*flips bird*
I still don't understand what Borderlands has to do with the apocalypse. Did humanity leave earth because of some kind of apocalypse or something?
Terrible comparison, but there don't seem to be any noticeable differences between PS3 and 360. Texture pop-in is thanks to Unreal 3.
What an amazing article. I really need to find a gaming-related job lol
I thought AA was the last Eidos game not to be published by SE? The box has Warner Bros, DC, rocksteady and eidos but no SE
I'm excited. I miss the old-school top-down GTAs, and I miss GTAs where there's more to do than story missions and getting yelled at by your fake friends for being late picking them up to go fake bowling or fake drinking. I think I'm most excited for the drug-dealing minigame.
PlayStation 2 146.0K
Still truckin!
I agree AK, as a 360 owner it makes me sad that they haven't taken full advantage of their console. And having a gaming PC, there's not much for me to go to on the 360 that I can't get cheaper and prettier on my PC (I'm not a Halo fan). Of course, as a PS3 owner, the awesome quality of games makes up for my disappointment with the 360.
But I remember a story a couple months ago about the "x-engine" or something, an engine designed specifically to make use of the 360's...
Exactly. If you make a plain cheeseburger that people buy for 2 million dollars, why bother adding ingredients?
I guess that's a pretty awkward analogy, but unfortunately gaming is a money-driven market like pretty much everything else, and not a quality-driven one. Obviously a great game doesn't need great graphics, we all know that, but Uncharted, for example, wouldn't be Uncharted without the quality of animation they have. It adds more characterization to Drake than the vo...
Well I'm definitely gonna buy it through Steam, unfortunately I lost my job so I can't do it for a while. Sorry, Gearbox!
"So if the 360 can do it than why are the developers not doing it? The reason is simple: Time."
I don't quite think that's it... Naughty Dog's development cycle for U2 was 18 months, Epic's for Gears 2 was about the same given both games came out almost exactly 2 years after the first entries. While it's still largely opinion whether the 2nd Gears looks better than the 1st (I personally think the 1st looks better in a lot of instances), the point is, the visual jump be...
I think it's about 38 thousand now
It's definitely true that they said Mass Effect 1 would never ever ever come to PC. I bought my 360 for that exact reason. I was pretty pissed six months later.
I prefer keyboard and mouse for FPS, hands down. But for 3PS, I definitely prefer a controller. A lot of 3rd person games are really awkward to control on PC. I tried playing Assassin's Creed on PC at a friend's house and it took me a LONG time to get the hang of it.
Although I guess you could argue the PC has the best of both worlds since you can hook controllers up to it. The 360 controller connects easily, and I'm sure there's ways to hook up a Dualshock with a little Goog...
I believe there's a way to stick a notebook HD inside the 360 HD casing. Obviously that makes way more sense than any of the storage options MS provides, but they don't take kindly to people not paying excessive prices for excessively overpriced storage.
The only reason the PSP go costs as much as it does is to attract people to the PS3. There's no way it costs more to manufacture than a PSP3000 (unless bluetooth costs more than a UMD drive), so the ones they do sell are an extra profit for them, but they aren't shafting consumers because the PSP3000 is still available at the normal price point. They put it out there, not expecting it to sell much, so people see it and think "a PS3 is only $50 more." And the ones they do sell bri...
Kotaku says they're only banning accounts and not consoles, which is really weird, because they always ban consoles with modded firmware. Maybe they figure they can ban a modded console permanently, which still lets the user play pirated games, or just ban the account and let them pay another $50 for a Gold account? Better to make some money off pirates than none I guess.
"Instead of tempting me to be creative with multiple approaches to a given situation, much of Resistance 2 felt like an experiment in trial and error to find that one correct approach. Worse, numerous areas featured one-hit kills that forced me to replay a section over and over until I had it memorized."
That's definitely my biggest gripe. They should DEFINITELY let you carry all the weapons you want this time. The first game let you pick the best tool for the job, bu...
"The game is equal on every platform"
Man, I really hope that doesn't mean the level of detail doesn't go above console quality on PC. I'm sure they won't cap the PC resolution at x600... maybe...
It sounds to me like their reasons for not having dedicated servers are that they want to start charging for IWnet at some point. Maybe not with COD6, but I can easily see it happening with a future project.
