There is an Eye of Judgement for the PSP, which is downloadable via PSN, that does away with the AR.
I don't know if you have a PSP, but hope that helps :)
Sniper games have so much potential - I know I enjoy sniper sections in regular FPSers the most. Fingers crossed some of the problems with the first game can be fixed this time around.
@Lavalamp1138 - yeah, I've still got hopes for a Nier 2, there is still a lot of life in that franchise.
It was disappointing more because Cavia made some great games back in the day. It was behind Drakengard as well on the PS2, another underrated classic in my opinion. Square Enix lost a lot of talent in that studio - I hope they were rehired to other teams.
It greatly upset me to see Cavia shut down before it could make a Nier 2.
Not surprised in the slightest. The New Zealanders are hosting the world cup after all. They love their sport.
Tecmo Koei is involved. That likely does mean a Musou (Warriors) game.
It'll be one of Namco Bandai's franchises.
I'm excited about Warriors: Pac Man.
Good point, Tachyon. And I certainly agree that the faster, and dare I say "arcade" RTS games out there (such as Starcraft) would never work on consoles.
But what about some of the slower paced RTS games? R.U.S.E plays really well on the PS3 for instance, and there's a whole genre of games - grand strategy - where even if they are RTS games, they're very slow paced. A controller (or Move, or Wiimote) would be sufficient for those.
It's...
The article addresses all those things though: grand strategy games, even the real-time ones, usually don't require many keyboard inputs, and could be mapped to a controller quite easily.
As for the demand thing... that's why PSN and XBLA is there, to release "riskier" games that don't require quite so many sales to make a return on investment :)
Back in the day consoles weren't great for strategy games, but there's no real reaso...
I do hope this actually gets a English release.
Oh I hope so.
AngelGirl, I didn't realise you've played all those games to be able to tell us whether they're good or not.
Thanks for that. Can you give me a review of Call of Duty 8 while you're here?
Oh gosh From Software is awesome.
The PS2 and SNES both have games that look great.
Aesthetics are what's important, not pushing polygons :)
This is a seriously awesome series. Can't wait.
Well, loss leading isn't a sign of trouble, either. In fact, loss leading is the smartest thing Nintendo's done in ages. It's a proven commercial practice.
Nintendo wants third party support. The only way it's going to get that is by getting consoles into people's hands. Hence the loss leading. If it pays off then Nintendo will more than make the money back from third party licensing fees.
Stock drops, while not exactly positive, are not a definitive sign that a company is "in trouble."
This is awesome news. Spiderweb is great.
Wargames, as the gaming genre (and not the military exercise) are strategy games. In the early days they were the tabletop miniature games, and board games like War & Peace.
In modern video games, they're stuff like Panzer Commander, Panzer Corps and other high level military strategy games.
Mount & Blade is a action RPG, really, with some very light strategic elements.
Mount & Blade isn't really a wargame though.
Having a shrinking, aging population ruins a national economy (you know, people retire and then become a burden, rather than productive member of the economy).
That's the problem.
