They need to drop support for Xbone. I know that I was promised Halo Infinite for my OneX, but I won’t bother playing a crappy version. I’ll wait years for them to iron it out properly for the series X. If it’s really Halo, then the community will last. If not, then I didn’t miss anything.
Calling it now: Halo Infinite is a launch title for XsXS’ mid gen upgrade machine. I’m okay with that. It’s better than another Halo 4 or 5 within a year of now.
I would compare Returnal to tackling dungeons in MMOs.... nobody complained that WoW took too much time, because it was expected of the genre.
Returnal isn’t an indie roguelite, it’s a AAA roguelite. I enjoy them differently, and I think the devs intended that. And, since this is a new genre they started, I think it’s up to them to figure out what works.
Honestly, I’d love this game less if my longest life was 45 minutes. I like having 3+ hours on th...
Then get used to paying $70 a game. That’s what it costs.
Idk how I feel about fans choosing the direction of studios. We don’t know the quality of their pitches, we just hope they are as good as our expectations
...why?
Ubisoft devs have publicly stated that they do not feel confident in their ability to continue the franchise, because Chaos Theory set expectations so high. They have made internal efforts for reboots and sequels, and they consistently feel like they are falling short of fan expectations.
I hope they figure out how to make Splinter Cell relevant again. But, that probably starts with figuring out how to modernize the very unique/clunky control scheme from Chaos Theory (not...
I think PS5 will have an easier time with justifying a price hike, because at least they have to pay for unique support for their controller and its deep potential for sensory feedback (worth the $10 IMO)
It deserves more than 3 mission structures, and a lame ending
This is a game pass machine for kids... how many children understand framerates?
Huh, I didn’t think of this, but I’m the same sorta creature of habit, always fearful of change.
Now that you mention it, I can definitely recall when I first started this game, I was afraid to change from a dependable gun EVER. But, I did soon realize that I was better off upgrading every weapon as much as possible. And I think the special qualities of each gun made it possible to always fall back in love with something new. Not to mention, every gun is “dependable” if ...
Because GTA Online set the record years ago for being the most profitable piece of MEDIA (amongst books, movies, and video games, etc) in history. This was largely due to them removing cheat codes in order to make money something to collect (or pay for via shark cards) for the first time in the franchise’s history.
We have Returnal now, let Bluepoint remaster something at least 2 gens old instead.
It depends how many Housemarque games you’ve played. After 32 deaths/20 ish hours, I JUST developed the habit to dash forward through oncoming projectiles. I bet vets of this sorta game started Returnal with that habit.
That’s how they stomp the game early on without practice: they’ve practiced in other games already
It’s NOT must have.
It took me a dozen+ tries to beat the first boss, but I sweeped the second boss first attempt. I’m loving this game, but I can honestly say that PLENTY of people would HATE it.
I want a sequel.
Well, it couldn’t get smaller
1) You wouldn’t take a break from Returnal, because you’d lose your groove after switching games. You’ll ride your life out until failure or success is achieved.
2) Quick resume DOES close games without warning. It is a great feature on paper, but it isn’t as reliable as it needs to be, or at least not yet.
I literally cannot tell the difference between 120 and 60 fps.
But, I can clearly tell that my game pass sub doesn’t make me a happy gamer like I was back in the X360 days.
Boost games all you want, that’s not the same as pushing the limits with gaming. It’s a performance benchmark, not a gaming innovation (ie Gears of War’s cover system).
If you like game pass more than innovative 1st AAA games, then yas: you are gonna be happy with ...
Returnal 🙌
What “grinding”? I don’t think I had to grind for anything at all... what would be the point? You lose basically everything upon death.
I guess you could grind to stack ether, and that could make a run easier, but that is certainly not encouraged by gameplay pressures.
If you want to know what “grind” is, then go look at Destiny: you will need to play at least 40 hours in order to get the gear you need to enter a Raid. That game is like a second job tr...
