Totally agree with article. I paid for Live for 5 years until December 2012 and I'm never paying for it again. What a waist of money. I'll just use my PS3.
Definitely in no rush to buy the Next Xbox, if PS4 has free online, it will definitely be my console of choice, as 99% of my favourite games are multiplats.
#1) PS4 to have free online MP
Stuff like this makes me so happy I didn't renewed my Gold subscription after it expired in December.
Penny pinching and nickel and diming will bring the Xbox division down next-gen, I'm not paying for online again and my 360 without it seems crippled or boring so I never use it anymore.
My PS3 gets all the love now, and that will continue onto PS4 unless MS has a free online option that grants you MP with features.
Kinect was like an iPhone game, super fun for 10 minutes, then the most boring thing in the world thereafter.
I think this time around supremacy will be awarded to the console with the most free online.
Yeah because I'll be playing sooo many PS1 and PS2 games on my PS4.
Get over BC and keep your consoles. Let Sony spend that money on more power, better build quality, bigger HD, more ports, a free game, etc.
I still have my PS1, PS2, and PS3 - I didn't touch my PS1 this gen and I played MG3 on PS2 for literally 5 minutes before I said f'this blurry mess, I'm getting the HD Version for 14.99 with 3 games.
Gamers think they w...
Sony has never lost, it tied.
Well it depends on who you include in the numbers, I bet core gamers won't shrink but a lot of the Wii buyers probably moved on to playing games on their phones and pads so that's probably 50 million less console buyers.
I never understood the big deal with BC. I bet most people spend the majority of their time playing next-gen games on their next-gen systems, not last gen ones.
For the odd time you really want to play a last-gen game, keep you last-gen consoles and plug it in.
People complain so much about their next-gen systems not including the old gen system the already have.
I sincerely hope Sony/MS spend the money that they would have spent on BC on ...
It should release before we're inundated with next-gen games; GTA will seem less exciting if it decidedly last gen looking. Graphics are often relative, once you see a significant jump all that came before looks bad.
With next-gen consoles you'll see a huge difference between BF and COD.
Graphically, BF on current gen is obviously too much but when huge open maps and vehicles are running smoothly, COD may look like a last-gen game with more polish.
Would it matter how it was sold? It was a dicktits game in gameplay and story. Any other type of marketing would have been a complete lie....
Oh I see what Belinksi meant, he wanted a very serious commercial that implies the games will have a deep mature story that elicits a real emotional connection like Gears.
...then the game's emotional depth will be non-existent and pale in comparison to the commercials disappointing gamers, like Gears.
I'm not at all impressed with Crysis 3 graphics, it just looks like a high-res version of current gen games.
I have Uncharted 3 and Halo 4. Just because something looks good for the hardware it's on doesn't mean it looks that good.
I've seen DS/PSP games that look great for the hardware, doesn't mean they're good looking games.
COD sells over 10 mill copies each year on PS3, MS would have to pay Activision around $500 million to make it exclusive. Never happen.
I can't wait till this gen is over so people stop arguing about PS3 graphics. Who cares now, both consoles are both completely outdated in terms of graphics.
Wii U is selling less than PS3/360 per week - it's off to a very slow start.
I think Wii U would benefit from a PSN Plus type service.
More gamers found Nathan Drake this gen than Laura Croft if that says anything. But Nathan (ND) could learn from the earlier Tomb Raider games by implementing a more open world and gadgets.
The biggest Xbox announcement for me would be free online MP, only then would they be a contender.
