Maybe the grave scene's from the end of Resident Evil 5, and shortly afterwards, Chris is about to commit suicide, but then before he can pull the trigger, Jill reveals herself to be alive, and reveals the truth about Umbrella, but then she dies because of a mutated T-virus that Chris was injected with by the weapon merchant.
"Jaqck says "groovy" at the end It made lol and made me think of Evil Dead 3. points added."
As much as I hesitate to say anything that might result in points being un-added, having listened to it a couple times, I think Jack actually said "Groupies."
It seems like it fits more in the context of the line right beforehand where the voice says "Make your fans happy" and showing Jack getting ambushed by a group of five or so p...
"I didn't imply that. I haven't even played the first one yet."
I believe Smacktard was referring to sidar's comment in 9.1.
:)
I'd like to see us go full circle and thus have an article wherein we have a list of the ten most disappointing "Ten Most" lists of 2008.
"Time should be trendsetter. They should be the ones informing these old people about how far gaming has come."
People who actually read Time might tell you that it regularly has features in its Arts section wherein they detail and review works that readers should be aware of, and that these have in the past featured videogames alongside critically acclaimed books, music albums, shows, plays, and films.
Wait, the issue is that Time magazine categorized the list as "Business, Tech, or Sport"? That's it?
Is "Business, Tech, or Sport" some kind of Australian insult that's lost on my seppo ears or something?
"In the meantime, at least we know that Time Magazine, for all its prestige, is actually behind the times."
Yeah, especially compared with all those *other* legitimate mainstream news publications that actually give a...
Perhaps, but is that not the cost of freedom? Inherent within the principle of choice is that some people will inevitably choose poorly in some respects.
Well, that was pretty silly of the mother if she was serious. Kids rarely, if ever, understand the long-term consequences of their immediate actions. It's one of the reasons why they're not in charge of making life decisions until they're 18.
That said, I don't know many mothers who would legitimately pose that question if their family really were in such a financial situation where the choice came down to clothes or games. I imagine the kid you're talking about didn't have to...
Nintendo's fairly gracious to respond this way. If I were a company and my product did that well, my response would be more along the lines of "My competition is going to need a bigger boat."
That may be true, but on the other hand, there are some people who would consider entertainment itself to be a need.
Maybe there's a guy who feels he can connect with his children by buying a console and playing with them on it. Maybe there are some people whose family time consists of watching movies every night. Or maybe there's someone stuck in an exhausting job most of the day and gaming helps him unwind for a couple hours.
I'm not certain of the extent tha...
Personally, I say the Army Men series has been extremely mishandled.
By which I mean that the people who're planning on making another one have not been thrown off a cliff yet.
Well, so much for anyone who was saying that videogames would be hurt by the recession this holiday season.
Personally, I'm of the impression that the whole "Videogames are/aren't art" debate is more of a semantic red herring. I've always liked the definition that art is whatever is intended to be art. It may not be good art, or aesthetically pleasing art, or even very substantive art, but if someone makes something and says "This is my art", then alright, fine.
The people who really engage in peddling the notion of "videogames aren't art" tend to be cu...
This is actually a pretty solid article. A bit of a shame, then, that it's going to be mostly ignored in favor of petty articles like which system 'won' 2008 or whatever.
Well, if the game's good, here's hoping they bring it stateside.
"EXACTLY! It would be like someone giving you a million dollars.. then going broke.. and when they ask you for 20 bucks you tell them to f*ck off"
That comparison is not apt: No one simply "gives" money to companies. Transactions are *always* a two-way street.
A more valid illustration would be someone giving you a million dollars, and in return you give them a million dollars worth of videogames.
Nintendo is under no obligati...
Most of Gamespot's senior staff left in the aftermath of Gerst-gate. Some of them joined up with Gerstmann to form the site Giant Bomb, one of them became a producer at Harmonix, and I think another moved to IGN.
The site still retains a fairly large membership base, makes a ton of revenue off of advertisements, and is still affiliated with CNET and CNET's other properties, like Gamefaqs and TV.com. That said, it's a bit of a shadow of what it once was.

I'm inclined to echo the perplexity with Mirror's Edge's inclusion on the list. Last generation had games like Okami which had a solid 30-40 hours worth of gameplay and cost less then and substantially less now. It's almost 2009; being asked to shell out sixty dollars plus tax for a game that's maybe six hours is simply not acceptable, even if the core gameplay is perfect (which it isn't).
