"The media has no effect on developments" - is blatantly untrue. The media helps shape peoples attitudes, moods, emotional response to situations, biases and vocabulary. Media studies and common sense both back that up. If you had your own kid you'd even SEE it happen on a regular basis. A (decent) parent will frequently have to explain things in the media or discourage behaviour presented in it to stop it being emulated, feared or misunderstood. All. The. Time. Entire industrie...
In mortal kombat the violence was so unrealistic and silly it fits into the same sort of Tom and Jerry cartoon violence category.. When you punch people blood came out in melon-sized droplets.. It was pixelly as hell.. MK compared to GTAV is night and day for problems..
The MK violence had well established context too.. Its not exactly set in a realistic setting, and its a fight to the death tournament.. Which don't exist in real life. And robots. And breathing fire. And ...
Haha! You sound exactly like a GTA talk radio station. Meat? Really?
Are you suggesting all parents are responsible enough to judge? Legislation (when well thought out) to protect the vulnerable and easily influenced (in this case kids) is very much a good thing. Id say you're the one being ignorant about parents here.
"Do anything detrimental to the child" ? Young kids don't need the baggage. It would massively overcomplicate their develop...
An average cutoff age makes perfect sense though. No parents need to be explaining curb stomping, torture and sex scenes to *young* children, and if they're stupid enough to let them play it I'm pretty sure they aren't going to be explaining effectively. Hell, explaining satire (eg how gta treats minorities and women) to most kids isn't going to work as they don't have the life experience to understand it.
Its wrong to think the parent knows their kid best...
EA almost certainly shop around for the best promotional partners for every release. Its part of the system now and i wouldn't put the blame entirely at Apple's door. EA, Activision, Bethesda do this with their DLC all the time and likely have a team cementing these sort of deals, probably to do with advertising revenue and placement rather than actual money.
In the long run it probably helps sales, it just sucks when you're not the preferred platform.
They aren't that bad. They sell tools and software.
The tools have specific software support.. There are well informed apple customers as well as the "sheep" - id be pretty stuck without some of my apple-only hardware and software. Other people wouldn't be. Apple aren't controlling my preferences, there just aren't good alternatives for some usage scenarios.
Tell me.. What violent videogames "like" gta5 did you play when you were a kid?
Given that it features first person topless lap dances, interactive (graphic) torture, graphic drug use, curb stomping, buttsex , etc.. Even if a game you played did have content like it would be based on old tech and nowhere neat as much of an issue.
You really have no idea.
As already pointed out.. Nobody buys physical on PC and its terrible for stores anyway (cant sell it second hand) stores have no interest in pushing digital distribution platforms that would ultimately put them out of business.
I have a lot of friends with hundreds of games in their Steam libraries. Just warching my friends list, theyre constantly buying new titles. Generally everythings much smoother, and often a lot prettier. (Far c...
@ANIALATOR136 - Agreed, but R* North is a Scottish studio, most dev companies use international talent. They're still working on a Scottish export, though British makes more sense from a workforce perspective.
Scotland are probably pretty proud of it tbh which is fair enough.
@Muffins1223 - that makes no sense. Its developed by a Scottish team in Scotland, contains Scottish references and has a lot of very typically British humour - its about the US, yes, but thats it.
Thats like saying Resident Evil isn't Japanese because its set in and about the US. GTA is NOT an American game however you look at it.
But tanks and planes never manage to take out Godzilla and co.. ever! I don't know why they even bother.
Also, I'm not sure that would sell at all - none of the many other Godzilla games have.
Failing to keep up with sales and popularity and dead are pretty extremely different things! Obviously they still release good stuff, just not as much of it.
You don't have to be no.1 to be worthwhile. Hell.. GTAV is essentially Scottish, does that mean Scotland "wins"?
She looked like terrible 90s inhuman cg with painted on clothing before. Its a good job they changed her a lot.
Good of him to explain his reasoning and issues further.
I can see where hes coming from but im pretty sure im going to enjoy a lot of the bits he didnt.
Its a great thing to have reviews and analysis from different perspectives.
Use the splitter work-around? Youtube has many vids explaining what you need to do it, but basically;
http://www.amazon.com/Sewel... - bypasses HDCP entirely, and there's no reason to think it won't work on PS4 too.
I use the splitter method. It will also work on the ps4. :) id bet on it.
Capture devices already work on ps4 using the same HDCP workarounds we use for the ps3 over hdmi.
Seriously. HDCP is HDCP.
As awesome as both platforms are (obviously)
Planetside is made by Sony so I wouldn't exactly expect them to be totally unbiased. ;)
One thing that IS interesting though is if you get something like 3DMark (or even the steam surveys) - what most PC gamers consider a "high end" gaming rig is actually a VERY high end gaming rig.. I mean I have CPU/Mobo (Phenom quad core) that are years old but I still score in the top 25% of 3DMark scores - with a...
You can EASILY use a capture card on the PS3 over HDMI with a cheap splitter. I do this routinely with Elgato game capture HD.
Therefore you'll be able to do the same on the ps4.
All this misinformation is frustrating. Loads of people capture from the ps3 over HDMI, ther are videos all over YouTube explaining the various ways it can be achieved. It's worth doing as the picture quality beats component and the cabling is less annoying.
Its a joke article guys..
