Producing video games is a risky business. Devs want to sell as many units as possible. The relative low development time required to add support for X1X, has already been aspoused by various devs. The X1X will be well supported, no doubt. However, support from Japanese devs for market specific titles will, I'm sure be much less, as is usual for such titles.

My advice. If you pre-ordered on plastic, get in touch with your Credit Card company and demand they refund you whatever fee BB is charging. Let the CC companies go after BB.

I still don't have a clue how this is gonna work. And MS really hasn't helped the situation, imo. If, like you would expect, games are developed firstly on PC, then X1X, and finally down to X1, then most games should make extensive use of X1X capabilities. If the only restriction MS have is the game - in some form -has to appear on both consoles that shouldn't restrict anything. I don't see dev's releasing a low quality version of their game on X1X, knowing what's expe...

Yeah, I like the homage to the original Atari ' Woody ', but exactly what is it? If its' a super duper new uber console, then yeah, bring it on. However, if it's just a nostalgia box, then okay, but is there a market for it ?

Topic close to my heart. As a younger gamer, I only ever played games on the hardest difficulty setting, mainly so I could enjoy the game for the longest time while it was all new to me. Now, as an older gamer, I find not only have I less time to play, but struggle with the harder difficulty levels. But to be honest, easy modes don't always help. I find easy modes are generally too easy, while hard modes are too hard. The best way to set difficulty, imo, is to have a sliding, graduated, di...

Sex in video games? Cringeworthy! Pixel porn is so sad. Along with all the body dismorphic women with breasts the size of mountains and shapes that aren't naturally possible. Of course, if you're under thirty you probably disagree, but that's fine - just wait until you have kids, hopefully you will shift your opinion. However, I do think dev's should be more responsible in there portrayal of young women, and young men for that matter. There's already enough pressure on you...

Of course, the proof of the pudding...However, the synergy of the design(relatively speaking) should produce results in excess of the individual component numbers. This not only means H/W, but software advantages too. Does it compete with high end PC's? No, of course not, but does it cost the same as a high end PC? The majority of disparaging comments are based on a 'distorted allegiance'. That's kind of expected, but this console, along with PS4 PRO is good for ALL gamers.

Hey, what's a little punctuation compared to passion. :)

Me too. Great game.

I play this on PC for smooth gameplay, although I do have Xbox 1 version. Xbox version responds slowly at starports and stutters between screen changes. I genuinely hope PS4 version is better, because it's a good game IMO.

MS has confused me somewhat with the XBX. If you want to make a statement of intent, and let's face it that's what the XBX is.You don't make it by gimping you rising star with a weak CPU. Essentially, XBX is a show piece and a banner for MS. For such consumer delights, people will pay. So, why not upgrade CPU to something worthy? Yes, XBX is a synergised device, no doubt, but all that synergy could be for nought. The only reason MS has for sticking with the low end CPU is cost. To...

It(market share) certainly is all to play for, but I agree that Sony's message has been clear, and the message has been supported by games PS4 owners want. Results are there for all to see. To this day, I am pleased that gamers rejected the MS message of dictating to gamers. But things are changing. How much they will change remains to be seen. One things for sure though,MS and Sony fighting for our money is a +ve thing for gamers and console development.

I have always thought that such purchases of games consoles are based on the following. Price, performance, and content. These seem reasonable criterea to me. And looking at PS4 Pro, there's no doubt it's a good buy. Better buy than XBX? I'm happy to let gamers decide. However, there does seem to be a further reason for people's choice these days. One that I'm not at all comfortable with. A perverted sense of allegiance.

No. The XBX is not a 'beefier, stronger' PS4 Pro. Yes. It is 'stronger' than PS4 Pro. Yes. It is 'beefier' than PS4 Pro. However, it's not a better version of anything. It's a XBX. The word is 'synergy'. The design is such that all parts have been designed both from a H/W perspective, and a S/W perspective to produce a product this is greater than the sum of it's parts. This is in stark contrast to a PC, which is generalised in every aspect. Bleeding...

The answer to this isn't as complicated as some make out. Remove any specific events such as 'gamergate', and political agendas that may, or may not exist. All people should behave with respect, tolerance and compassion toward each other. Is that last sentence a reasonable assumption to make? Griefing can hurt people, and bullying can hurt people. Why would you want to hurt people, is a question that's more difficult to answer.

As both a PC and console gamer, I do use Steam, reluctantly. The games industry certainly on PC at least, has created this model for obvious reasons, and frankly it's very difficult to avoid. But Steam does need competition, and as others have pointed out, that competiton will come predominently, from MS. Monopolies aren't usually a good thing for customers, and Steam is no different.

Rather than play console wars with this, it's probably better if we direct our scorn to the industry in general. For too long now, the industry has treated gamers with disdain in this regard. MS,Sony and many developers are guilty of these deceptions. Please, speak out, but make this gamers Vs deception and not gamers Vs gamers. Just a note of caution. We don't know for absolute certainty what the final quality of this game will be, on any platform. Maybe, just maybe, the original sho...

And what did they say about 1080p gaming? Look, I love Nintendo, it's the ONLY company imo that still make FUN games, but really, if you have a console that doesn't support even the most popular resolutions, then you really have little to comment about.

As I've suggested elswhere, Sony will be supporting BC soon enough. Whether they like it or not. Shorter console genrations will dictate this. Buy a PS5, two years later we have PS6. Like it or not, it's the way the market is moving. Therefore, logic says BC will be needed more and more. Maybe not quite in the same way. I mean people will still be buying new for previous gen, but playing on latest gen if you follow me. Just like we have now with Pro and the coming Scorpio. Anyway, that...

IMO Sony will be forced to add BC, eventually, because console generations are becoming shorter. If future consoles only lasts for say, two years, then BC becomes much more relevant. Personally, I'm quite happy with shorter console generations if it means avanced gaming, but I would feel a little put out if I can't play fairly recent games on my new console.
