Heh. Good to see the Warriors games selling well, and finally getting some of the critical reception in the west they deserve :)

It's also worth mentioning that a proper localisation for the UK market will be slightly different to the English version that is available in America.

Localisation isn't as easy as people think; there are entire textbooks on the subject, and it needs to be done for every single location.

Well said, Ulf. Completely agree with you.

Sony's been clear from the outset that the Vita isn't designed to appeal to everyone. They're looking to sell to people who really, really love games. I don't believe Sony expects to even outsell the 3DS.

And as you said, it doesn't matter. As long as the games are made, and sell (early indications are "yes" to both answers), and as long as consumers are happy with the product (and it&...

Disappointing =\= bad. The words have entirely different meanings.

Thief 2 was an incredible game. Great score for GOG.

Five per cent of a very big number is... a very big number ;)

That list is more or less what could be expected.

Personally, I really enjoyed FFXII. But I also realise I'm part of a very small group there :P

Wait, what?

RPGs haven't even tried to be like Dungeons & Dragons since SSI. Dungeons & Dragons is a supremely tactical game, and modern RPGs are action games.

Not that modern RPGs are bad - they're good fun - they're just not "mired in pen-and-paper gaming" at all. :-/

There are already PS2 games on the iOS. Not Sony ones, but the article wasn't about Sony games.

Noting that you replied to this in less than 3 minutes from when it went up...

How the heck could you have read that article in less than three minutes?

I wasn't aware that I just implied throwaway entertainment is academy-award worthy.

Throwaway entertainment is simple fun. Hitman never pretended to be a work of art, but it sure as heck was entertaining (thanks in part to the hot chick getting naked)

So Hitman stars Olga Kurylenko. Who gets pretty nude.

How is that on any "bad movie" lists?

You mean, LostWinds the Wii game and Scribblenauts the DS game?

I'm fairly sure the Wii and DS are consoles.

Yes yes yes. Great news for iPad owners.

When did wargames become FPSers?

Wargames are tabletop strategy games. Battlefield and plays nothing like War and Peace, actually.

Reviewers need to explain themselves because gamers make silly comments like "It's not a 10, it's a 9.8"

Because .2 is such a massive difference, and every single person on the planet has exactly the same understanding of what the difference between 9.8 and 10.0 are.

In an ideal world, we'd get rid of review scores because they just give a big group of gamers an excuse to get all angry, without having to do some reading first.

The problem is anyone with a blog can call themselves a "journalist" now.

It would be like some random dude walking into an operating theatre, grabbing a scapel and performing an open heart surgery with no university training or qualifications.

People that go through formal journalism degrees and cadetships with newspapers or magazines learn about things such as ethics and how to report on stuff properly. Games journalism doesn't have many of ...

The real problem is that many of the RPG fans and developers have never played a pen-and-paper RPG.

The genre looks absolutely nothing like why I grew up with with 2nd and 3rd edition Dungeons & Dragons. And what I grew up with was categorically better.

Gaming is one of the cheapest hobbies out there, when you consider hours of entertainment for price.

And some gamers still whine. How much more entitled do people need to be?!

@vortis

Interesting that you think you know better than the management of not just one or two, but dozens of large multinational corporations.

I take it you sit on a few boards and have a phd in commerce or economic theory?
