Thank you Deep. It not like this was hidden info either, Polyphony said long ago that they were scaling the horizontal resolution with the built in SDK tools.
@below - true, as long as there are 1080 progressively scanned vertical lines, it is 'technically' 1080p, even if its only got one horizontal scanline. This does NOT mean the same thing as 1080p native. For reference, this isn't directed at you Deep, more at people who would argue over the semantics. I know you know all this alr...
Ah Bucky O'Hare... you speak the truth...
Thank you good sir (ma'am?). Bubbles for you. You'd think they/he would be busy playing "AAA games"**, and not trolling PS3 threads.
** - "AAA Game" is a wholly owned copyright of Metacritic and Gamerankings. Only Metacritic and Gamerankings could ever possibly decide what AAA actually means. Yes, yes... all hail Metacritic and GameRankings, proclaimers of the coveted 'Triple A'. O wise proclaimers, that you would only deign yourselves to include all of the game scores, and not just you ones you arbitrarily decide are worthy. But who are we, mere MORTALS, to question such all-knowing and all-encompassing sources such as the mighty Metacritic and Gamerankings. Amen.

I agree, I really hope that some mainstream sources pick up on this. It drives me crazy when these things happen, in both the gaming and tech community, and the average person who buys these things never hears a word about it.
Wow... talk about hit-harvesting. How much has your sites traffic gone up since you posted this BS, eh Marty? Tripled from 3 hits an hour to 9 maybe? Seriously, this is OLD news, and the pictures you've posted in the past, as well as the ones PoG posted (provided you aren't the same person), as evidence are months old at least. Look at the mirrors, they got them running in real time in mid-October. It's been known for quite some time that it would be running at 1080 vertical, with scaled hori...
*cries* LEAVE LAIR ALONE!!!!!
j/k
seriously though, Lair wasn't the 'epic fail' that it was made out to be. I found it to be entirely playable, and for the most part enjoyable, throughout the entire thing.
I'd hate to drop myself to a new level of immaturity, but 'wii-ners'. Before i get chewed out by Nintendo fans, I own a Wii and have been a subscriber to Nintendo Power for almost 12 years.
They just played one vid and put a black bar down the center to see the fanboy reactions. Everyone at GT is having a great laugh at all your expense.
Seriously though, it would take the kind of vision that only fanboy blindness can instill in you to tear that video apart.
It says it like the system has been a disappointment so far. I've been pretty pleased with the progress the PS3 has made in the last year. I got mine on launch day, and while there have been some serious missteps in PR handling and delays, overall Sony has done a great job with what they've been given. Blu-Ray is amazing looking. Great BC (60GB) with upscaling for games and DVDs is something I use all the time, Linux support to play old SNES and Genesis games, and some great exclusives have r...
No, i can run similar demos on my rig. It's not pre-rendered, it's just a very efficient physics engine.
Uhhhh... Im not denying that the Cell is a physics powerhouse... but this was Crysis, as in PC...
I know that I'm sick of FPSs. I couldn't even finish Bioshock just because it felt so 'meh' to me after so many FPSs. I loved CoD4 though, which says a lot about the quality of it.
Why are this guys bubbles locked? Is it just me?
Yes, that does appear to be Bucky O'Hare, which I still get to play occasionally when i take my little brother to Chuck E. Cheese's. Also, Casino Nights and Labyrinth are two of my favorite levels!
It takes a special kind of idiot to be you...
It's just Probotector, his plus an minus are greyed out on every thread i go into.
Apparently Metacritic and Gamerankings are like gods to some people, and only they can decree what AAA is.
Lair was pretty good. Ask most non-reviewers who actually played it, they'll tell you it was rather addicting.
i had more fun in MG than I did in Bioshock, but most people don't agree with me.
EDIT: Apparently half of two people agrees with me...
