For me, the value will depend on what it does. Sure, 450-500 isn't too much if it delivers games developed to take advantage of it's power from the ground up.I do believe it will have exclusives - VR exclusives, on the basis that X1 can't deliver VR, and even the zealots will probably accept that so won't feel robbed. On the other hand, if it's just to upgrade rez for X1 games, then what's the point? Really, why bother. 900p assets at 4K? Yeah, that's a pass.

I have found BC quite good. Recently I played Prey, which kinda reminded me of a few old games like Dead space, so I have been playing DS 1&2 on BC at no extra cost, since I aready own these games. That's cool. Also, as we move away from distinct console generations BC is going to become essential, because consoles will be changing and advancing at a faster pace.Any one console may not be around for more than a couple of years. Therefore, it makes sense to have their games transfer to...

Firstly, yes, games are the most important thing,no question. That said, anything that contributes to a games immersion or realism is also, very important. And graphics - meaning resolution, quality and frame rate, all add enormously to our enjoyment of a game- second to it being a good game, of course. I suspect we all agree on that, otherwise we would still all be playing 640X480. But, all this fanboy nonsense is extremely irritating to real gamer's like myself. I'm fortunate to own ...

Sony fan boy and Xbox fan boy comments aside, this isn't what a 6TF console is all about. PC gamers have been able to upscale older games with higher res and improved graphics for years! And let me tell ya, the results are very limited. As the saying goes; You can't make a silk purse from a pigs ear. The Scorpio is a power house - in terms of consoles that is, but it's of no value whatsoever if polishing turds is your only objective. MS needs to develop all new games on Scorpio uti...

This question hits right at the heart of the mid gen upgrades. Both Pro and Scorpio are capable of a lot more that the standard models. Way I see it, both companies have two options. Firstly, develop all new titles to take full advantage of the more powerful machines, and then downgrade to standard models. This way, both Sony and MS maintain their promise of no exclusives for the upgraded machines, but at same time give real reasons for people to buy them. The other way, and I fear the more l...

Okay. This is not a wind up or me being sarcastic, but now I'm completely befuddled with this whole Scorpio thing. When this machine first surfaced I thought, at last a console with the power of PC,but the convenience of console -heaven right? Day one purchase, right? Then we get all this, but Scorpio won't have any games that aren't available on X1. So What then is the point of all this power.Does this mean new games will be developed firstly for Scorpio -taking advantage of all...

Series is great,I pre -ordered this,But.... the first two episodes are sooo short! Impressed with the gameplay and artwork as usual, however, very disappointed with the length of episodes.Reminds me of how candy bar companies keep prices the same so people buy, but shave thickness off the candy bar itself. Not cool.

All true 343 -Well,as far as we can know at this stage. Curious though, noone is mentioning Disk I/O. A standard SSD already saturates SATAIII, and with Native 4K coming, that's an awful lot of data to be shifting around.I'm hoping that MS will be at least considering NVMe for project Scorpio. To my mind, the idea of still putting up with load screens and waits, when in all other areas, the scorpio will excel -for a console, seems out sync. Imagine, a disk I/O interface diesigned for ...

Many people, myself included, don't think 6TF will be sufficient for 4K gaming at high frame rates.Though, to be fair,I don't recall MS claiming high frame rates at 4K. Regardless, 6TF of power in a generic PC GPU doesn't necessarily equate to 6TF in a streamlined SOC APU,approach. We all know the benefits of a consistent h/w platform when developing games. Anyway, whatever its 4K performance turns out to be, Scorpio AND for that matter Neo,will at last be giving gamers what they ...

^ This is a Possibility imo. TBH, at this stage we don't actually know for sure what the specs are, do we?

Personally, I welcome Neo & Scorpio. Powerful consoles are long overdue, and gamers deserve better. A 4TF console, with standardised H/W is going to be very impressive. It wouldn't surprise be if both Sony and Ms up the anti spec wise, before launch. Anyone want to buy a cheap PS4 and X1 ?

I'm a Uk citizen, and voted on the referendum, but I'm also older generation. Anyway,I completely agree with ARK_'s sentiments -Personally, I see myself as European first, then British and lastly,English. From my perspective, the reason so much of the population in England and Wales -not Scotland BTW, voted to leave the EU was on the immigration issue. Now, irrespective of your views on that, the fact is that the majority of Brexit voters come from the less well educated, more vu...

Yeah, I think starchild has a valid point. Consoles don't have to be bleeding edge, they just need to be up there at each major step. So, 4K and VR ,they are major industry changes that need to be considered, but 4K at 120HZ rather than 60HZ isn't so relevant. Console cycles will reduce though, it's kinda enevitable. 3-4 yrs seems reasonable as long as each new gen is at least backwards compat with previous. So effectively gen's will be 5-6 yrs, if you follow.

Maybe worth bearing in mind that neither Neo or Scorpio specs are set in stone, so expect some movement on these as MS and Sony try to match. I do agree 6TFLOPS isn't the ultimate for 4K gaming, but it's hella of an improvement from where we are now.My only slight concern is how are these consoles going to cope with immergent technologies like NVMe ? The move from mechnical HDD's will be significant once NVMe becomes widespread. SSD's will start to show their potential - conso...

Without Nintendo, gaming would be diminished. Don't have one of their latest consoles, but NX with this game could be enough. I think it's a fair choice for best at E3

Clearly, Scorpio's specs are designed to meet two specific objectives - proper 4K gaming, and high quality VR gaming. That is the primary reason for buying this hardware. However, Scorpio's power will not be limited to only those two features. And any suggestion to the contrary is nonsense, in my opinion. MS has made a bold move, and for once I also thinks it's a good move. Day one purchase for me, but I will still want to keep my PC and PS4. Honestly though, I believe that once V...

This generation -meaning X1 and PS4,is already over. Sony has clearly dominated this gen, certainly in terms of sales. But that's the point, as I see it.If your competitor produces products that outsell your offering for whatever reason, you move on to the next generation as quickly as the market will allow. I don't think MS see Scorpio as a challenge to PS4 -too late PS4 has already won.More likely, they see it as an opportunity to husher in the next, next gen.As an all formats gamer ...
