You're an idiot if you think the Wii isn't raking in more money than the other two combined. The PS3 most likely isn't making any money per unit sold yet, although they may if the blue diodes have dropped in price, I haven't checked in a while. Microsoft's game division has NEVER seen a profit, and are still covering the deficit from the days of the original Xbox. The Wii, on the other hand, makes 50-75 dollars in profit for each unit sold. Consider that the Wii has already overtaken the 360 ...

The single biggest problem in using the Cell and RSX concurrently is that, due to latency, anything that is processed from one to the other will have a one frame lag. Not a huge deal, as a game running 30 or 60 frames per second makes this imperceivable to ANY human, but it does present technical problems, but those have long since been overcome by several development studios, and the information for fixing the problem is freely available to anyone who wants to see it. See the link I posted a...

Actually, finalized dev kits weren't received by developers until well into 2006, after the 360 was already out. System specs were still being finalized well into 2006, if you care to check the past headlines. That's why many developers, including those for Heavenly Sword, did 90% of the games on mega-high-end computers, and were delayed because of porting to the actual dev kits when they arrived, which proved to be more time-consuming than originally thought. Read any R&D fact sheets fro...

If this were true I would finally make the move and "Jump In". I still await the day when it is made perfectly clear, no questions, that my 360 won't succumb to RRoD. Even if this happens, however, PS3 will still have the advantage of being able to put games on next-gen media format. Microsoft would be INCREDIBLY stupid to put games on HDDVD. They would leave sooooo many customers out in the cold. Still, I could see one or two getting greenlighted, just like there are games that req...

Jesus, WHY is the remove bubbles button unclickable? THe only thing I can think of is that Zhuk is a fake joke account set up by the mods as a sick joke to everyone on the site. There's no way he could still have 5 bubbles otherwise.

I always wonder why the 'subtract bubble' button in greyed out on his posts, and how he still retains 5 bubbles. The only thing I can come up with is that he is a joke poster set up by moderators to always have 5 bubbles no matter what.

Don't forget my favorite feature of the game: no in-game loading. Ever.

Have you played Uncharted? There's no loading times in the entire game. You could start at the beginning and play through the entire game and not load once. And before the fanboys come in and try to say otherwise, Blu-Ray has a faster data transfer rate than a dual-layer DVD.

EDIT: Why the disagree? I hate when people disagree and won't back it up...

Just because I know someone will ask the question "What's bit-torrent?", I'll give you the simple answer... it's like a free software store where you can get whatever you want with no consequences ever... /sarcasm

Only an idiot would claim that either console is doomed in 2008. They are both pulling very impressive numbers. However, my reasoning is that, even if it hasn't already done it by that point, the PS3 will easily catch 360 sales when MS drops support for it at some point in 2010/2011 to release their next console. I know I'll be disagreed with, but I can't see DVD lasting too much farther into this gen. It will require things like reusing lots of textures, multiple discs, and heavy, heavy comp...

If you look at it it makes sense. It was 20/60 first, and they upped each by 20 Gigs to 40/80. If you go back and watch the original E3 presentation and read the reports from around that time, you'll find that this was planned all along. They specifically talked about releasing new versions with upgraded specs. In fact, I'm almost sure you remember it, XBox fans flipped a sh!T saying that Sony would release new SKU's with overclocked Cell and more memory, when all Kaz meant was new HDDs.

I've bought each GTA (back to the very first one) and I've never ACTAULLY played one more than I needed to get to all of the areas. I think DLC is overrated, as theres always been enough game there on it's own to keep me coming back. Seriously, in GTA 3, I can't overstate how much fun it is to stand on the top of the building opposite of Luigi's with a rocket launcher and just go to town for like an hour. *waits for FBI to come knocking on the door*

I disagree for only one reason. ANYONE who rates games based only on what scores is get is a complete fool, and a complete tool. It's as simple as that. They will miss out on so many great games, and they just make themselves look like a sheep. Bring on more great games though, I agree with that part of the statement.

a 10k drive will spin at ten-thousand rotations per minute, as opposed to the 3.5" standard of 7200 RPM (although 10k and 15k are becoming more prevalent in 3.5" drives) and 5200 RPM for 2.5" drives. The reason it is so expensive is because 10k 2.5" drives are still a very young technology. Don't spring for it. Get a 5200 or 7200 RPM drive with a large cache.

You used the wrong form of "fair" in the thread title. Should be "fare". Now come the grammar nazi posts.

@below
No problem. Sorry, I didn't realize that it wasn't your error, it's easy to miss things like that, I just have weird OCD about grammar stuff since my girlfriend is an English major. I just kind of picked it up along the way.

I like how people are trying to say it will void your warranty. Let me clear this up by saying I was one of the VERY few people who had to send my PS3 in for repairs (only due to my own stupidity), and they DO NOT CARE what HDD is in there, in fact they have you take it out before you even send it in. HDD swapping is completely covered by the warranty, and is encouraged by Sony.

With a 2.5" drive you're better off going with a larger cache than a higher RPM.
