SONIC. I know they've tried to reboot it 20 times but they all turn out as interactive abortions. "2.5-D" side-scrolling psn/arcade title in HD, with level design the way it was in the Genesis games. That's all they need to do, they don't need to go bigger-budget than that and destroy our dreams again.
Also Syphon Filter. Unfortunately, my body may not survive the excitement-induced trauma I would suffer if they announced Syphon Filter PS3.
Edit: also,...
@korn
not all PC gamers are pirates, you know.
doesn't PC rake in more gaming-related revenue than any console? i remember hearing something along those lines last year, though i could easily be remembering wrong. you could probably easily argue that PC gaming is on the rise.. think about all those people who play flash games and spider solitaire at work or when they're bored.. they may not be big-budget "hardcore" titles but it's still PC gaming none the less.
You should be pissed that you have to pay more, not that others get to pay less.
Oh it's true, and it'll be pretty hilarious. Activision's really been ramping up the slime-itude in their business practices lately, and I'm definitely rooting for them NOT to meet their sales goals. How do they expect to beat out Halo and GTA when they're increasing the price wherever they find a place to?
They're gonna need some state-of-the-art DRM to pull this off.
Oh there's a reason, and it's them wanting to get rich. Which excuses nothing.
They ARE making a console. And still, no.
And Red Dead 2, Mafia 2, Heavy Rain, God of war 3, Biosh*head explodes*
But why all the flaunting of quad-core optimized tech if 360 was the main focus all along? It just seems weird that they would even have a PC build, somewhat playable 3 years ago at that, if their focus was always on the 360. I don't doubt that their focus was the 360, though, at least SINCE that tech demo, since MS has been the publisher for a long time. Regardless of what was meant to be the lead platform, we still know there's a PC version out there, even if it's still in the state it w...
You know, I also get reminded of Secret Window when I read about this game. Maybe it's just because they're both psychological thrillers about writers trying to write psychological thrillers, but I definitely think a lot of this is going on in Wake's mind.
And when it comes down to it, I also doubt that "it was all a dream" is all they're going to throw at us. I'll just be supremely pissed if it is haha.
I honestly don't think MS shelled out for this one. Konami is a third-party publisher, it's in their best interests to make their games multi-platform. They often said how much they were considering bringing MGS4 to "other platforms." If anything, I'd say Kojima probably struck a deal with Konami to NOT bring MGS4 to other platforms by saying he'd make the next MGS multiplat. And he probably chose PSP for Peace Walker so the only other platform it could ever feasibly come out on...
I definitely think they should have more 360 exclusives. My issue with the whole Alan Wake PC thing is that we all know from the tech demo that a PC version DOES exist, and that it's optimized for quad-core tech. I have no problem getting this for 360, but playing it on 360 while knowing that there's a graphically superior version out there that may not see the light of day is troubling, especially when I have a PC that's easily capable of outshining my 360 visually.
Again thou...
I dont get why they're making it so painfully obvious that this is all in Alan's head, and he's stuck in between life and death in some type of coma. If the big reveal of this game is that it's all a dream, I'll be seriously pissed, that's the biggest cop-out in the history of narrative and a twist that got old hundreds of years ago. The only thing I can think of is they're TRYING to make people think that "..and then I woke up" will be the big reveal but it's actually something m...
Im still hedging my bets on this being about Raiden's Area 51 escapades and retrieving BBs body for Big Mama.
Also I don't know what he's talking about with the images of Rising looking like MGS4, no one has seen any in-game images of Rising. The fact that Kojima Productions' very own podcast said this is a brand new engine PROBABLY means that it uses (gasp!) a brand new engine. That doesn't mean that parts of the MGS4 engine aren't used in the Rising engine, but still, we have...
Wow, definitely didn't know that, that's really interesting. So basically, they opted for really good lighting with no AA and a 640 resolution? That seems like a poor choice. I never thought the lighting was particularly good in Halo 3, maybe it is (I only played it once at a friend's), but it seems kind of pointless if they can't bring other visual aspects up to that level of polish. The things I remember noting to myself about the graphics were what I felt was a complete lack of anti-al...
Sweet jesus it's about time. I'm really happy that bungie and (if rumors are true) infinity ward are moving to different IPs.
Why? It's not like the 360 isn't capable of it.
So the only time you can use anything in the environment as a weapon is during interrogation? It'd be nice if you could still use any object as a weapon whenever you wanted, like they were touting when they first revealed conviction, but oh well. I guess that was too hard to do?
I was hoping for some more dynamic environmental destruction instead of just destructible objects, something akin to KZ2's environmental destruction. It doesn't really affect the gameplay so it's not an issue or anything, but it'd make you feel the impact of the explosions a lot more. Like that telephone pole in next to that one scene, that thing would've gotten blown to hell, but it's still just awkwardly sitting there after the explosion.
I fully realize that I'm splitting wa...
