I teared up at the end of MGS4, but I'd never expect anyone who isn't a shameless MGS fanboy like myself to feel the same level of emotion in that last cutscene. I think it was when they CQC'd a man-hug that it got to me, cuz it's like, these poor bastards don't know how to do anything but fight. And then the homage to MGS3's highly emotional ending... ah, I'm all buttery now.
If I remember right, he predicted that stuff to be at the very end of the year, and this update would come out before it. He seemed to think that this update would be 2.9 and the big one you're talking about would be 3.0. It still seems possible, only they called this update 3.0 instead of 2.9. I think they did it because it changes so much aesthetically, it kind of makes sense that a 1.0 update would have a lot more visual changes than a .1 update.
Anyway, I really hope he was right...

Seriously, I wish more sequels offered this much of a technical improvement over their originals.
Look at the way the rain pours through the level, on rocks and walls and running through the street at their feet, jesus christ. And the fire/explosion effects are 20x better than the first game. I look forward to these unique gameplay sequences, it seems like ND is gonna throw a lot more variety at us than U1.
All they need to do is show the helicopter demo from E3 and the game will sell itself. Not a single person I've shown that to hasn't craved the game afterward.
Every time I see a commercial for a multiplatform game, and I mean EVERY TIME, it ends with the damn 360 logo and nothing else. Nothing for PS3, nothing for PC, JUST the 360 logo. Sony needs to bite back with that, because I can't tell you how many people I've had to convince that COD4 is available for PS3 as well.
It'll be better than COD4, but there's no way in hell it'll exceed the hype the way COD4 did. The perfect reviews it's going to get will help ruin it by making it out to be the coming of gaming jesus. If the PS3 slim rumors ARE true, then they reduced production costs by taking out a lot of the non-gaming features, such as the ability to install another OS. It doesn't make sense that the fully-featured PS3 would drop in price, but the one with less features that costs less to make would cost more.
