If it ain’t broke...
Ffs I bet you don’t know how much Mario 64 cost years after launch. And now you can count the hairs and pores on your character.
It’s gross how people act like games make themselves. You get what you pay for in life.
Good.
X-play had a review system:
5/5- a gem any gamer can manage to enjoy (GTA, Zelda, Halo)
4/5- a gem designed for a specific audience; great game that doesn’t cater to everyone (Rainbow Six, Metro, Alien Isolation)
3/5- game constrained by average highs and lows. (Battlefield V, Battlefront 2, Gears 4)
Some of my favorite games were my favorites BECAUSE of the things they were criticized for. A...
Wow I’m sure glad I stopped playing after my first save-breaking bug. Now I can play it like pc players enjoyed it 🤗
I just don’t think werewolves are scary. The mold things were only scary before I got a good look at them, and they are showing everything a ton as far as I can tell.
I’m sure the werewolves will be fun to shoot as they climb all over the place, and I’m sure their AI will keep this sense of inescapable pressure fun and fresh throughout the game.
But, I do not expect RE8 to compare to Alien Isolation in terms of sheer amount of chilled adrenaline it will ...
This^^
Most lifelong gamers understood PERFECTLY well how ambitious their vision was. I couldn’t imagine how they were going to pull it off. I figured this meant it would be THE most expensive game, by far.
I was blown away just by how much animation they were promising with the ripper docs. I also wasn’t surprised at all when I realized without warning that they didn’t continue to pursue this “ripper doc vision” at all after that demo they showed.

It’s nice when a console has enough games launching within its first year that so that an owner doesn’t feel compelled to buy EVERY game available Day1. I’m looking forward to playing this, of course, but I’m expecting to be held over by RE8 and Returnal for the summer.
Albeit, the reviews might compel me to grab it earlier :))
I get the feeling like they want this to disappear, and for people to just wonder what’s new to game pass this month, instead
Size?
Starting with the ps3/x360 gen, games were supposed to cost $70-90. The only reason we avoided that was via DLC. They just couldn’t cut production costs anymore this gen without compromising a AAA vision. So, they are finally committing to an overdue price increase.
If you don’t think $10 more is fair, then maybe try programming a game for a day and see if you still feel the same way.
You can count the pours and hairs on our character models now, ffs. ...
What’s poor about his messaging? He makes promises, and then keeps them.
I like that, personally. Some consoles just make empty promises for an entire gen.
They want CoD to blink first. That’ll allow them to adjust marketing materials to maximize product differentiation
I believe you.
Siiick 🤙
Please change title to something like:
“Returnal is yet another original new IP to join the Sony family, and it really shows off the PS5”
It’s so tough to break onto the AAA stage. I’m looking forward to Bend’s sophomore AAA effort. Seeing their post-launch support, I’ll definitely buy their next game full price Day 1.
But yeah, who could blame anyone for not having $60 for a game that launched with a noticeable amount of bugs? Especially when it was the dev’s first AAA effort.
Sony is building a nice unspoken promise to add exclusives to their collection leading up to the release of their sequels.
Niice 🤙
“Spider-man” brand recognition + being a pseudo-sequel to the best selling Sony PS4 exclusive + being cheaper than most new games since it’s not the same scale as the OG Spider-Man game + being the most hyped launch title for a console that has been perpetually sold out + the Miles Morales movie that did very well recently (and their in-game skin is the best part of the game, imo) = it was destined to be THE game that everybody bought.
In contrast, Last of Us 2 is a misera...
Lol, what bubble. No PS4 owner is under the delusion that the PS4 is magic. They just know that they will always release great games to EVERY console they sell. Brand-loyalty was earned by Sony. I certainly know what console gaming is like outside of the bubble on Xbox: M$ is pushing game pass instead of AAA games of their own.
The boss at the end of the first game was THE best boss I could’ve hoped for, I’ll remember it forever.
In contrast, the boss as the end of the second game was THE worst boss I’ve ever played, ever. And they had great boss fights throughout the game, so this was a HUGE disappointment.
Dead Space > RE, in the right hands
