Meh. The New 3DS improved the overall experience, I don't think it invalidates the existence of it. It's pretty cheap now, too.
I don't think most 3DS buyers will be sour if a new portable is set to arrive soon.
Game franchises and characters are not the same thing. Mario's gameplay and level designs evolved over the years, at least from Mario Bros. up to Super Mario Galaxy.
And like how Spider-Man goes on alternate universe tracks, movies, and new designs, Mario has wound up being in new RPGs, racers, and sports games. And those games changed how games in those genres worked in interesting ways. Can't say the same for Superman At Earth's End or One More Day, that's ...
Nice! I do love how actual Simon Miller keeps it as personal as possible. He knows he's not some authority on high, he just wants to share his stuff.
Some great shmups on sale. Check out Astebreed for sure.
If you still have a PS3, check out Soldner X-2 Final Prototype with the Last Chapter DLC. They realized it was lacking a good endgame stage and fixed it.
Kojima's hidden love for Nuclear Throne is revealed.
Atlus doesn't need Persona 5 to sell as much as FFXV. They're a very different company.
Notice just how long it takes an Atlus studio to make a Persona game, and how it's often made at the tail-end of a console cycle or, in this case, so late that they had to put it on the new console too.
That's all deliberate. The team's small, so they have less staff costs over time. They know it's a cult-classic franchise that only a particular aud...
I'm pretty sure we JRPG fans would just save up our money and get both. I mean, FFXV is an important release whether it's awesome or not, and Persona 5 will be guaranteed to have one of the best soundtracks ever because Shoji Meguro is doing it as usual. It's a win-win.
Oh, there's a reason alright. Japan.
Seriously, the chibi thing isn't done for Westerners at all in terms of market strategy, even though a few will love the idea.
... WHOA. Huizinga! How did I forget that? Thanks for pointing it out, man!
It's a pretty good vision statement coming from a guy who has the talent to back it up and then some. Doesn't sound pretentious to me. If anything, he's speaking to gamers first and business people later by immediately sharing his company's vision statement and not making it business-like and dull.
LOL, I'd waste hours and hours looking for those!!
The author, though. I don't get his logic:
"It’s when publishers hold meetings with the AAA guys and gals that make me wince.
I’m totally aware that free markets allow for those types of deals to occur, but it totally divides the gaming community into more parts, and bigwigs don’t give a lick about it."
In a way, sure. Gamers and independent auteurs are ofte...
It looks really cool, and the music's great, especially that transition music between stages.
Unfortunately, I really can't pay that much for it at the moment. May have to wait for a sale.
Right? It's not like Xbox is really supporting their classic games, and unfortunately you're more likely to find a broken classic Xbox than a functional one. I need some HD Panzer Dragoon Orta / JSRF in my life...
I think it's a little of both us getting old and it having a few issues. There are things about MK8 that I just love - 60fps in high-def with this style just works so well. It pops off the screen - my cat goes nuts just looking at it. The stage design is super-creative, with my favorites being the more vertical levels.
My issue with MK8 has been my issue with many Mario Karts over the years, though - it's largely a multiplayer game without much single-player content a...
I completely disagree with nuking an emulator's production. This isn't just how some pirates play a few games, it's how these creative works can be transformed by modifications. Not to mention it's how some kids wind up getting to know code and hardware engineering, by emulating something they're interested in.
Playing these games on an emulator is usually pretty underwhelming. As we've learned about the SNES over the years, you're better off with ...
Yeah, and considering this didn't exactly blow up in the States, I'm guessing this won't get outside of Japan either.
I actually liked the live-action movie myself!
If you're hard up for cash, I'd wait to see what the NX is (and we really don't have a clue). If you have the cash and like Nintendo first-party games, wait until the Zelda 2016 bundle is out. If you have the cash and absolutely love Nintendo first-party games, it's a good purchase.
Agreed! Far better than Beta 1, too. Great job responding to feedback, guys!
I really hope they'll add him after their first round of new characters... and Twelve while they're at it.
So long as they keep his stage's music largely intact, I'm glad they're changing him. He wasn't that great.
