Yeah, I think starchild has a valid point. Consoles don't have to be bleeding edge, they just need to be up there at each major step. So, 4K and VR ,they are major industry changes that need to be considered, but 4K at 120HZ rather than 60HZ isn't so relevant. Console cycles will reduce though, it's kinda enevitable. 3-4 yrs seems reasonable as long as each new gen is at least backwards compat with previous. So effectively gen's will be 5-6 yrs, if you follow.

For me, the value will depend on what it does. Sure, 450-500 isn't too much if it delivers games developed to take advantage of it's power from the ground up.I do believe it will have exclusives - VR exclusives, on the basis that X1 can't deliver VR, and even the zealots will probably accept that so won't feel robbed.
