It's really not, the guy's voice sounds right.

Sony under promised and over delivered on this State of Play for sure.
They only said we would get an update on Medievil and an announcement of one other new game.

They revealed a huge new expansion for Monster Hunter World, gave an update on FF7 Remake, revealed more of Medievil, along with it's release date.
They announced 2 major new exclusives with one being a huge new Predator game and a game that basically puts you in a David Attenborough Blue Pl...

I think it's probably down to which PCIE standard PCs currently have, there was a delay of 4.0 and 5.0 is around the corner.
Sony could be using something they developed that increases that speed or maybe it has something to do with chips being soldered to PS5's motherboard.

Cerny didn't say whether it's PCIE or whatever, whatever PS5 Dev kits are using could go into consumer PC tech later this year or around the time PS5 launches.

Having an SSD as the standard for storage is going to be great, using Ryzen as their CPU architecture should also help with decoding data from the hard drive and data management in general.

More memory bandwidth and a far bigger RAM pool should also help a lot with loading times.

Are there games you're done with on your internal drive?
You could delete a couple of games to free up the space internally for Rage 2 and Days Gone.

Maybe give the PS4 a defrag (I forget what Sony call it).
Could be your external drive needs to be reformatted to make it usable.

I play most of my games off of my external drive (a 4TB one) because my PS4 only has a 500GB drive, it's a launch model from November 2013 and I've n...

Glad I got a 4TB external HDD for 500GB launch PS4.
My backlog is too big to get any new games for while, I'll probably wait to pick up this and a bunch of other games I want to get later in the year.
PS Plus is still growing my collection too.

With Gamepass and Live I've almost filled my XB1-S's 1TB drive, without installing more than a pretty small fraction of the stuff I'd like to play through too.

I'm glad I'm...

Awesome news, shame it's not coming this year as I thought, considering those technologies will be releasing to the consumer market soon it must be because the first crop of exclusives won't be ready this year.

I was shocked that Sony confirmed these details as it will surely effect PS4 sales for the rest of the year.
Pretty likely we'll get something more revealing very soon, otherwise Cerny wouldn't have held this interview.

TFlops are really quite meaningless comparing one GPU to another.
All TFlops tell you is the number of Stream Processors or Cuda Cores, times by 2 operations, then times by the clock speed.

One GPU could have half the Cuda Cores, maybe lower clock speeds, yet still have the ability to push higher resolutions, with better settings.
The reason that GPU is faster than the one with more Cores is because the small GPU has more capable architecture.

It wouldn't be that simple, for logistics reasons.
Google are building their Blade Servers based around Vega 56, with all units clocked to 1474MHz, they have to bare in mind what the thermal output of the multiple units they'll have in each building, which could be filled with an ungodly number of racks.

Swapping out a single rack, for a new spec device is going to alter the uniform nature of their hardware design.
Scaling to multiple Stadia Blades...

TFlops are about as irrelevant as GHz or MHz in hardware comparisons.
The architecture will be far more important than those things.
You could have a 2TFlop GPU with faster core architecture that will destroy a 12TFlop Card if the tech in each Stream Processor or Cuda Core is enough of an improvement in throughput.

Crytek already disproved the notion that RTX Tech is needed for Ray Tracing, with their Ray Tracing demo that was running on a Vega 56 card. ...

When have Sony said they gave up E3 to do this?
Last I checked Sony hasn't said this replaced their E3 presentation, they can organise their marketing to be delivered whenever they like and clearly them deciding to not hold an E3 presentation was because they want to do things on their terms, instead of being forced to talk and show new games or updates on previously announced at their leisure.

State of Play is whatever Sony wants it to be, whatever is ready fo...

No one knows, it's just what Sony wanted to do at this time.

People have definitely been unjustifiably hating on it, it had great looking games, a good pace and hardly any talk from presenters, which you can't say for many of these things.

People are just moaning because it's Sony doing it and others overhyped the event telling themselves that The Last of Us Part 2, Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima would be getting the focus.

The games shown were obviously first up for marketing at this stage.

State of Play has definitely been unjustifiably hated on by most of the people commenting about it, it had a great pace, lots of games and very little chat from the presenter of it.

The concept of this VR game sounds awesome, I can't wait to see more.
Blood and Truth was the highlight of the event.

Naughty Dog are owned by Sony, poor example, as Sony would never sell them and Naughty Dog shows no sign of wanting to leave Worldwide Studios.

Nothing, latency is the killer here, local hardware all the way.

Sony basically has to continue on the track their on, but release a good upgrade to PS4 to allow Devs to do more, which is all but confirmed to be what they're doing, plus they do also own the game streaming business right now, so having an upgraded blade server to add PS5 games to PS Now basically guarantees them a win there.

Nintendo will likely release an upgraded switch model to work...

God knows, Google haven't said anything about how the financials of this work now, maybe you'll get a free trial to try a few things, but no one knows the details yet.

Google were stupid to leave these kinds of core details out of the picture.
