I don’t think you understand the forces that drive these decisions. At the end of the day, they want to make money. Sony games stay exclusive because they sell well, and they only go to PC once Sony has determined that their console exclusivity isn’t driving PS4 sales anymore. At that point, you might as well expand the market for the game.
Psychonauts 2 could stay exclusive to Xbox forever if it sells well enough, and M$ determines that it drives Game Pass or Xbox conso...
I’m more interested in hearing things like “the PS4 version won’t have these effects”
What else does the ps5 get? We all excited expected 60 fps from a crossgen release.
Psychonauts has a AA budget, and AA draw. Starfield could stay timed if it doesn’t move enough XsXs.
I was hoping that God of War 2 would do be doing something that the PS4 simply could not handle.
I’m looking forward to seeing if it will end up looking held back. IMO, Horizon 2 looked a little held back. (Still very impressive, just not jaw-dropping throughout like Killzone 2 “gameplay”)
At the very least, I think it’s safe to assume that ND’s next SP game will show what boundaries the ps5 was designed to push.
Good luck. GTA is king for a reason, and Cyberpunk released as a buggy mess for a reason.
I was disappointed, and now Gold is $10/month. Awesome 🤙
🤙
Some of us prefer 30 fps. Go play PC.... go, shooo
This looks great.
I hope GG gets to close out the PS5 with a new IP, like GoT and LoU had
“Leaked”
Do any of you read Famitsu scores?
I’ve known them to be very critical. I love Returnal, but I pegged it as a Famitsu quad-8/an Xplay 4/5
Hopefully Starfield’s reveal goes better than Infinite’s. Albeit, I was impressed by the Warthog.
I’m surprised Returnal wasn’t mostly 8s
You have more quality options at the cost of originality.
It could be worse.
Well, now I gotta push him
Bungie, their golden goose, left because they didn’t want to make MORE Halo.
It was Bend’s first AAA game. It’s initial shortcomings are very understandable when you keep this in mind (it was a buggy open world game, with iffy/repetitive pacing at times). They clearly made up for every shortcoming with their post-launch support (maybe the best I’ve ever seen from a game. The extra modes are basically another game, and a superb example to other devs for how to “leverage existing assets” to offer the most fun from all of their hard work.)
I’m sure ...
Sony doesn’t impulse buy. It took them decades to make Insomniac an offer they’d consider, and this is only Housemarque’s first AAA. I love Returnal, but I’d be really surprised if it was enough for Sony to commit to buying them.
Demon Souls looked better, but that’s also when locked to 30 fps. The game looks great, but I was hoping for more of a graphics boost for next gen than 60 fps. That makes it more akin to a PS4 game that got BC support. I’m buying it day 1, obviously, but I’m also just hoping that sooner than later we will see what the ps5 can do that the PS4 can’t by simply reducing the fps or resolution.
Show us what the SSD allows the ps5 to do that the PS4 and XsX cannot. Isn’t that ...
