That's not how consumer sentiment works. You have a few hundred thousand people suddenly lose access to their games and regardless of whether OnLive was well-run or not, people are going to be more cautious with other Cloud services in the future.

(well said, BTW. I'm not arguing with you for the sake of arguing, but this is an interesting debate to be had :) )

Square Enix has an increase in revenue and profit in the past financial year. Therefore I am certain they understand business better than you.

I didn't realise that the almighty "Xof" understands business, branding and market alignment better than a company with tens of thousands of employees. But clearly he does since he feels like he's in a position to be critical of Square Enix's business strategy.

Got to love the armchair expert.

And by "love" I mean :eyeroll:

Really? A retailer defends something that benefits retailers? What incredible investigative journalism!

The animation looks a little stilted and low budget, but the actual art style looks gorgeous.

WTH is with this piece?

I would rather they hire more resources for single player.

Yeah it's so funny when people's jobs are threatened.

@TransMuse - that was the point, really. A game about killing, and because of the way it is designed, you only take notice of the game, not the killing.

I want to see game studios start to put some humanity into the games. The best films and books are not about wonton destruction; they're about people and their stories. Mainstream game developers need to grow up and beyond a typical Steven Segal film and understand that they are a dominant entertainment form, and should ...

None of that had anything to do with the article, you realise?

"I offered what I felt, in my not-humble opinion, to be a fairly unique analysis when I suggested that the living head of Juliet's boyfriend, Nick, was an exercise in role reversal."

Not really. For anyone with half a brain that was obviously what Lollipop Chainsaw was about.

Unfortunately many gaming critics need someone to explain to them what an orange is before they'll believe that the round, orange object in front of them is an orange,...

I already covered gameplay expansions with Dragon Age Origins, which, in my opinion, is the finest gameplay "expansion pack" I've played.

Rather than just list off five good gameplay expansions, I wanted to represent the full range of ways that DLC can enhance the gameplay experience.

So yes, fun costumes and Chess sets.

@Sono,

He said:

"Nobody in their rights minds are jealous of anything China has to offer"

A load of crap. There are a lot of really good jobs in China for expats. Not everyone in China works in a factory.

He said:

Nope.

Nope. That's not a highli...

Yep, that's funny alright.

Whoever would have thought that a company that employs thousands of people would need to make some money from the work they do?

lol.

@dirthurts - that's why they release games as Free-to-play in China. Otherwise they'll get pirated.

This way the 1 per cent of people that would spend money on the game can support it, without piracy killing the company in the process.

It's so cute when people like @Brutallyhonest have never been to a country, but act like they're experts.

And by "cute" I mean "highly ignorant"

Not that China's an amazing place to live, but it's nowhere near the picture you're painting, either.

I'm going to guess you're American.

Are you sure about that? No developer is even coming close to "Nickel and dime." 30 per cent cost-to-revenue ratio is the number most businesses aim for. Breaking even isn't even close enough for a sustainable business.

And yet, even though virtually no one is hitting the targets to be a sustainable business, gamers are complaining about the prices they have to pay, and even $1 DLC.

No, gamers are not complaining about "Nickel and dime.&q...

From memory, Ayesha is not an Arland game. It's a whole new story arc.

There were a lot of Atelier games before Rorona, too. But Rorona, Totorie and Meruru are specifically a trilogy of lthematically - and plot - linked games.

That said, I may well be wrong, please link me to a source for Ayesha being another Apprentice of Arland game. That would make me very happy :)
