An evidently divisive article. I think most people find it hard to pin down their favourite game, because games, in particular, can be special for really different reasons (e.g concise experience Vs Open World game). It was a great platformer, but I couldn't call it my favourite game ever. The article itself does remind me of how much I liked it though.
The Last Of Us may have a great story, but it is actually quite game-y in the way that you have to collect supplies, craft tools, find items/upgrade at specific work stations, use stealth/distractions, and forces you to stop to switch between certain weapons (e.g, when you're holding more than one type of gun), which can create some mild Resident Evil-ish tension. This is definitely a couch multiplayer game. You have to go into the settings and customise it to get the most out of a co-op session. Starting off with wings, bomb arrows, shields, etc never gets old. Btw, did you not get this free off PS Plus?

They eventually released the first one on the PS3, 360, Wii U, and I'm fairly certain the PC, at a later point. It probably appealed more to that market, and they might have reckoned that they could make use of the better hardware. Haven't gotten around to playing it, but I heard it was pretty good.
The Vita has a software attach-rate of like 10:1, and there is close to 9 million units out there. It's a no-brainer, especially since Sony has much more liberal policies, and will let them update without much hassle. Sony has made the process simple, and are accommodating.

Wanted to play it on my PS3, but it doesn't work with a PS4 controller so I wasn't bothered to be honest. I'll be getting this. It joins Metro Redux and TLOU Remastered as a fairly priced re-release.
God, I loved AC4. I still don't get why journalists complain about the controls. Most journalists can't play games, but even then, why? Maybe I've played so much of the AC games, that I'm very aware of how the controls work, and don't continuously jump off buildings and die. I think a few collaborative projects and new IPs like Splatoon from their smaller studios (not mentioned but still quite relevant) will be interesting, but games like Hyrule Warriors aren't really adequate substitutes (it wasn't particularly good, in my opinion).
Nintendo is really going to have to wise up with their next console. If they have some good open policies, they should be able to snatch up the majority of awesome indie games on the market and a few 3rd part...
