is going to drive 360 sales over there and maybe convince the Japanese that they don't have a monopoly on good games anymore. If the 360 is going to catch on, though, they need to follow this one up with something equally good or better. That was one of the strengths of the Japanese RPG scene. You would buy an awesome new release and by the time you were done with that one, there was always another one, equally good, on the shelves for you to buy.

The reason they keep updating the PSP firmware is to prevent people from running old games on emulators and to stop freeware development and now they are going to allow it on PS3?? That makes no sense at all. Console makers make money on games, not hardware. Sony is selling PS3 at a huge loss and now they are going to allow people to run free games on it?? They are going to go broke with this strategy. And what about their online strategy?? Why would a developer want to sell their older games...

When someone goes into a Gamestop or Best Buy or Circuit City or whatever looking for a PS3 or a Wii and they don't have any to sell, the associates are told to push XBox 360 hard in order that they can get some kind of sale instead of letting the customer leave empty handed. It is going on all over and a lot of people are going for it with rebates and free games being the biggest incentives to draw people's attention away from PS3 and Wii. Now, that said, those that are using dishonest sales...

would be after all that Sony went through to have the highest tech toy on the market ever, if the Wii outsells it by a wide margin using last gen technology. The fanboys will probably commit hari-kiri with their Blu Ray discs.

because most of those systems went to the pirates on ebay and not to gamers. Gamers actually ended up paying much more than $500-$600 for them. When you pay $3500 for a system it doesn't leave much left over for games and movies. As long as the ebayers manage to keep new systems out of gamers hands at reasonable prices, Sony's strategy of pushing B-R will fail because nobody will have any money to buy movies after they pay for their console. I got a 360 late to avoid all that BS and if I wan...

of whether he was waiting for a PS3. He just was like, "No" and seemed like he was thinking "Get a f*ing life dude, nobody wants to buy a POS PS3". I actually get like that when salesman start hovering around me in the stores. they'll be like "Can I help you with something today?" and I'll be like "No" and then walk away without ever looking at them. It throws them off because they are told to literally pursue the customer until they make the sale, but ...

of 44 violent video game playing inmates and all of them responded by saying that their violent tendencies were caused by playing video games.
I don't know about the rest of you, but that proves it for me. NOT!!!

This has about as much credibility as the scenario I just mentioned. They've been saying this about video games since the first ones started popping up in arcades back in the 70's and nobody has come up with conclusive proof yet, or video games would have been b...

didn't have an alternate agenda of forcing Blu-Ray, Cell and XDR Ram down everyone's throats, PS3 could still have been a killer system at a much lower price point. As it stands now, the price is too high and the technologies are unproven. There are going to be a lot more problems in the future. Just watch.

not just N. America. At this time, Sony has sold around 323,000 PS3's WORLDWIDE. The number of units that got to N. America on launch day was considerably less than that. How can you not sell out to the millions of rabid fanboys when you underdeliver like that??

Sony cut their expected shipment of 400,000 way back. Many estimate as few as 150,000 actually got out in time for launch day. By comparison, nearly a half million Wii's were in stores on launch day. Both sold out, but who has a bigger right to be proud of that claim?? Of course PS3 sold out, because of the paltry amount they were able to ship, not because everyone who wanted one got one. Cutting the amount they shipped on launch day with no promise of when more would be available probably he...

Microsoft doesn't have to reflect at all on Blu-Ray. They can just cut out Windows support for it then Dell and H-P will have no say in the matter.

That has to be the best comment I have seen so far concerning all these idiots who pay huge bucks on ebay. Just go to Gamestop and make a downpayment in advance of release. You still may not get one on the first day, but you will be guaranteed to get one as soon as your name comes up on the waiting list and you can take the money you saved and get some games or maybe a better TV to play on.

doesn't bother me. I already had a AA recharger and a bunch of ni-cads for my digital camera. I just use them. Besides, you can still buy normal batteries if you need them. It's not like some other sh1tty piece of equipment I could mention *cough* iPod *cough*, where you have to send the thing back to Apple for service to replace the batteries when they die and can't be recharged anymore. Apple also charges you extra for a AC adapter or else you have to leave your computer on to recharge it v...

though I'm not sure how nextgenwars does their updating. They may not count shipments from the factory, but only shipments to retailers, as that is a more accurate reflection of how they are actually selling.
