this will never sell. It will be too costly and you would never really see any difference at that resolution over a good 1080p set. Just seeing the difference between 720p and 1080p is difficult. 2160p is completely unnecessary.
makes the most sense. Studios can release their movies in both formats for less money than it would cost to release them on separate Blu Ray and HD-DVD discs and they can sell them to a larger market of both Blu Ray and HD-DVD owners, so they make more profit. Of course adoption of the multi format disc means Blu Ray loses, because everyone would buy the cheaper HD-DVD players. If the public also does a shift and decides to pay more for multi-format players, then HD-DVD gets a boost because H...
Read the article again. They didn't drop winning 11. It is on the list of games that they are still releasing. Dropping a soccer game just a few months before the European PS3 launch, where soccer games are best sellers, would be pretty dumb.
One of the biggest hurdles to overcome when proving patent infringement is to show that your patent is non-obvious, meaning that your patented device(s) are constructed in such a unique way that precludes anyone coming up with the same or similar ideas on their own without being aware of your patent. Since the console makers have been using similar designs for a long time, it pretty much makes non-obviousness impossible to prove.
and Gears takes up 9 or less and still kicks it's ass. Interesting.
Scrumptious,
You can open up a Sixaxis easily, and it isn't hard to find a similar replacement battery out there. It's not quite as bad as a frickin iPod where the whole unit is sealed and you have to mail it in to Apple to get the batteries replaced. Also, the 360 hard drive is swappable, there just isn't anything better to swap it to at the moment, but if your current drive ever does fill up, ...
They do celebrate Christmas big time in Japan, even though they are not Christian. It is a purely commercial holiday designed to boost retail sales just like it has become everywhere else.
there is not a single fact in this article supporting Sony making the expected March release date. It is pure speculation. Come up with something more concrete next time before you attempt to call it news.
Colin McRae will take care of Motorstorm. No worries, XBox'ers.
so they could say it holds more than a 50Gig B-R disc. I am sure if they really tried they could stretch the capacity further, it's just a question of how much it costs to develop the technology to make it feasible.
mean nothing if nobody owns a machine that plays their discs. They will have to support HD-DVD, or the Warner hybrid disc. Either way, HD-DVD wins, because in the event that the Warner hybrid disc catches on, everyone will buy the cheaper HD-DVD players over the pricier Blu Ray ones.
Official Playstation Magazine. The issue on newstands now is the last one ever. I am surprised they didn't try to sell it instead of folding it, though. I am sure someone would have picked it up.
If Nintendo comes through with a rumored $50 cut in the spring, MS may make a $50 cut to the core system to maintain share in the price oriented segment of the market, but as long as the 20GB PS3 remains higher than 360 premium, MS is going to keep the prices as high as they can to get the most profit out of them. If Sony drops the price of the 20GB model to match the 360 premium, then MS will likely do a cut to stay below Sony.
the reason 360's were so hard to get initially was because MS did the impossible and launched in Asia, N. America and Europe on more or less the same day. It was a Herculean task to coordinate things on three continents at the same time and have inventory available globally. Nintendo is finding that out now with Wii shortages all over the world after doing all of their major launches within a week of one another. Wii is going to be the hot item for several months just like the 360 was for the...
a graphics card upgrade for machines that can't normally be upgraded. One of these will extend the life of my notebook immensely as the graphic system (Radeon Mobility 9600) is the weakest link in an otherwise damn good machine.
is being flooded with PS3 returns, that's why they have so many in stock. THeir return period ends January 15, so if you are stuck with any that you want to return, do it now, or they will be yours forever.
was if Sony included rumble in it's games in anticipation of one day having a rumble controller on the market again, and the 360 controller was able to utilize it. All PS3 owners would immediately throw their sixaxis controllers in the garbage and upgrade them to 360 controllers.
should release all the DC games that we never got here. There are a lot of people who still appreciate the Dreamcast and would buy games for them.
that Sony never counted on. If MS can convince people to replace their cable tv/satellite boxes with a 360, PS3 will be done. All they need to do is come up with a better programming package for less money and they will be in a lot more homes than they are now because a lot of people are getting seriously fed up with rising cable/satellite charges.
there is no way they could possibly have sold 1 million in N. America. Japan is their strongest market.
Stores deliberately stocked up on 360 because they knew PS3 and Wii would be impossible to get for months after launch, so they are selling 360's instead. Now with all the PS3's being returned by scalpers, they are stuck with them, but the 360's continue to sell. Expect the retail trade to continue to push 360 over PS3.
And as for the deals that some retailers are applying to the 360, those aren't official Microsoft promotions. Each retailer sells the system in their own way. If t...
