It is certainly not for everyone, but it is $200 very well spent for me.

Because the faster the player moves, then larger the environments need to be.
And with 1000 planets, barren or not, that is still 1000 environments to make. Making each planet drivable would be too much work for a $70 game.

After 5 hours, I personally feel Starfield could be the same for me: a personal classic with obvious blemishes that I personally don’t mind, but unlikely to be a universal classic in my book.
In contrast, I’ll acknowledge RDR2 as a universal classic, but I still won’t progress past chapter 2.
