I think applying for a patent for this is kinda BS, and being awarded said patent is even worse. I'm intrigued, though - could this be a programmable procedural change by the player, the way you could make conditional things happen in your AI characters in FF12? That might have been my favorite thing about 12, it was if-then statement programming 101 in the wrapper of an RPG. I'd love to see that again.
Go get Tokyo Jungle! What a cool game that was.
Wow, I'm impressed by the amount of Angry Joe love (hehe) on Foxtrot's comment! I don't always agree with Joe, and he *does* play up his persona a bit much for my tastes sometimes, but I think he's a great internet entertainer, and I especially enjoy his list videos.
Later on, he posted this: "Guys me & @DanStapleton have talked via DMs. Was apologies all around for the harsh words exchanged. We should have taken higher roads."

A couple of things could fix the issue:
- A cheaper system reboot with a price drop: People would buy a system for Mario Kart and SSB if it weren't so overpriced given the limited library. This would be tough since the gamepad is the expensive part of the system - I think Nintendo would have to reboot the system itself and its manufacturing process in order to make this happen.
If we don't hear that at e3, it's never going to happen in any game- ...
Agreed! Kudos to PC Gamer for bringing Durante in, that was amazing.
If you sold your ps3, knowing full well that Persona 5 was coming out for it later on - especially if you experienced that same thing with P4 on the ps2 - I have zero sympathy for you. Keep that console for a while.
Check the article - it's the apology the writer has an issue with.
Using that fanbase to help people is absolutely fine. It's a great thing to do.
The jokes didn't make him a "bad person." We all make mistakes. It's also tougher to discuss independent vlogger ethics due to the fact that their product wasn't initially set out to cast such a wide net- people just caught on.
Still, the argument's a little messy, Yoda. If I make a dumb joke, and I've hurt a friend by making it, I'm not going...
While I think it's extremely dumb of them to cut the lighting out completely just because old consoles couldn't do it, seeing this run in 60fps even before day one on the Giantbomb Quick Look made me grin from ear to ear.
I'm not too bothered by it, as that was an early build and they moved quickly making this sequel, but it is yet another "We built this on PC and realized the other stuff couldn't handle it" build, which is becoming this year's &...
Oh, that whole Valkyria Chronicles thing was a mess. Not only was it a bad idea to move it to the PSP, but they decided to change the entire tone of the game from this great hearfelt-wartime setting to a freaking stereotypical anime academy.
It was a huge cynical move on the whole - making a PSP game will cut the budget, because who buys the sequel to a critically well-received game anyway, right? Let's cater it to only a particular Japanese demographic while we're a...
Huh! Looks like a MOBA/TPS. Two genres I don't care for, but it looks ambitious from a design perspective. At least they're trying to be different out of the gate.
Jesus tap-dancing Jones, if you haven't played Super Crate Box or Luftrausers or the early-access-but-still-amazing Nuclear Throne and you have the gall to call a Vlambeer game "weak," just go play one first.
Heck, Super Crate Box is 100% no-BS free. http://www.supercratebox.co...
Maybe it's not your cup of tea, and maybe you couldn't last a second in SFMT mode, but good lord,...
This isn't some standoff between the company Vlambeer and the company Microsoft. It's Rami Ismail having a problem with some of the administrators keeping the highly inventive ID@Xbox guys from making a great, cost-effective program for often cash-strapped independent developers. EA fails, programmers get laid off. The two-person Vlambeer fails, they're personally SOL and broke. There's no "punishing" Microsoft from this perspective. He even said in that same tweet t...
That Plok soundtrack is awesome - it's by the Follin brothers, who also did a ton of great C64 games and the amazing tracks for the not amazing game, Silver Surfer.
Wait, so you have to be hot to get a job on the next Halo? Thanks, headline. I'll apply right away ;)
That's a good point, and you also have to figure PR, marketing, and advertising into this entire argument - it's lacking for both the video and this Xbox One argument.
For example, yes, Modern Warfare 2 sold a ton more copies than the previous two CoDs. Some of that is indeed from the familiarity - the original MW, CoD 4, had an amazing single-player campaign. Most of it, though, was a giant advertising blitz. With Activision knowing full well that this game was hot, ...
They do if they were in on the first generation of smartphones. They were huge back then!
Yes! Use the D-pad for sure! I rigged my PC to work with a Dual Shock 3 so I could use its D-pad on this game, it's way way better. After all, there are three directions - left, right, and forward. No need for an analog stick.
As far as the missiles, they're the weirdest weapon. It's not you. But they're really good for maintaining air combos and downing boats once you get the hang of it.
Hm. For the size of the content, I get why people would want it priced at 5 bucks. On paper, that's how it looks, and of course it would be less of a barrier to entry.
Still, what you're paying for there is a couple of years of polish on a simple premise - a ton of thought behind the controls, the balancing, the generation of enemies, the art style, etc. It feels the way a Porsche drives, and if you had to decide between a tricked-out Corolla and a standard-features P...
This just in! It will be made by a company with more than three people on staff! It will also be available in a disc format, and that disc will come in a box! It will use the long-awaited, much-rumored Dual Shock 4! Sources are saying it's definitely a "game" and surprisingly enough, "you play it on a TV." Another source says it's "pretty sweet. Oh, I'm talking about this jar of honey over there, I have no idea about the game."
Othe...
