You're the one that has to insult people who are actually providing evidence to back up that line of thinking.

At least people who think this eludes to a PS5 reveal and release are backing that theory up with actual evidence to support it, more than just a vague statement of "some thing".

For all of your claims that PS5 is launching in 2021, what evidence have you actually provided to support it that has more points than those who shine a li...

Shame, the concept seemed interesting, but the game videos they showed didn't look great.

I honestly don't know anything about anything this studio has worked on, they should have worked on something less ambitious to begin with and worked their way up to this.

I'll check out their next game if they release footage, but I don't have any faith in this developer.

Exactly.

I'm not basing my points on rumors, I'm basing them on solid facts.
Financial reports always work this way for Sony, the tech is coming at those points in time and none are mistruths.

You're whole argument has always been based around a single vague statement, which can easily be taken to mean Sony are preparing to release most of their next gen games a year or 2 into the life of PS5.

Crouching down to stand tall doesn't really co...

What I wrote is reality, looking at every new console generation launch after a profitable previous generation the financials always show this.

You just keep ignoring the facts.
Tbh whenever Sony choses to launch you don't have to buy it until 2020, 2021 or whenever if you want one.

When history shows a trend why would you think a company would buck that trend?
No one in the company has actually even eluded to the next gen coming 8 y...

Actually Sony's own fiscal projections for 2019 to 2020 are conveniently ommitted, which would show a reduction in profits in line with a new console launch.
2021 would actually represent the uptick in profits after a new console launch.

PS4 will fall in sales substantially when PS5 launches, as per usual during a console launch sales in market fall off compared to the previous year or final one of last gen systems being the current thing.

So...

Nah 2019 is, the hardware will be the perfect price to performance ratio for next gen consoles and plenty of games will be ready by the holidays.

Not like Ryzen or Navi at 7nm will drop any significant amount to make waiting for 2020 a logical course of action from a business perspective.

It makes the most sense for a bunch of reasons, 2020 doesn't get Sony or Microsoft anything from either a performance or cost perspective.

Looks awesome, 2019 looks like a great year for Switch.

PS4 will get Days Gone, Dreams, Concrete Genie, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part 2 and Death Stranding.

PS5 will be officially announced in the Spring of 2019, releasing that holiday with a decent selection of exclusives and next gen games or cross gen releases.
A decent hardware upgrade over current gen systems.

PSVR will also get more great games.

Sony and their partners will have another great year.

Same here, haven't played a snowboarding game for ages, Steep looks like a great winter sports game.

Portal Knight looks fun too.
Not sure about the other games, will have to check them out.

Great month IMO, Steep and Portal both look great fun.

No one needs to be paid to promote PSVR if they own one, I have it and it's awesome, from the quality of the hardware to the games.

It's even awesome value now that the price has come down so much.
I'm not paid by anyone and I'll shout it out how phenomenal the platform is on PlayStation.

A December announcement isn't happening, because it would kill hardware sales in the Holiday season.

It makes zero sense from a business perspective.
No Sony will announce PS5 in the Spring of 2019, 7nm is already in full production, the hardware needed for PS5 and Next-XBox will be plentiful for a Fall 2019 launch.

Costs of 7nm parts will be optimal for release at that time, with no significant reduction in 2020.

If Sony were ...

Even though the PS2 was selling better than any console in history Sony still moved on to PS3 only 6 years after PS2 launched, same thing was true of PS1, with Sony releasing PS2 6 years after it.
PS4 came out 6 and a half years after PS3 in Europe, which is Sony's biggest market.
Point is Sony have never waited 8 years between launching generations.

What matters to the hardware team is what developers want and whether they can meet the design goals of...

Your reasons for saying that are what exactly?

There's nothing supporting 2020.
2019 is way more likely for the reasons I've given multiple times, many others agree.

2722d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Exactly, PS2 was selling like hotcakes when PS3 got released and that's the best selling console ever, there's no argument for PS4 selling great so Sony won't launch until sales die off.

Most people bought a PS4 earlier in the generation, like 30 million to 40 million bought one by late 2015, those same people will mostly be moving on to PS5 if it's available in late 2019.
Late adopters would wait for PS5 until years into that generation, not buy it...

Then Sony would have released the tease on PS4's 5th anniversary, which was the 15th if November and they would have put a 4 on the end.

Play5tation is a clear tease of things to come, they wouldn't be doing it if they weren't planning to announce PS5 very soon.

Seems pretty obvious.

2722d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

You don't get it, it's not just that the tech is ready, it will be plenty available to cover several million units by the time Sony and MS need Foxconn to begin assembling units in late summer or early Fall.

2020 is the more mythical number for this and many other reasons I've already given.

2723d ago 0 agree3 disagreeView comment

They're not really set up to dominate, especially not in this generation.
Sony has games lined up that are not only established from a marketing perspective, but they also have a far larger and better quality stable of exclusives and overall platform popularity which just has this snowball effect on the global market's buying habits.

XBox would need to have basically matched Sony at every turn throughout this gen and topped them for real exclusives going in...
