The title for this study is "Acting like a Tough Guy: Violent-Sexist Video Games, Identification with Game Characters, Masculine Beliefs, & Empathy for Female Violence Victims" .... and the final comment is "Unfortunately, it appears that GTA might make the world a worse place for females."

The bias and the melodrama in this study is beyond extreme, and hard to stomach. GTA is not a sexist game, morons. "The present research shows that violent-sex...

You're insane. A Crack In Time and Into The Nexus (this game borrows heavily from the enhancements made to the mechanics in that game) were both great.

That looks fun. It kind of reminds me of The Simpsons: Hit & Run, albeit, a lot more lifeless. Still though - pretty cool.

Well, that's great to know. Are you playing via a PS2 disc, downloading them or a combination? I did quickly do a bit of research, and split-screen is possible, since it is just emulation, which is a big deal to me. Awesome. I've heard people put achievements into an emulator for Sega Genesis games, and I would love if people could put achievements/trophies into emulators like pscx2 and dolphin.

I would like to show support and buy the games on PSN though, so this wo...

I personally think they should have allowed a combination: they should have had general emulation, and also put games up on the PS Store like they are doing right now (a lot of people won't have their copy of Vice City anymore, for example, so Sony would still make loads of money anyway). But maybe that wouldn't actually work, and they simply need a little bit of optimization and QA for each individual game, within the emulation software. I don't know.

It just sad...

I see where you're coming from. Personally I like, for example, having all of my trophies/achievements being stored and displayed all together in one place, rather than being divided among different services (e.g. Uplay). But, I see the problems.

I've allowed the PS4 (in the short term anyway) to basically be a reset after the architecture of the PS3 and its price made everything awkward. The PS4 is the first PS successor that launched with no backwar...

I don't generally like playing on PC tbh (just personal preference). I'm willing to give it another chance in the future, but I'm a college student, and I don't have the money to invest in a satisfactory PC right now anyway (I'm not bothered with the complexity of a PC, unless I'm getting a much better experience). Additionally, few of my friends play on PC besides an RTS junkie, and a lot of PC players I know seem a bit too occupied with talking about graphical option...

I desperately want all of the Tony Hawk, Burnout and SSX games. I would also love Destroy All Humans 1 & 2, The Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man 2, Ultimate Spider-Man, The Simpsons: Hit & Run, Mashed: Fully Loaded and Downhill: Domination!!!

I hope Sony is actually able to do this kind of stuff, because if not, I'm honestly going to be very disappointed. And if they can't really tackle niche games that a lot of people loved, then what's the point? I was very h...

I don't understand this extreme condescension from some Nintendo gamers. It's not remotely justified. The games you're talking about don't sell great on Nintendo platforms either, so the smugness is illogical. Metroid games perform poorly overall, and Zelda is not anywhere near as popular as it used to be (Zelda sales now pale in comparison to Ocarina Of Time).

Shooters are certainly a safe choice, but games like Metroid (how many Metroid-inspired games do peo...

The children's opinion is just as valid as yours, especially since Nintendo also heavily tries to appeal to children and younger audiences, and they don't seem to like the controller. He was just putting forward a very basic illustration of the fact that most people don't really gravitate to the GamePad, and a very effective one at that.

"The Wii U is not a bad console; you just don't know how to step out of your comfort zone. ...

Nintendo fanboys (not fans) are getting out of control, trying to degrade anybody who doesn't love their precious console of choice. "Chavs"? What you're doing is absolutely disgusting. You guys can rant on about "Nintendo hatred" all you want, but you are simply projecting your own hatred onto others. You are no better or worse than anybody else for owning and playing a Wii U (don't delude yourself). I know you guys really hate being called c...

So, you're saying that video-games as a medium, can never be anything more than childish? The PS1 changed gaming from merely being a child's toy into a medium for everyone, young and old. It's been over 20 years now ...

I don't know why people like you are so desperately afraid of this change. And it's always Nintendo fans who come to these silly conclusions, and yet also hypocritically assert that games targeted at children are actually very mature, and t...

The reason people aren't buying the Wii U isn't just because of a disparity in resolution, and we all know it. Insulting people who don't own a Wii U, and saying "I care about fun, and all those people care about is pixelz, so they're not real gamers like us," is such a cop out at this stage. It's nothing but a ridiculously tired excuse; a diversion tactic to deflect criticism. I'm sure you love your Wii U (and you're probably an OK-great person), but c&...

So, you think that the biggest franchises in gaming need to be overtaken in sales to prove that people buy a variety of other games and to validate their enjoyment of them, in the month of of January when there isn't any big new games anyway (most of them currently being smaller games that aren't track by NPD)? What a contrived bitter complaint. It doesn't even make any sense.

Most games will never sell better than COD or GTA, just as on Nintendo platforms, most ...

How is that at all funny? There's a pretty small community of console gamers who liked and enjoyed the game (not many are complaining about it at all, this article doesn't even have any comments), and wanted to play the sequel. It's fine if you appreciate that its an exclusive to your preferred platform, but if it actually makes you feel good that these people are disappointed and that gets you off, then you're a loser. "golden comedy"? Man, you must be fairly boring...

The whole topic of milking is interesting. Nintendo probably just see their games as "Mario is our platformer, Zelda is out adventure game, etc," and don't see the point of making new IPs within those genres the way others would.

If you were compare the 3D Mario pipeline to the Naughty Dog pipeline, you get Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, and Mario Galazy 1 & 2 Vs. Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter, Uncharted and The Last Of Us. All of these are big franchises and...

Yes!!! I loved exploring tombs in the Ezio trilogy. It really displayed AC's Prince Of Persia roots. The information that they are going to try make the controls more responsive is awesome, as it will inevitably end up more like PoP! This will likely lead back to more platforming puzzles and more thoughtful design, with more use of interiors.

It's great that they are abandoning forced mp/co-op integration into the single player as well.

That being sai...
