I'm excited for this next generation in a way I haven't been since seeing the first gameplay of gears of war, mass effect, bioshock, and modern warfare....those games made me buy a 360 before I bought a ps3 that gen. This time around, it's the tech that has me interested, and the games we will get because of it, on both consoles and on pc.

I'm eager for the Blade sequel. The daywalker returns. Maybe movie theaters won't be so jacked up by then, or maybe they'll stream the release like they did Mulan...I would pay for Blade.

I disagree with your statement on the series s delivering 60fps at up to 1440p easily. I don't think there will be anything "easy" about it. It may do it for current gen games, but once developers take it up another level the series s will be a machine that upscales 1080p. By the same token, the series x and ps5 will do 4k 60 on current games, but will have to upscale to 4k, especially when we also consider ray tracing.

We can't start making excuses like that. This is a multibillion dollar corporation. This level of poor communication wouldn't be acceptable in a local small office conference room in a presentation given to 5 to 10 people, and it certainly shouldn't be acceptable from a global conglomerate broadcasting a video across the internet. All I really want to know is if they have now scrapped their plans for the current gen for Elden Ring and are focusing on next gen only. I very highly doubt they have/will, considering the money to be made, but an update would be appreciated.

You're more magnanimous than most, and more than I....I secured a ps5 from best buy store pickup, and series x delivery from amazon. Tbh, I'm not all that confident in getting either release day....something could always come up in shipping, or the consoles could "disappear" out the back of a truck. But whatever happens I'm thankful I was successful in what was complete preorder chaos. I know many were not lucky with that.
As someone who plans to buy both a ps5 and a series x, the only question I have for games going forward is how the xbox series x split memory pool may affect games, particularly games from 3rd party devs. I don't know if it will be a factor or not at this point. Microsoft seem confident in it. I just wonder if at some point this gen it could become an issue. Hopefully not.
Some people will pay, but I doubt they'll be "happy" about it.

I doubt that that's the reason, because according to many retailers, they are getting far more units of the 499 disc version than of the 399 discless ps5.
The whole "invite" situation didn't feel right from the start. If it's random, tell people it's a random lottery. If it's based on something, let people know. Instead gamers are left dangling in the breeze, confused about why some are getting emails and others aren't, with no apparent rhyme or reason for the selections.
