@Anthony: yeah a 92% on Metacritic is really ruined, the first didn't get a lower score did?
Oh wait Bayonetta 1 is at 84%.
If it wasn't for Nintendo Bayonetta 2 would never have happened and it's great, because Nintendo supports developers, just as Sony does.
Supposedly the trademark for Scalebound has lapsed with Microsoft, but even without that being the case, there's nothing stopping Platinum Games from creating a game using the concepts that Scalebound was built around and give it a different name.
This is exactly what From Software did when they wanted to make Demon's Souls into a multiplat, Sony owns that IP, yet Dark Souls still exists.
The basic gameplay features of riding a Dragon, destroying ...
I have had PS4 since launch, got a Switch towards the end of 2017 and finally got around to buying an XB1-S around Black Friday.
I'm glad I own all three now, if I had to choose which one I would keep if I had to give up 2 of the 3, then it would have to be the PS4 which I would keep, but I would definitely feel like I'm missing out if I couldn't have a Switch and PS4.
After owning the XB1, having access to Gamepass, being able to play Ori, Ge...
Those games, along with Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone and Dreams all look phenomenal.
Owning Dreams is going to be like buying into an ever expanding library of games. After the Beta it's become clear that even with a fraction of the final creative players there's a tonne of talented individuals that will happily sink time into making great and inventive games.
These games all seem very likely to be coming this year, given how polished they are and how long they...
I'm all for trying to get the best deals on my games as I can, but this game isn't just a straight up port, with nothing fresh about it.
It's remade from the ground up for Switch, with new gameplay features, assets, audio, lighting, etc.
Now I don't know if Nintendo have confirmed the release price, but if they can justify charging that price for things like DKTF and other games like that then it's likely many will pay $60 for this.
...
It's a remake, since it's got new gameplay mechanics, assets, audio, lighting and a full on new engine to make it all run.
This is basically inspired by the original, with modernized features.
It's about as close to a new game as you can get.
Astral Chain looks awesome, same goes for Fire Emblem and Daemon X Machina.
The Link's Awakening Remake looks great IMO and Super Mario Maker 2 gives fans what they want and it looks like a load of fun.
This Direct didn't have everything I wanted to see, but it gave me what I needed to see from Nintendo.
Switch has a phenomenal lineup of games coming in the not too distant future.
Yeah this Direct was great IMO, there's very little in the way of exclusives that I'm not interested in on Switch.
Astral Chain and that Zelda: Link's Awakening Remake look phenomenal too me.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses has me sold and prior to that show I wasn't that interest in Mario Maker, but Maker 2 looks like a lot of fun.
Yoshi's Crafted World and Daemon X Machina are right around the corner, the demos were fun to play to...
Backwards Compatibility is actually possible, especially with the performance of Ryzen CPU technology and the improvements in modern GPU tech.
You only have to look up PS3 emulator requirements on current PC builds to see this is the case.
Sony are more likely to have more efficient emulation software because they developed PS3's OS and API, compared to the non-commercially developed software that the PC community have made.
If Sony...
I'll buy it, didn't own a Wii U, like many and think it's in need of a port to Switch.
I suspect they'd at least sell a few million copies of that game on Switch.
I got it recently, haven't played much, but what I have is great.
The ability to look around that world and interact with Captain Astro really makes you a part of that game.
I would definitely recommend it as a showcase for VR, especially if you want a good platformer to play in VR.
Fire Emblem looks awesome, I've never played one before, but I'll be interested to see more of this and hopefully a release date.
Maybe Pikmin 4 could technically be included as it hasn't had a proper announcement yet, maybe that will be one of the games.
Perhaps Retro Studios did make that rumoured Star Fox Grand Prix and the reason they're able to make MP4 now is because it was done a while back, so maybe that will be announced.
Monolith Soft's second Switch game should be ready to reveal.
Some Wii U ports like W101, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Pikmin 3 (hopefully a full...
With what exactly?
We are talking about the next 9 to 10 months right?
I'm actually looking forward to playing Crackdown 3 when it launches (got it downloaded ready for my XB1-S), I'm very hyped for Ori and The Will of The Wisps and interested to play Gears 5, but those are very slim pickings.
This year is pretty empty for XBox only games, maybe as a new XB1 owner I've missed some titles, but those are the only ones that stand out too...
Base.com says it's December 7th 2019, but that may have been the release planned for the game before Nintendo scrapped the older build and decided to get Retro Studios to work on it.
Seems like that date will be changed and this is just a place holder.
Switch could probably run the GTA V Remaster, with similar settings to PS4 and XB1 at about 900p when docked, 720p with a few tweaks here and there in portable mode.
Problems may occur with the storage requirements, though Doom was very big game on PS4 and XB1 and that got optimized to fit smaller storage limits.
If Red Dead Redemption 1 ever gets a port to PS4 or XB1 it could get ported to Switch too.
Hopefully they make sure both have good single player campaigns, playable offline.
Plants Vs Zombies 3 needs a good story mode.
I suspect they'll try to put a BR mode in there, hopefully it's not the sole focus of the game.
BR could be fun in PvS with the towers and maybe some zones that teams have to control.
NFS needs to have a great open world map, with good car handling, fun arcade gameplay like Forza Horizon, with a Fast &am...
@TK: I wouldn't worry too much, Apex essentially seems like the Battle Royale Mode for Titanfall, with it's own querks.
It just happens that it was ready before the next "Premium Titanfall" game is finished.
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of assets and the core gameplay from Apex transfers to the next Titanfall game.
It remains to be seen what will happen with the next Star Wars game coming from Respawn, could be years awa...
They're up to 208 people based on their staff pics on their website.
Looking at how many people worked on Titanfall 2 they made that game in 2 years, with 90 people.
They would have given themselves 3 years to put out a proper 3rd game, so staff numbers could have been lowered or divided over T3 and Apex Legends.
Their Star Wars game could be a ways off and they may not put big resources on it until most of the stuff their making is done.

Proven by the fact it can even run a number of current gen games.
Games like Dark Souls, Skyrim, etc aren't just direct ports of the 7th gen versions of those games, they're adapted from the remade or remastered editions, with better Resolutions, graphical settings and performance.
All of these facts prove the point that Switch is way more powerful than PS3 and XBox 360.
Hell the GPU is straight up Nvidia Maxwell, years more adv...
