they can try but it won't be easy. Blu-ray already dominates other countries outside of NA. It's been in the media for the past 2 years because of the war and the news of it winning was global and so anyone stepping into the ring would need a miracle.
i think the wii fanbase will flock to the ps3 when they realize they want more hardcore gaming but at the same time have a library of casual games. xbox needs to concentrate less on the hardcore. but that's just my opinion on how i see the future to be.

no, you're right you need to be an adult to register for PSN.
But you can register anyone under 18 as long as you're over 18 yourself and so there will be a lot of younger people on PSN as well.
Xbox Live is in just as much blame as the Internet as a whole. No matter what you do to prevent things like this to happen, it will happen. There's no way around it unless you drop off the radar and live in a hut in the mountains.

yeah, unfortunately i share your same opinion and i don't think it will make it beyond Japan this year. I really wish it did but i have to look at it realistically, and that tells me it's a 2009 game. I hope SE will prove me wrong :P

XDR is not mainstream and so it will cost more and the Cell is already mulit-core. unless they put cores inside each core.

no, actually ALL ps3 games are 720p - 1080p. even the PSN downloadable games.
i don't think there's a single 1080p game on the 360. there are hardly any games above 640p.
i downloaded the demo. it's not my cup of tea. and it was weird when i made a cat catch a mouse and all of a sudden i was painting on a scroll thing and.. man, it was all in japanese but i was really confused.
so ONE game that Capcom made was 25 minutes (which it wasn't i'd say 20) and you say ALL ps3 games are 5GB and 25 minutes. and the other 5GB game was ALSO MADE BY CAPCOM. (you see a trend here?) it's the developers not the console that you should b*tch about.

the need not to compress is better for the processor as it has one less job to do and that could then be used for another process that could enhance the game. as with install on a mandatory hdd for caching and what not.
