"Passing nudes at a party? Damn! That is messed up. How did they get the nudes anyway?"
This is a very tame response considering the part of the article it came from. We're talking about a girl who committed suicide because of harassment.
"The suit also points to a female Activision employee who ***took her own life*** while on a company trip with her male supervisor. The employee had been subjected to intense sexual harassment prior to...
Rockstar have bad business practices (e.g Shark Cards) but RDR2 had a great story, was very polished, the world felt alive and it was just a very complete single player game. I know some didn't like the slow pace but the quality was there. It was like a next gen game that somehow ran on a PS4. It's hard for me to properly hate them because of this but Rockstar of old was better though (loads of great games, not just 2 per decade).
It's good that we all agree tha...
"there will be no problem if any at all ..." There's already footage of the device being used ( https://www.youtube.com/wat... and the text looks very small on many games in the available footage.
Text size increases with a lower resolution but not with screen size and there's obviously a huge difference between how it will look on a 26" scre...
I know they can be adjusted manually but both the UI and the graphics settings for future games should have Steam Deck configurations.
Hot take apparently but I think this is actually a fair issue to bring up. If handheld PC gaming is going to become a thing, then developers should probably take these text and UI issues into account going forward.
PC games being played on the Steam Deck weren't designed for a small 720p screen, so text might become difficult and a bit taxing to read depending on the game, whereas on the Switch this is more likely to be taken into account during the porting process.
Rift Apart did not have a $200m budget, but yeah, it's certainly not a fair comparison. The graphics and visual style still look very pleasant.
I'm pretty sure that this game's budget is at least more than $20m at this stage though as Starbreeze and then MS invested more money into it, so it's probably a bit more expensive than you think it is. For reference, Control was $30m.
@ABizzel1
To be fair to the developers themselves, that's not actually true. They have patched the PS4 Pro version to run at 60fps on PS5 instead of 30fps so they wouldn't also be able raise the resolution without a native version (only so much is possible through emulation).
I always try to be honest so I have to correct your comment. Double Fine themselves are trying to do the right thing and be respectful even if MS won't allow a native ver...
They can simply raise the cap on the PS4 Pro version's resolution while running on PS5 (no new version needed) which is quite easy to do.
EDIT: I have to correct myself. To be fair, the PS5 version runs at double the framerate so at least the developers at Double Fine are trying to find a workaround. A higher resolution would not be possible without a native version.
You're such a fanboy, dude. You complained about the Avengers Spider-Man DLC but you're defending this. Those are both cases where customers are getting a lesser product for the same money but you're only complaining about the one that affects you and going through mental gymnastics to downplay the one that doesn't.
I'm mainly a PS fan but everyone knows I defend MS quite a bit, particularly against contrived complaints last gen about backwards compatibi...
If you compare your trophies (press Triangle and just press X on the first Friend in the list) you can get the grid view as well but it's very annoying that you can't just pick it as a permanent option and have to keep doing this.
The omission of the double tap (on the PS button) taking you back to the previous menu is even more annoying. You can't casually jump back to the trophies menu, Friends list, messaging, etc like you could on PS4. You have to keep manua...
The issue is that those cards teleport you to places on the map to start a specific Activity (I think the general Crimes Card didn't do that though). A Continue Card to skip splash screens and resume your save would be very useful and I think it should be universal (at least all Sony games should start using it).
Yeah, I didn't realize it at first but using any Activity Card in Pro Skater 1 + 2 skips all the splash screens and skip to menus and lobbies which you can easily exit.
It's very useful but a universal "Continue" button would be a huge improvement.
lol. You're conflating third party games just being released on a console with actually greenlighting and funding games and helping to build studios. MS did not build up Bethesda.
MS did build up Bungie though (Halo) and Sony did build up Insomniac (Spyro, R&C, Resistance). You understand the difference. Don't play dumb. There objectively is a substantive difference between their acquisition strategies. It would have been better if MS invested that $7.5b into ne...
The question is, how do make a good sequel to a series where all of the games are all actually quite a bit different from one another?
R1 had much more horror and the chimera were tougher, R2 was obsessed with scale and had so many enemies on screen (the Chicago Battle was amazing), and R3 felt smaller (the scale of the battles was only big towards the end) and less scary than the others and it took some inspiration from Half Life 2. R3 had the best shooting mechanics by fa...
I disagree. I think they've done it for the following reason:
- unlike Ghost Of Tsushima and Death Stranding, TLOU2 will not receive a Director's Cut. GOT has effectively already received a price cut. The Director's Cut with $20 of extra content has completely replaced the original version on the PS Store. This is simply an alternative way to maintain and incentivize sales going forward.
- Factions will probably be separate and free and will ...
No, independent doesn't necessarily mean self-published. Your version of "indie" doesn't actually align with the official definition:
"Indie music or films [or games] are made by small companies that are not owned by larger companies."
Under your proposed definition, Hotline Miami is not an indie game just because Digital Devolver are involved ("produced"). Hotline Miami absolutely IS an indie game as Dennaton Games is a small ...
MS made sure that there was no PS5 version/patch of a game heavily crowdfunded by PS fans (not cool), and Sony funded and then made sure that Spider-Man DLC wouldn't be in the Xbox version of Avengers (not cool). At the end of the day, it's all about getting some form of exclusivity and customers are getting a lesser product while being charged the same money when they shouldn't. It's not controversial to criticize both cases.
"Spider-Man DLC was always...
By your logic, Sony funded the Spider-Man DLC in Avengers so nobody has any right to complain about it even though they're paying the same money for a lesser product.
That was bullshit, and so is this. If you're cheerleading this, then you better not complain when the Spider-Man DLC drops in Avengers, nor should the media (they will - bookmark this page and remind if I end up being wrong about that).
I'm not defending Sony. I already said &quo...
I think this one is more likely to result in something. The lawsuit was filed by the state (California Department of Fair Employment and Housing), and it's hard for them to deny misconduct.
A female employee committed suicide on a company trip because of a huge amount of sexual harassment. Her male supervisor was in an inappropriate sexual relationship with her and a picture of her vagina was shared between colleagues at a company party before she died. It's a shock...
