The only way this will work is if they all got together and made it universal. People will just support the PC more if this comes to consoles. The Wii U apparently has its Gamepad locked to the hardware so that you cannot have an imported Gamepad. We already see region locked games so this could be the next step.
Going to a service enabled platform is going to hinder used sales as it is. Once people get locked into things like Steam it will all be digital content that is lock...
Logicwins, the Plus service is a lot like Netflix. They offer you content within your subscription and the content they offer that is included is much like the sell-through stuff Netflix offers you. Meaning games that have already gone through their cycle of demand. Most are older titles people no longer buy in large numbers. What they have offered for Vita games seem to be more desired as they are newer and some AAA games like Uncharted.
What people like about Plus over othe...
What I meant was during the first few years the PS3 still outsold the Xbox 360 during the same span of time. Not overall for the entire generation. The system got a lot of flack but still sold better year over year and has slowly closed the gap of total sales. All while being released one year later.
Ok, the most important question needs to be asked. What's the warranty going to be?
Where did I say I love the game? I haven't even played it yet. That's the whole point, one you keep polluting by prejudging the final product. That's what this topic is about yet you're so determined to make sure it fails before it even gets released.
What I've noticed on forums is you will always get a very vocal group. One that wants to make sure their opinion is heard above all others. So no, this isn't about you trying to clear the air and saying t...
That's funny Root, above you said people should be able to voice their opinions yet here you are basically smothering this person telling him/her they don't have a clue what they are talking about. You are not the authority figure so stop acting like it. You just called someone out for trying to silence people such as yourself yet here you are contradicting yourself.
This is what I mean, some people just can't say something and move on. Instead they attack others,...
Root, anyone is allowed to voice their opinion. At the same time people are allowed to disagree. What I am speaking about are those who say such dumb things as I hope DMC doesn't sell well and things of that nature.
What we are discussing now is people need to simply let it go but for some reason they want to drag their feet kicking and screaming all the way. It is what it is so why try and crap over the game now to the point of actually wanting others to agree and stay a...
donman1, not sure how you concluded we now live in a two console owning generation. You seemed to have ignored over 70 million Xbox 360 console owners out there. I guess game publishers didn't get your memo.
The Wii U is doing well but the real data will come later on when those who buy every new system fades. That's when we will know just how successful it is and how committed 3rd party publishers are. E3 is going to be very interesting.
Sony can't really have the thing be a slow cooker. Some people bash the PS3 during its first few years but it still outsold the Xbox 360. The PS3 also grew stronger as time went on. I don't think Vita will have that same luxury. It's a different market and one that they need to build momentum on rather quickly. I expect a big push this year but with the PS4 looming that could make things rather difficult.
Nintendo has done a great job at separating the Wii and no...
There are different categories but they usually pick the best game overall. Look at the Oscars, they have best picture and best director, along with many other categories.
The Walking Dead was a great game but I think a lot of that is it came out of nowhere. Most games that are based off of TV and comic books don't do all that well but everything did. The comics/books are great, the TV series is awesome and the game was highly acclaimed. I do wish we got more choices in t...
VickBoss,
"The next xbox was said to be out last year with 100% confidence. .........how will this be any different?"
By whom? Did Microsoft have a countdown timer last year like this?
"according to Microsoft they said last year that the 360 has more than two years left.
and also shane kim said the 360 will be around in 2015"
So. Sony said many years ago the PS3 had a 10 year cycle as well. That doesn'...
That's true, they simply need to move on. The thing is they don't have to buy it but it's almost like they don't want anyone to buy it.
The same sort of thing happened when the Fallout franchise was resurrected by Bethesda (not nearly as bad of a reaction as this mind you). Old Fallout players moaned. Meanwhile it went years without a new game and they were quite content with that. They didn't want Bethesda touching the IP and thought they would tarnish it...
That doesn't make any sense. People pirate good and bad games, good and bad movies, good and bad music. Piracy is just another issue they have to face along with marketing, word of mouth, financial backing and so on. There are many layers to why something is a success or not. Piracy does not legitimize any of those factors.
You could build your own computer or have one built for you that is easily under $1,000 and that includes an operating system and a monitor. Anything over $2,000 is simply just for those who have to have the best of the best. You can also get a PC up and running on par with current consoles for about $500 which sounds like a lot. Difference is the PC can do many more things than just play games, and do it more effectively.
What this list of games for 2013 shows is just how po...
From the article:
"Whether GTA 5 actually appears in March remains to be seen. Rockstar Games has not yet reached a decision on the release date."
So much for being confirmed.
I'll have to respectfully disagree. I think there is a great premise here, it just needs to be crafted better.
He's pretty funny for about 30 seconds but it starts wearing thin.
Nintendo is no doubt going to come out strong for E3. They know later this year it could be a real battle.
It's marketing, meganick. It would appear to be cheaper than the Wii U and probably the PS4 by hiding the long term cost. It would also help Microsoft keep people subscribing to Xbox Live and not have a higher upfront cost. Some cellphones cost over $600 to buy but if you sign a term deal often it's less than $200 and sometimes free (not really free but you know what I mean). After people buy the console they usually get one or two games and maybe another controller. That adds up and ...
Thanks you two.
Digital sales continue to rise, so that path is already there. What I would like to see is alternatives. Why are we still living in an era where you cannot rent games through services like Live?
This is just another case of publishers/companies not willing to work with the consumer. They see it as a buy it once model and throw it away. We should be able to trade our games online or be used as credit towards new games. That's what they tend to forget, people who buy used g...
