here's the post by Crazyman in another thread

.
Just because some developers doesn`t use proper BD in MULTIPLATFORM games, that doesn`t make BD slow.
For what PS3 exclusive games Blu-ray disc is SLOW???

===================

blu-ray disc are slow? That is a BULLSHIT.

2x Blu-ray Drive (72Mbps(9MB/s))
Single Layer (2x CLV) - Constant Linear Velocity (Same speed across entire disk)
Double Layer - Couldn't find...

20GB is only enough for the casual gamer who doesn't download stuff. and MS is trying to push DLC so they obviously need to get 360's with bigger HDD's

maybe you should google the facts about read times on all the optical devices before spouting and making yourself look stupid

it's good that MS is planning on putting in a larger HDD. 60GB should be the lowest on every console and they should not require proprietary hardware. who knows, maybe by the time i pick up a 360 it'll come with 160GB

you deny that having a game system and ALSO a next-gen movie format won't appeal to most consumers on the fence right now? The console game has evolved to being MORE than just a game machine. Why else would MS have a movie download service? And why would they bother with an add-on?
This gen is not just about a platform ONLY playing games. Consoles are evolving.

i think the DMC4 accomplishments are exactly the same as with the 360 version but the PS3 version doesn't have a point system that scores your progress. I think that's where the trophies come in instead of points

6675d ago 6 agree0 disagreeView comment

i think it depends on the developer, but i know it will unlock stuff. most likely there will be certain trophies for certain accomplishments

6675d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

like i said.. the achievement argument won't be valid very, very soon.

wrong. blu-ray uses JAVA not HDi.

and since blu-ray is the next gen format you can bet manufacturing dvd20's will slow down and cost more now.

yeah, the BDA will be getting royalties for every blu-ray disc, player, films or whatever is associated with blu-ray. we're talking billions of dollars if it becomes mainstream.

and Sony was the leading company behind the R&D and so i think Sony gets the highest percentage

no Blu-ray will be using Java for profile 2.0 and most likely the lifetime of Blu-ray

i actaully have a respect for Bill Gates and hope he continues to throw money around to all the charities.

on a related note. MS will obviously add Blu-ray. Maybe not for the 360 but for PC's.

i agree with fenderputty. the two are way hotter, but it might be my brunette bias

no worries, just giving you the heads up if you didn't know. i think it will go further with this trophy thing once Home is released. should be cool if you're into achievements.

6675d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

yeah, i saw a video of Home where you can play chess at a table.

on a related note, i downloaded it but haven't played it yet. but damn, it sounds like it's really horrible.

you DO see text pop up and also it tells you which and what your friends have unlocked. (DMC4)

6675d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

achievements are a great idea (though i don't care for them) but it's not going to win a console war alone. and the writer neglects to say that PS3 has already started implementing this feature (DMC4) and it will become standard with future games as well.

i learned that it doesn't even help reducing your product to bargain basement prices to try and win.

6676d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

it's weird.

the 360 keeps ADDING parts
but the PS3 only took out 1 thing (not including 2 USB ports)

6676d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

lmao... the PS3 can go up to 500GB from day one with ANY HDD manufacturer you idiot. have fun paying what $200 for 120GB
