The firings from this fiasco were inevitable. I can only imagine how much Microsoft spent in research and development of this "always online" system only to flush all that work and money down the toilet. Somebody is going to take the fall, probably a lot of somebodies. Not to mention all the money they paid to developers like Respawn, who developed a game based on the assumption the console will be always connected. Respawn has to be pretty upset, even though they took the Micro...

The "author" of this article is going to feel very foolish when some more of Sony's first party developers show what they have been working on for the PS4 at Gamescon. Game over. PS4.

I'm afraid to ask what games you enjoy...these two look stellar.

You're absolutely right. If people didn't hear one word from him (like the Last Guardian devs)everybody would be up in arms screaming for info.

Well GameCents that doesn't really make sense as Watch_Dogs as well as other Ubisoft games are getting additional content that will be exclusive to Sony platforms.

colonel179..what is the "better game" is always subjective and a matter of opinion. The one thing that is certain is that MGSV and The Division are day one buys for me.

I played Black Ops 2 for a month, traded it in and got more than 40 bucks for it, which I put toward another game. If Microsoft had their way, that would be impossible next gen. No thanks. And don't suggest they I would have had the opportunity to trade it back "at a selected retailer". I'm positive Microsoft would see to it you get back no more than ten bucks at most for a used game. That's how they operate, take a lot from the consumer, give very little back. PS4...

UNGR, yet another tool who seems to think when a corporation takes away his rights as a consumer that is "the future" and "that's progress". Microsoft had some interesting ideas, such as the ability to play your games at any console without needing a disc, but if those freedoms come at the cost of losing a whole lot of others, that is not progress.

I never really liked the Halo series. I know I'm in the minority on that one, but the guns didn't have any feel of heft or power behind them and the graphics were always a disappointment to me. Destiny looks phenomenal. I will be buying this for my PS4, no question. I just hope it plays as good as it looks.

Millions of people will buy the PS4....at launch. Something is worth what the consumer is willing to pay for it. The PS4 is priced appropriately and offers a good value. I find it hard to believe that the author could have played Destiny, The Division, Watch_Dogs, or Infamous Second Son and have a legitimate question as to whether those could be running on current hardware. That is not reasonable. So when the "author" brings up that point, he loses all credibility. It was obvi...

I look at the strength of Sony's first party developers and say to myself...the author of this article is no fan of gaming. That is for dead sure. Now let me get back to The Last of Us.

You say infinity ward didn't want to milk a franchise and wanted to do other inventive titles. That doesn't square with making a game that basically looks like an online Cod with mechs. Respawn hasn't strayed particularly far from what they do best, much as Bungie hasn't left Halo so far behind with Destiny. (Destiny does look good though, and I'm far more interested in it than in Titanfall).

Let's be honest....this guy should rebrand himself as a corporate mouthpiece who does and says exactly as he is told. And he's completely full of s@#%. Is everyone who works for Microsoft's gaming division a complete and utter d-bag?

How does Infamous Second Son not make the list and possibly win the Sony exclusives category over Killzone? It's as if they forgot about that game altogether as it's not even nominated, which is very strange.

Why punish a car for the insanity of it's owner. Better to take it from him and offer it a better owner.

Of course you're not afraid, blachek. Those who don't understand the issues rarely are. An intelligent man once said "My definition of an expert in any field is someone who knows enough about what's really going on to be scared". That is truth.

You gotta love some of these game developers. Cliffy B and his ilk want a 2nd bite at the apple. When you buy any other electronic device or media, does the retailer make money when you sell said device/item to another party? So why should game developers make money with every single transaction of their product? It's counterintuitive. A used game means that game has already been sold as new at some point. After that, the game belongs to the consumer to do as he/she sees fit, and no...

That sound of rolling thunder you hear is the laughter of Sony executives in board rooms around the globe, wondering how Microsoft could screw the pooch so colossally. Microsoft is a ship at sea with no engine, no rudder, and no sail. They are adrift and just hoping and wishing for someone to rescue them from this horror show.
