per person, that's $180M, it could be higher if it's 8 year's total development time.
This game could be getting on for $300M, before marketing costs and distribution.
Double that cost, I wouldn't be shocked if it cost $500m to $600m to make and market when all is said and done.

@Concertoine this point supports the OP's point, third party games like Call of Duty barely even sold a few million units on Wii, it was a completely different story on PS3 and 360 and GTA sold way more than that franchise.
Wii was mainly bought by people for Wii Sports, with Nintendo's other games and Just Dance being the next most popular franchises on the system.
The data supports that Wii was bought for it's motion games and mostly what ca...
IMO the next Halo should be more single player focused, have big environments, lots of physics interactions in environments, even if that means 343i has to forego the 60FPS frame rate target.
Locked 30FPS, with good motion blur felt really smooth on 360 with Halo 4.
Sure 60FPS is a great thing in FPS games, but it shouldn't come at the expense of gameplay features and dynamic environments in modern games.
Maybe 343 can do more with an updated engine on...
I thought ODST and Reach were both considered mainline Halo games, alongside 3 & 4.
In that case there were 4, if only the numbered entries are mainline games then it was 2.
Yeah unless they're going to make a good game I think they should move on from the series.
Perhaps 343i could make a new IP, with their own identity.
XB1 doesn't have many games, most likely the next Halo will be made for all Windows platforms going forward.
I think it'll be made for cross gen and cross platform, with the next XBox being BC.
Either the next Halo game will release this Fall or Fall 2019.
Considering all but one PlayStation home console has launched 6 years after the previous model it's more likely PS5 will launch in 2019, processing technologies reaching production maturity and costs being favourable for a mass produced console, it all supports the greater likelihood of a 2019 launch for PS5.
Even Sony's first party Devs and many partners released their last games with plenty of time to prepare their next titles for launch in time for a Fall 2019 la...
