is this actually supposed to be another competition? Or are we so used to comparisons turning into arguments about which is better that we immediately jump on that aspect?
I just figured it was to highlight the huge difference that the game engine itself is capable of producing. Perhaps it's using a dynamic engine that allows for weather/effects changes on the fly, so as you play the game it changes the look of the environment. Or maybe it will be tied into the story/gameplay in the fi...
If Halo3 is a 10/10, then those games should all get an 11/10, right? Or, at the very least, 10/10 as well.
Or maybe this just shows that perhaps Halo3 isn't really a "perfect" title afterall...
The ironing is delicious.
is so deeply into the whole Halo universe as a lot of the people here; many of those questions make a lot of sense for the average gamer, not to mention a casual one. Most people I know who have played Halo3 played the other two; but the one person I know who just bought a 360 and never played the other two was so confused throughout that it's ridiculous. Bungie may have created one hell of a universe, but it's a bit inclusive if you don't want to get into every single thing that's Halo relat...
This plus a cheaper sku would certainly be one big, big bang. I seriously doubt it though; a new game or something like that possibly, but whatever it has to be something that would affect the holiday season given it's timing.
My money is with everyone else's on a new sku in time for the holidays though, especially one that undercuts the elite's pricing; for the general public, looking at the reaction to the 60gb "fire sale", that would certainly be a big enough bang.
Looking great, I've had mine ordered on Amazon for weeks now. After some of the latest previews said that the gameplay had been tweaked and was coming together as well as the graphics... looks like it's finally going to be the game that everyone should be able to agree is AAA on the ps3.
BTW, is it just my imagination or did someone go through and click disagree on every post through about 27?
Just picked up mine... and it's scratched. Now, to see if I can exchange it at the store, because I'm not waiting at least two weeks for MS to ship a replacement.
You attack the weak point for massive damage, how else would you do it?
but the level of creativity offered by LBP blows away anything we've seen from Halo3. The forge mode may be a big deal for console FPS titles, but when LBP arrives we'll see what user created content on a console is all about.
Halo's Forge is an editor; LBP is a creator.
and there are several games on there I will own when they release... but release dates make a lot of those basically fall out of the "next" category in my book. 7 of those games don't even have a release date beyond "2008", if they have one at all. PGR4 will be good, but isn't going to make waves. After that... February 2008 is the soonest for any of those according to IGN.
*Hilarious, someone disagrees with release dates.*
Sony doesn't have anything to answer to Halo 3 with. Halo3 is a world unto itself, and will sell systems. Hell, it sold systems long before now.
However, I haven't seen anything on the 360 that competes with Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm or what we've seen of Uncharted or Ratchet and Clank, even if just from the standpoint of genres. Forget about MGS4 and FF13. None of those games may sell like Halo3 will, but they definitely bring something to the table that the 360 doesn't really have a...
A lot of the reviews I've read so far say it's a great game... but they bring up so many flaws, issues and problems that it really does make one wonder how much of the score is the result of hype. I especially keep hearing the end of it referred to as a train-wreck, disaster... other words of that nature. Isn't that the whole point of this game, to "finish the fight"? Multiplayer will rock I'm sure, but I'm more of a campaign mode fan...
I played the first two; I enjoyed them...
at a lower price would still be better overall in my opinion, but I have to admit, if I were in the market for a ps3... I'd happily buy this.
Stupid move. That's just one more reason for people to wait to buy a ps3.
notice how up-to-date their url for this is?
"playstation-3/just-add- monsters-project-untitled-next- gen-game-/"
Glad they decided the game is actually quite good afterall... welcome to the club.
So, explain to me why DVD prices dropped so quickly, and deeply? It didn't have to compete with another disc-based movie format; what drove the decline in it's price?
is that it isn't any good for anyone. Studios, consumers, electronics manufacturers... anyone who disagrees, please explain how having both formats around is more beneficial than having only one. And no, "competition=lower prices" isn't a viable response, the lack of a competing format certainly hasn't affected DVD prices as much as mass-manufacturning has.
and there is no way the vast majority of gamers would ever put that thing where it can be seen anywhere in their house. It's definitely a console only the most fervent of fanboys would decorate their parent's basement with.
I've been playing, and savoring, this game. Only through chapter 2, and I couldn't tell you how long I've actually played. I know I hit the first round of gameplay as Kai several times because it was so entertaining, as well as the above mentioned round of defending the fort with the fire cannon. Right now I'm surprised by the amount of depth there actually is to the combat. To me it falls between Ninja Gaiden and God of War; it's deep enough to require thought, strategy and learning the syst...
and 19 movies on BluRay; too bad I don't count in the eyes of the HDDVD camp as one of the people who owns a BluRay player since it's not standalone. Any story counting just the standalone players is spin and nothing more.
