@KUV1977 "How I completely dislike those misleading headlines. Nolan North says he doesn't want to be asked..."
Actually, while the headline - in typical journalistic fashion - makes it sounds like a bigger issue than the article reveals it to be, Nolan is the first one to bring up the subject in the interview with these words (which I obviously fully sympathize with):
"... It’s very frustrating for any actor to have someone who’s a cel...
I really don't care about the reasons, I just feel that the next console generation (and based on the info available I don't count Wii U as belonging to that, merely playing graphical catch up with the current gen) can't come soon enough.
Yes, the PS3 and 360 can still deliver really beautiful graphics. But more often than not only in 720p at 30 fps, and if you add stereoscopic 3D to the mix (some of us bought a 3D TV for a reason after all :)) the additional tr...
While this game is flawed in a number of areas, as a rally game experience it beats Dirt 3 and 2 combined by a country mile simply by virtue of it's vastly more comprehensive collection of rally stages.
It's also generally a much more challenging experience (playing with a Logitech G25 wheel) than the Dirt games, both thanks to some very tight and twisty tracks thrown in among the faster more sweeping ones, just as there's a very large difference in feel between the diffe...
Wasn't it possible to complete Morrowind in something like ten minutes? Or was that only through a bug or exploit?
Anyway as both the article and other commenters have pointed out, for the average player it really doesn't matter much how long it takes for a tester who's been through every nook and cranny of the game countless times, to finish the main quest line. If there's one thing the Elderscrolls series is definitely not known for, it's being short o...
The video looks ugly as hell in full screen - and so dark it completely crushes all shadow detail - but I imagine it's probably just because of lousy video quality, despite claiming it's in 1080p HD.
I'm too much of a wuss for this game so I'll be trading it in for Arkham City in a week.
I died maybe around 8-10 times in the 25-30 hours I played Demon's Souls. I died 35 times to the Taurus Demon boss in Dark Souls. And I'm currently tearing my hair out (well, I would if it was long enough so I could get a grip) over the Gargoyle.
I love most of the sections I've been through (well, except for that part I had to wade through 35 time...
According to the Eurogamer Digital Foundry analysis (and the side-by-side 3D HD gameplay videos they provided), ICO is supposed to be a great experience in 3D, while SOTC reportedly has frequently severe framerate problems (and the aforementioned gameplay videos I downloaded and watched in 3D seemed to confirm that).
Has your SOTC experience been different?
"Ghost of Sparta and KZ3 was pretty bad (cross talk and jaggies)"
Those two don't even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence when it comes to 3D.
KZ3 - like so many other graphically intensive 3D games - suffered a range of problems starting with fairly severe graphical trade-offs, over some minor framerate issues (fortunately not nearly to the extent some 3D games have) and indeed a tendency towards crosstalk issues, although I managed to get ...
Finally I got a chance to drive this car. I never made it to level 30 (was that when the race unlocked before?) before I took a break from GT5 until a few weeks ago.
I had expected the X1 to feel pretty terrible, but it's a total blast to drive - at least with wheel and pedals (Logitech G25), I imagine keeping it under control with a gamepad could be a fairly daunting task. At least with a wheel it's only my slow reflexes rather than my fiddly thumbs getting in the ...
What the hell has this guy been smoking? Even flawed as it is, Dead Island is at the absolutely very least worth a 7/10 - and in my opinion it's closer to a 9.
Well, my ADHD is almost certainly the reason why I almost never finish games (I've probably only done that with a little over a handful in the last decade or more) and why I tend to abruptly lose interest in a game I've been playing and loving one day but can't be bothered to continue with the next or any of the following days.
But then I'm a 34 year old man and not a kid :). I'm also not on on any medication, as Ritalin - in couple of months I tried it ...
As much as I'm heavily partial to racing games I can play with a force feedback wheel (Logitech G25), I've loved the WipEout series ever since I played the first one on a rented PS1 in the mid 90s.
I didn't play most of the series between then and HD though (I was exclusively a PC gamer until a few years ago), but WipEout HD (Fury) is definitely among my favourite racing games.
Doesn't hurt that it looks and still plays great on my new 3D TV as well...
I traded in the PS3 version of F1 2011 for Dirt 3 the day after buying it.
I was very disappointed with the graphics (I have no clue whether they are better or worse than the other console version, I was just disappointed), and more importantly the framerate didn't feel smooth at all (rather crucial for a 30 fps racing game) and the force feedback on my G25 felt as sluggish as it did with the PS3 version of F1 2010.
It's difficult to believe that this game ...
480p material doesn't need to look particularly poor on a large 1080p TV - at least not if we're talking about video rather than last generation games.
Most fairly recent DVD movies/TV shows (720x576 in PAL rather than the 720x480 I believe is used for NTSC?) look perfectly fine on my 51" 1080p TV. Hell, it's even sharp enough for the built in 2D to 3D conversion feature to do an okay job with it.
Obviously though, even with an upscaling player a D...
Great. I've been looking forward to this and last time I checked they still hadn't fixed the problems that prevented it from running on the Samsung Galaxy S II, so I couldn't even try the Android version.
And yeah for 3D support :). I hadn't expected that.
Although is there any word yet whether we can expect a Euro release the same week?
It might be flawed but this is one of my favourite games (PC version) so far of 2011.
And since I haven't actually run into any game breaking bugs - and the modding community quickly made a few improvements to things like field of view - I would give Dead Island at least an 8.5 and probably a 9.
Download speeds are usually fine for me on Steam. Around nine times out of ten when I download a game I get around 2-4 MB/s (on a 50 Mbit connection that tops out at 6 MB/s), which means - assuming an average of 3 MB/s - 1.8 GB per ten minutes, so even very large games are usually downloaded in well under an hour.
Of course there's a mandatory install for a PS store game (it's a 1.9 GB download) :) - or is there a disc version as well?
I bought it half an hour ago despite being rather hesitant given that the price is more than twice as much as I had expected (I had always assumed it would be in typical "small download game" price territory, rather than close to typical retail game price).
The verdict is still out on whether I'm going to regret my purcha...
"It still remains to be seen though whether we’re actually see a PS4 or Xbox 720 but it is very unlikely that both Sony and Microsoft wouldn’t want to compete with Nintendo’s Wii U."
That's not really going to be a competition, is it?
As I've understood it the Wii U is only expected to be marginally more powerful than the borderline antique PS3 and 360 hardware, so I imagine the PS4 and 720 will make the Wii U look more or less like the regular Wi...
I thought it was rather disturbing. And I sell online porn for a living :).
