independent sellers who list on Amazon in these or just the discs that are sold directly by Amazon??

It's the Blu Ray people who keep bringing up year old quotes saying that the porn industry will be using Blu Ray. Obviously, in the year since that quote was made, the industry shifted to HD-DVD. It's faster and cheaper for them to produce large quantities of films on HD-DVD, so more profit for them. Now that they know the truth, they are trying to make out like it's only a few small companies using HD-DVD, but there are a lot more small and medium sized companies in the porn industry than th...

Sony isn't even licensing Blu Ray to the porn industry!!! What will all those poor Sony fanboys do to get their pr0n??

PS3 Fan,

January 11, 2007 looks like this year to me. In fact, it looks like TODAY!!!

and it was running fine before, it has to be related to the patch in some way. Don't let Microsoft tell you any differently. However, I would have done it a little differently. I would have downloaded the console patch first, logged out and made sure everything was running fine before applying any game patches. That way you can tell if it was the console update or the game patch that screwed things up.

everyone will be doing their fapping with an HD-DVD player in the room.

all the launch units that are being returned by scalpers and how those are going to affect future PS3 deliveries. Retailers will want to clear those out before they order anymore from Sony, so there is going to be a delay in new deliveries until that excess is sold. The PS3 situation is actually marginally worse than he wrote.

but if they are popular franchises and not junk, then MS would do well to have their 1st party studios look into making a purchase in order to gain some traction in the Japanese market.

PS3 was supposed to output everything in 1080p native over HDMI?? You mean it DOESN'T do what Sony have been claiming all along?? Shock, horror, surprise....NOT!!

I think it would be great for capture the flag, zoom in grab flag, zoom off before anyone can do anything, and it is fast enough where there aren't many weapons in the game that can touch it, but the ones that can hit it absolutely destroy it with one shot. It has no other protection apart from speed and it doesn't look to have any weapons on board like other vehicles in the game.

"People cheer or sneer, lines form, eBay makes a nice profit and the console sells like mad."

The only problem is, PS3 isn't selling like mad. In fact, sales are negative because everyone is returning them.

racing games haven't sold XBox's in the past, is because there hasn't been a racing game that really compares with Gran Turismo. Forza Motorsport was good, but GT3 and 4 were better and PGR is a different type of racing game that focuses on racing for style points (kudos), and accomplishing certain driving feats, like cone runs and such. You also can't count Ridge Racer as a console seller because it is sold on every console that comes out. Forza 2, on the other hand, looks like it might fina...

The US government passed a law requiring all analog television broadcasts to stop by mid February 2009 so they can reallocate the bandwith space for other applications. SDTV IS going to disappear regardless of how many older TV's are still out there. Everyone is going to be required to own either an HDTV or a set top box that receives HDTV signals and downgrades them to a signal that an SDTV can handle. Toshiba already has a line of televisions on the market that contain an HDTV tuner and SDT...

In some ways, the widescreen was better. You could see more of the surrounding area without turning around so you got snuck up on less. Actually, you CAN run your 1280x1024 4:3 monitor in 16:9 mode. Just change the aspect from normal to widescreen. You'll get full screen and the characters won't look stumpy, but you'll lose some of that extra field vision on both sides, the same way you lose them in a movie that has been pan and scanned for a 4:3 television. I don't watch movies that have bee...

The Pirate Station 3 and Pirate Station Portable will be able to share Blu Ray movies!! Of course, once they leave the Blu Ray disc and make the move to Memory Stick, they aren't secure anymore. Yay, Sony!!

Apple asked permission to use the name, Cisco said 'no', Apple went ahead and used it anyway. Why would they ask permission to use the name if they did not acknowledge that it was trademarked?? They showed a blatant disregard for a trademark that they had prior knowledge of.

Everyone is going to be required to own an HDTV in two years because SDTV broadcasts are going to cease.

UPDATE: Scratch that. Well, so much for the video interview, but SCEA has just retracted whatever previous statement their CES rep has given out and stated that NO, Motorstorm will NOT be running at 60fps at 1080p, but will actually be running at the unglamorous rate of 30fps and at a resolution of 720p.

The core unit deal on Amazon was only for 100 units, sold out in under 15 seconds and crashed the website. That's why when they got in limited supplies of PS3 and Wii a few weeks ago, they held a lottery and flagged the winning accounts as the only ones able to buy the consoles. It prevented people from swamping the system in a race to be the first to submit an order.
