There are plenty of PEOPLE to blame here, not games.

To me, this video is more interesting from a "this is how it's perceived" viewpoint than any actual information. Let's face it, nothing said in here is news to any of us; but the way it's presented, and the way the two people involved see the situation, is pretty funny in a scary way. He's so friggin animated through the whole video, waving his hands in all directions, it's no wonder he loves the Wii controls. Add in the year old video from G4 and it pretty much sums up the general ...

It's hard to tell really; they are obviously losing money on consoles NOT sold because they aren't on shelves, and that's just not good business. On the other hand, it does seem to have created more demand for the product, since it's so hard to find. Let's face it, articles on the daily news about the Wii aren't about it's unique technology, the quality of it's games or anything of that nature; they are all related to how incredibly hard it is to find one. If you can't buy it, it must be popu...

Most people don't even have their TVs adjusted properly in general, so I doubt the average person is going to notice any "problems" with what their PS3 is displaying when it comes to color/contrast.

Now, someone explain why Sony doesn't shout this news from the rooftops in time for Christmas?

Sorry this isn't recent, but judging from this thread it hasn't changed...

Nearly 50% of the Americans surveyed cannot read well enough to find a single piece of information in a short publication, nor can they make low level inferences based on what they read.

or just stop printing? Because it's a big difference, and anyone that's worked in the printing industry will have a different view of it. Who knows how many boxes of cards had already been printed; it's not exactly something that most companies keep up for months on end, it's a print run that likely had quite a few cards produced, and they've stopped until supply hits a certain point. It may not ever hit that point if it doesn't sell well, but to try and tie the end of a print run into the fa...

this will be the closest generation we've seen in a long time, each console seems to be targeting fairly different segments. It'll be interesting to see what affect this has on the next generation of consoles as well, whether we'll see high-powered (and priced) monsters or more of a Wii approach.

the Wii is the one they say is least likely to come out on top, with the PS3 following the 360 more closely in comparison... but I'm guessing we'll see most comments poking the stick at Sony.

whoever is behind it has figured out a surefire way to generate hits. No matter how stupid it is, it always seems to get posted as news here.

I agree with you... feels sort of icky.

The reason neither format is dominating the overall market is that the overall market doesn't really exist yet; this is still DVD's world, and will be until the majority of people own HD sets. That time is coming soon, considering I'm not even sure if you can buy an old analog set at most electronics stores, but it's simply not here yet.
Hell, I don't think that 1 year into it's life DVD was "dominating" the home video ma...

One for myself, one as an early Christmas gift for a friend. This is one of the must-have titles of this year, plain and simple. I'm tired of people who seem to think every game needs to have multiplayer, considering how often that just feels tacked-on to what is an otherwise superb single player title.

I've already noticed a lot of variations as well, so far they've all felt pretty different to me. Don't know if they are dynamic or canned animations, but your speed and angle when you crash definitely change what happens dramatically.

didn't notice a difference when I played them back-to-back last night. They both look and feel great, and I literally had a huge grin on my face the first time I crashed and watched the front end of my car meet the back end. Can't wait for this game, regardless of which system I buy it for.

I'd think that he'd want to keep up with what's going on in his industry, and especially be aware of games that compete directly with his own. Doesn't mean he needs to play them or anything, but I'd hope anyone in a creative position would be more... open, shall we say? He may be focusing on Japan, but he works on a global level, and as such he should be aware of what's going on in gaming everywhere, not just in his own country, let alone company.

Now THAT is a fanboy. All respect to the man's work, but not knowing about a huge series that is in direct competition with your own? He's either lying and being arrogant, or stuck under a colorful, smiley faced rock in Mario's world.

Definitely sounds like "reach a (monetary) agreement". Can't they just pull hair and slap each other like the teenage girls they obviously are, release the patch and have this over with?
