That's not the only thing several developers need to learn from Naughty Dog...
someone, on the internet, lied to us?
My world view has been turned upside down.
this would be the second round. The 360 won the first one, but it should be under review from the judges.
you'd have no idea which console you were looking at, framerate and everything else looked basically identical. That load after death is truly awful though, definitely an extra incentive not to die on the ps3 version.
but I want it.
He was raised in the "ideal" of people like Jack Thompson and others who condemn games. Very much a church going individual, with strict parents who obviously tried to control what media he was allowed to see, hear and read. He even attended missionary training at the first location that he attacked. Basically, he was raised perfectly in the eyes of many of the people who would attack our hobby and otherwise blame the media for people that do these sorts of things.
Of...
and that would definitely account for a drop in the framerate... seems a little suspicious. I mean, the framerate wasn't 100% smooth on the ps3, but that was the only section that I really noticed as being bad. Hardly makes for a fair comparison.
that they were able to get the game ready in time for the holidays. How much would it have sucked for gamers if epic were to delay the whole game for just these tools?
Obviously their priority was the game itself, it's not like this is something that needs to be in place for you to enjoy the game now.
that according to a survey from last June only about 30% of homes have an HD set (closer to 36-40% by the end of this year), that's really not a bad number overall. Of course DVD is still greatly outselling it's HD rivals, it's simply the most popular format, and the most widely available/compatible. Most people are just now planning on buying the TV that can play it, in the next couple years we'll see the players catch up with that... especially if we can get down to one format.
I liked the first Killzone a fair amount as well. Maybe not more than COD4... but I think that a lot of people who talk about how much it sucked probably never even played it, they're just parroting what they've heard. Although it wasn't a "Halo Killer" like so many love to throw out, it did a lot of things right and was overall a good game, and worth trying out in my opinion. It certainly had it's problems, and the most glaring of those was that it was too much for the ps2 to handl...
The last time I stepped foot in a CompUSA was when one of the local stores closed... looks like it's time for another visit, I think Denver still has a couple. There was a lot of crap, but there was still some stuff worth buying when they really started getting desperate.
That just means you didn't get a headshot. When you hit someone in the head in this game, they go down. People who claim otherwise don't know where they were shooting, plain and simple.
Are we going to start getting a "news" submission every time some random person uploads a ps3 theme?
I don't really care about the whole "exact change" thing, but it's annoying not to be able to just look at the price of something and know how much it actually costs. It's not even like it's a real easy conversion for a lot of items with odd pricing, like movies and TV shows or extra content.
But, I know that's part of why MS does it; people are more apt to lose track of spending of points rather than dollars, especially since once it's loaded on there it doesn't really feel ...
Working in advertising, the general (possibly unofficial) rule for copywriting was to reach an audience with an elementary school reading level. I've heard it's similar for most newspapers. Scary thing is, that's the average reading level for the US
The way this thing works is likely by analyzing sentence length, number of syllables per word and possibly overall vocabulary. It doesn't really say much about how well written any of it is, or even what education level it's aimed a...
and I've had glitches that made me restart the game. Haven't had the "real-time freeze" happen, but the whole system has locked up a few times, and I've had the controls go unresponsive while riding the horse as well. It may be worse on the ps3, but it's not all sunshine and unicorn farts on the 360 either.

There you go, the press release you posted, posted on n4g. No worries if you didn't see it, but it's still old news.
This was announced before MS ever said they were doing the same thing. This is a press release from Nov 13. What hoop is Sony jumping through?
but I realized it would be so much more telling to see who actually reads the article by leaving it the way it is. I swear that some people here just pound their fists into their keyboards without reading more than the headline when they make comments.
we'll see those in the US before then; don't forget that threespeech is a UK blog.
