Nice, although the one he's referring to as "unique" isn't a map, it's machina mode. I'm pretty sure.
Hmm i dunno about Resistance 3, didn't Insomniac say/hint that they're doing a new IP next? I hope it's a new IP.
I think I just sh!t my pants. I've gotta get to Japan...
True, though I'd put PSP go and PS3 slim above that on the worst-kept secret list lol
I'm amused by the fact that after reading an article that tries to trash this game, I'm already itching to go back and play its relentless awesomeness. Too bad my tv's occupied right now.. although there's an upstairs overlook down to my living room, maybe I can just do a quick glide kick...
I third that.
The level design also seems a lot more open-ended, what with the new space gameplay and all. And if they keep Quest for Booty's dialogue choices, that'll help too.
I say the same thing about multiplayer-only games.
Or leaderboards. I'm guessing the thing on the back of the boxart that says "multiplayer, leaderboards, in-game invite" etc etc is just referring to the PSN itself, not the game. Since they have a PSN logo on there there's probably SOME type of online feature, but not necessarily multiplayer. There was also a PSN logo in the E3 trailer, which Uncharted 2's trailer also had but Heavy Rain's didn't, so there's got to be SOME type of PSN functionality, as minimal as it may be. Thou...
Didn't Naughty Dog say something similar about Uncharted 2 before they dropped that multiplayer trailer? I've learned that with Sony and Sony's 2nd parties that a flat-out denial of something definitely doesn't rule it out. I hope at the very least they have online and split-screen co-op.
EDIT: also look carefully at the quote, they don't deny a multiplayer component, and they don't say single player ONLY. They just say it's a "single player game," which you could a...
I think the Cracken in GOW2 has one of the most satisfying finishers ever. Actually, pretty much every boss in the GOW games has an extremely satisfying finish, especially if you're playing on a really hard mode and you have trouble with it. It makes it so viciously rewarding. After seeing Helios and the chimera finishers in the E3 demo, I'm pretty excited for what they've come up with.
@rememberthe357
I remember hearing something along those lines too, and I definitely heard recently that he's working on some kind of new IP. I feel like it's too early to announce though, I can't see him dropping anything on that until after peace walker comes out. But who knows?
I'm glad to see they seem to be fleshing things out more. There seem to be a lot more gameplay options, and upgrades are always fun. I really enjoyed the first one, despite its repetitive nature. Like Mass Effect 2, this feels like what the first game should have been. It helps to have the engines already up and running, too. I have a feeling that creating two in-house engines is what hindered the gameplay variety of the first game.
I probably will too. I really want it for PC, but since I'm one of the 99.999999% of gamers still on XP and DX9 (obviously exaggerating) it probably won't look as good as the console counterparts, even if I can max it out. Which I can't.
EDIT: actually I don't know what I'm saying, I'm gonna get it on PC. It'll control better, and whenever I end up upgrading my PC I'm gonna be glad I can max out Bioshock 2 with full dx10 (11 if the game supports it?) effects.
Conviction looks badass too, just to add to your PC/360-themed list. I'd drop a big ol' PS3 exclusive list here, but someone else is gonna do that within about 3 minutes so I'm gonna save myself the trouble.
But yeah, there's a lot of good games comin up :-)
I'm surprised... that DREAMCAST is #2 in that picture. Seriously? God damn. And it's going for $500?? I have two of these puppies, I should sell them and buy myself a mansion. Or a lot of weed.
Is there any kind of preorder bonus for COD6? Or are people just wasting $5 for no reason?
Yeah I definitely miss the "playstation 3" and the little jingle that played whenever you started a game
am i the only one who thought the font and pictures on the xmb were too small before this update? i had trouble reading and seeing things, even with my glasses on. and frankly, i'm astounded that people care SO MUCH about cross game chat. i did it with my friend once while i was playing fallout on PC and he was playing on 360, and i thought it was pointless, retarded, and distracting. i think the best part about it is the novelty of saying that you can do it if you feel like it. cross-ga...
Urinal cake?
