Sony missing out on Christmas in Europe will pull MS up to 10 million easily.

Where else can you screw up a launch so bad and get promoted for it??

Gamespot gave Resistance an 8.6.

(they also gave Gears a 9.6) :-P

that tax alone adds a lot of money to the prices of everything you buy there. I have been on shopping trips in England and it's amazing how little you get for your money. Every time I asked a shopkeeper about the differences in prices between the UK and USA, the answer was always V.A.T.

a federal struck down a state law barring sale of sexually explicit games to minors, so that means the whole game rating system will probably be struck down as unconstitutional next.

Has anyone seen FarCry for the Wii??? It's pathetic.

I mean in a month and a half they are expecting to sell 4 million?? They still need to sell another 3.4 million in one month. They have their European launch coming on the 8th of Dec., but I still think that is a lot to expect, even over the Christmas season.

Good thing I got my hands on a copy of DC-X before they all disappeared.

Madden isn't a game that sells systems, because it is cross platform, but everyone recognizes the name and anyone that enjoys football games and doesn't have a 360 yet will be very tempted. I know when PS2 came out, Madden 2001 was one of the games I got first, and I'm not even a huge football fan.

is going to be what pushes 360 over the 10 million mark. With no PS3 on store shelves, how can they go wrong?? Nintendo will sell well come Dec. 8, but it really is aimed at a completely different demographic. A lot of gamers there are going to see what's happening in Japan and N. America and see that PS3 really isn't worth the wait and price when they can get a 360 right now.

now and for the year to come. That was why I got mine. I, initially, was one of the ones that laughed my a$$ off when 360 had the red ring errors right out of the gate and couldn't wait for PS3 to come and kick 360's a$$, but after seeing all the problems Sony is having, all the unproven tech in the PS3 and the price, I just couldn't see myself waiting for it. I was going to wait for a price drop to get a 360 but then when I found a great deal on a 360 ahead of a price drop, I figured I had w...

keeping it around another year or more is going to cause developers to lose focus when they should be concentrating on the DS. Nintendo may think Gameboy has one more Christmas left, but I doubt many developers do.

they have their numbers wrong. If they sell the PS3 in Europe for 570 Euros ($757) what they aren't taking into considering is that many countries in Europe have something called V.A.T. (value added tax) which is figured into the sale price of everything you buy, so just because retailers are collecting 570 Euros on each one sold, Sony isn't getting 570 Euros. The retailer takes their cut and the government takes theirs as well. Sony probably will get less money from each European unit sold t...

don't let magazine reviewers make our game buying decisions for us. We can see the screenshots and the videos for ourselves and decide which one we think looks better. You can look at a screenshot and say it is too dark or the colors are not right or the models don't look detailed enough and I can then look at the same screenshot and disagree completely with you. Use your own brain. Decide for yourself which system looks better instead of depending on a reviewer to tell you the difference. Th...

the business model does not allow console makers to keep money losing games and studios around. They lose on the consoles and gain on the game sales. If the game studios aren't making money, they can't afford to keep them around or they go out of business.

PS3 is a loser. They are selling at a $300 loss per console and games sales aren't keeping pace, neither are B-R movie sales being affected much by it. That can turn around, but it's still way too early to say that it is a winner.

PSP is selling because they are bundling it with a game a movie and a 1 gig memory stick now.

And maybe PS2 is selling again because of the all the people who wanted a PS3 for backwards compatibility who now don't want one and just need a new PS2 to replace their old one with the burnt out laser problem. (12 generations of crap lasers until they get one that lasts?? Come on.)
