I have never, nor would I ever, go to these lengths to buy any product, but I understand the demand. It's unfortunate that many people who really want the consoles/graphics cards won't be able to get them for many months to come.

I am one of the gamers who believes that when a new generation starts, games should be developed for the new platforms, leaving the previous gen behind. I realize that this is not economically possible...devs and publishers would be leaving a whole lot of money on the table with the enormous install bases of the previous gen.....but selfishly I just want to see game design pushed forward more quickly, and having to develop a game with weak for 2013 jaguar processors and substandard gpu's...

Why would I buy a one s when I have my consoles running on a lg cx oled through a denon receiver and emotiva power amp connected to 5.2.4 arendal speaker setup? I buy exactly what I intend to buy. I would prefer for my consoles to output 4k, or upscaled 4k, to the one s 1080p, which is what you're getting in most titles going forward for that system. No thanks.
Sure wish the optimized for ps5/series x cyberpunk version was going to be ready at launch or soon thereafter. As it stands, I will be waiting to play that version, and avoid spoilers until then. My backlog is heavy, so I can wait, and I avoided spoilers for many major titles I didn't play at launch so I'm good........I think.

I got a ps5 launch day and a delayed delivery of series x just this past sunday, nov. 21. I don't "regret" buying the series x, I knew what I was buying and I bought it primarily for one reason.....I skipped the xbox one last gen and my 4th xbox 360 gave up the ghost late the previous gen. So on day one, I went with gamepass and downloaded the following games that I had yet to play - Alan Wake, Anthem, Battlefield V, Dishonored 2, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Gears 4, Gears Judgm...
The dualsense is fantastic. I managed to get a ps5 and series x, and without a doubt it's the first time I can say the playstation controller is hands down better than the xbox controller. I have more ability to grip the ps5 controller lower on the handles than the xbox controller, while still having perfectly comfortable access to the L1 R1 buttons, more comfortably than on the series x controller. The haptics on the ps5 controller are another level that will really impact gameplay in ma...
With the mess that has been the rollout of both consoles, and the nvidia and amd graphics cards, I feel very fortunate to have gotten what I personally wanted....got my ps5 at launch from best buy in store pickup, and got a series x preorder from Amazon. The series x was delayed but got delivered nov. 21.

I'm waiting as well, and in regards to supporting the developer, if you haven't bought the game and are buying the upgrade, you will still be paying full retail at the time the upgrade is released (I assume) so they will still see that boost when the upgrade drops in 2021, because only those who buy the game prior to that will get the upgrade for free.

I managed to secure a ps5 launch day best buy in store pickup. I got a series x preorder from amazon that was delayed, buy arrived Sunday nov. 21. Got lucky. The particular best buy I got my ps5 from said they got in about 80 ps5's and about 120 series x's, which surprised me they had received more xbox's.

I find that to be the case as well. And it spins intermittently when you leave a drive in the tray.
The problem I could see that the console may be within tolerances (barely) but 1. Astrobot is not a game that will push and stress the hardware as heavily as future ps5 games will, and 2. What happens when you operate the ps5 in a room where the ambient temperature is far above the controlled 20 degrees celsius of this room's test environment? In the heat and humidity of summer, in places where many don't have central air or even air conditioning, this could be an issue going forwar...

My ps5 is silent the majority of the time, but if there is a disc in the tray when it's spins up from time to time it is pretty loud.
